Advantages Advantages Fast, great graphics, light up keyboard, memory, robust, pretty

Disadvantages Disadvantages Noisy fan if too many programs are running.

One word: Amazing! I've always been slightly envious of Mac owners in the past, wishing I had enough money to afford one for myself. I've found that over the past 5 years, I've been buying a laptop every year! I sat and thought to myself, in the long-term over the next 5 years, I can carry on buying cheap, unreliable laptops, or I can invest in a decent, good quality laptop, and actually end up saving money, even though the initial investment is a lot more! Fortunately I am a student and Apple offers great student discounts of 15%, so I managed to get mine for about £900, including 3 years ... more

Before I bought my Macbook Pro, the only experience I had of Mac OS X was on the college iMacs. The reason I bought my Macbook Pro was because it would come in handy a lot for when I move away to university and Mac's are far better for photo and movie editing and that is what I need it for most. Speed I was amazed at how fast it was, even when you've got quite a few applications/programs open. It never seems to slow down unless you've got an excessive amount of stuff open. I have yet to experience it crashing which is impressive and is one of the reasons I rate it so highly. You can get on ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages quite pricey.

I needed a new laptop for when I start my nursing course in September and was debating between a windows laptop of a apple mac.Ii choose an apple mac book pro and am overly pleased with the purchase and am really glad of my decision. I have had it for a while now and really love it. I still find different things that you can do with it and it never seems to amaze me! The whole look of the laptop is great, it looks really smart. It is a neat size, can easily be carried around and doesn't look messy on my desk. there are many different cases you can buy to slip it into to make it easier to ... more

I have had my mac now for a year and found it very reliable and a powerful computer. I bought it off Amazon for £850. Apple Mac have done well with this product and it takes a lot to compete with this product. Before i had non mac computer and it was slow and had a lot of viruses and problems. However, Safari on the mac is excellent and overcome 99.5% of viruses and there is no need to buy anti-virus for mac. However, there is mac anti-virus protection out there for a piece of mind. The roll pad takes a while to get use to but is just as effective as the mouse. If you like to double click and ... more

Advantages Advantages sturdy, recyclable material, powerful, sleek, stylish,

Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive, some compatability issues

I had been to electronics stores many times before, always checking out the new line of apple computers or something of the sort, but one year ago i decided to buckle down and buy one. I am writing this review on the same laptop, and let me tell you, it runs just like the day i got it. The OS is so reliable and the computer boots and shuts down flawlessly. It has a solid aluminum uni-body enclosure, and a glass screen, what more could you ask for? Not to mention the guts of this beast, 2.4 GHz duo core processor, a stand-alone graphics card from nVidia with 256mb dedicated video RAM, and 4 GB ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages fragile

I found myself wanting a new computer this year, and my old Ibook G4 was not doing the trick. I obviously didn't want the old mac to go to waste , so I sold it on ebay and invested the money in a new MacBook Pro. I used the Mac for work, school, and yes social networking. My old Mac was just fine on a bed, or my lap so I figured this mac would be just fine using it in the same way. I put the mac on my lap and after about 2 months the bottom of the mac was coming apart? I hadn't dropped it, so this came as a huge surprise to me. I feel that a product as expensive as this shouldn't be melting. I ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent battery life, very quick, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages It does have a big price tag and not absolutely everything is compatible with it.

I've had mine for nearly a year now and there has been no decrease in performance as can often happen in other laptops. It's own set of applications i.e. word processor/spreadsheet/power point I don't find quite as good as their Microsoft equivalents, but it is possible to buy Word, Excel and Powerpoint for the Mac, and so this is a major problem. As to the general performance, it excels in all departments. Having bought the 13.3" type, it is highly portable and as well as being very light. Furthermore, with a great battery life, there is no need to continually recharge it. The screen is great ... more

Advantages Advantages Long Lasting, fast and powerful computer.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Effects of aging come quite suddenly.

I have been using apple's Macbook Pro for over a year now, and since purchase, it has worked as promised. It charges up relatively fast compared to it's predecessor, the macbook, which was released in late 2008. As estimated, over time, its performance depreciated. The battery doesn't last as long and it is beginning to slow down. However, I feel that my Macbook pro has lasted quite a long time before seeing these effects of age. As well as this, one of the many great things about this product, is that it is light and easy to bring with you wherever you need. As well as this, I think that for ... more

4 Stars MacBook Pro Review with images 06/06/2011
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Great design that is robust and performs well.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's expensive and takes time to get farmiliar with if you usually use windows

The MacBook Pro is a solid piece of kit with all the functionality you would expect from apple and more. I studied business computing at university and am now a keen programmer, and the Macbook Pro has allowed for some of the the most technologically advanced programs to be installed, with regards to programming, which was a huge surprise to me. And it these programs didn't even slow the functionality down much at all. In my opinion, the design is sleek, to the point and typically Apple. I understand that it is more expensive than windows, but the difference in design and performance is huge ... more

After owning numerous Compaq laptops with Windows operating systems, making the jump to Apple Mac was quite a big move for me. I'd have to learn to use a new operating system and pay more than I ever had for a laptop. The jump was certainly worth it. I picked up the basics very easily and found the multitouch track pad very intuitive. As a freelance worker the main reason I chose the MacBook Pro was for the battery life; I can easily get 8hours work done without charge, running high consumption programmes like Adobe Photoshop. The screen is amazingly crisp and clear too. The whole design feels ... more
