...I ended up at the Apple Store (now called something weird like KRCS) looking at the beauty that is the MacBook, and that is how I ended up spending a small fortune on this stunning machine. The laptop itself costs £750 although because I dragged my Dad along I managed to make a discount, this being because he is a teacher and teachers get discounts for some reason.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the pure design of it (after the excellent packaging and manual which was clear and concise). The brilliant white casing, the smoothed edges and the rounded corners made me feel that I was now in possession of a very professional machine. For only £699 (approx.) Advantages: Great iLife programs, Isight camera, Fun and easy to use. Disadvantages: Extreme heat, Slightly small hard drive.
I bought this for all the amazing creative programs this has on. You can probably tell by my profile that I love music. So I decided to get this for the garageband program that is included.
First of all, this laptop looks great. When ever a family member or friend sees it they always comment on how nice it looks. It's the perfect size and is very easy to carry around the house.
I thought the screen size would be a bit small (being used to a 19" ... ...get used to. Recently I added another desktop so I have extended the length of it (sorry, it's quite hard to explain). But even without the extra length it's great.
Buying a Mac meant that I had to switch to using Mac OSX instead of Windows. It's really easy to navigate around and it seems to 'flow' a lot more than windows.

...stylish and lightweight, the glowing apple logo on the back looks really cool.
Its really fast and has never really crashed in my 6 months of almost constant use. The changeover from windows was no hassle at all as macs recognise all windows file types.
The battery is great and compared to other laptops ive used lasts for ages. The 'MagSafe' power connector is a really good idea and has saved me from a few near misses, the power cable connects ... ...databases and spreadsheets (see the apple tv ads).

...I ordered my system from Apple UK's website. I went for a refurbished model and save over £100. Everything was sealed inside but a plain cardboard refurbished box was used instead of the normal MacBook packaging. It could have passed from brand new it was in such good condition.
I decided to get an Apple MacBook Core Duo 1.83 Ghz with 512mb of RAM. Although this is the entry level MacBook I was very impressed with how fast the operating system is. ... ...seems to be the Adobe Creative Suite CS2 as it hasn't been optimised for the Core Duo Processor.
I was very impressed with the bundled software and the trial versions of Pages and Keynote are superb. All the software has been designed to be easy to use while still offering professional results. The hardware is just as user friendly. The laptop found and joined my wireless network instantly and already had drivers for my printer already installed.

I got this for college (even though I just quit) after my ibook packed up (I dropped it quite a few times). My mum already had one, given to her by her company, so I knew what they were like. I waited until the new Operating System came out before I got mine though. So far it has been a pleasant experience. It has a glossy screen instead of matte like the ibooks, which for the first few seconds was a bit weird, but actually looks really nice. Like ... ...Operating System doesn\'t have that many new features - The only one I use is Spaces. However, the built in webcam is a big bonus. The lead is magnetic, and plugs in either way up... This is a BIG improvement on the macbook lead... My ibook lead broke twice.. then I bought a new one which also broke. The keyboard is much prettier, although I\'m sure it would be hard to replace (my ibook keyboard needed replacing when I dropped it and some keys popped ...

...presented with a lovely white Apple MacBook, which already stands out much more than any other laptop. Take it out of the box, plug the power in to give it a bit of battery, turn it on and you'r ready to do almost anything you want!
No long installation process, or downloading of numerous updates before you can do anything. You just turn it on and you're ready to go.
Simple as that.
Once on it automatically scans for any wireless networks around, ... ...is avaliable free off the Apple website, or there is a programme called parralles, which puts windows on your mac as an application, so it runs in a window and you can use both OS at the same time.
The sexy white finish is an excellent touch to the laptop and makes it stand out just like all other Apple products.
Compatability with programmes is no longer a huge problem as now most programmes will run on a Mac PC.
Overall, this is a superb laptop, ...

...lap as you will burn!!, apple seem to be aware that they run warm and it is not causing any issues so dont be alarmed just be aware of it.
For £750 it is great value and whats more it looks good, the airport and bluetooth are great as is the isight, hopefully msn messenger will work with it soon as the isight only works with ichat and aol at present.
Overall a great laptop but get more RAM!, if you buy from the apple store over the phone they sometimes ...

...should have one included, but apple eh? Right, the battery life is pretty decent, the airport extreme and the wireless range is amazing, it's SO simple to connect to a wireless network, basic applications like textedit and stuff run very well, it includes iLife which is good, the boot up process is easy, installing windows xp is simple, the trackpad would have been better with two click buttons, the keys are easy to type with and if your a fast typer, ... ...with MSN! the lighting up apple seems to catch my friends attention, it looks so beautiful, and isn't that heavy, you can use the laptop without the battery, (only in power), the power chord is pretty good, magnetic, overall, would recommend buying if your a first time mac user, but this is not a replacement to desktop, AT ALL ...

The best apple laptop for quality / price. The MacBook is an updated version of the iBook G4. The new elements are : a built-in iSight camera above the screen, a completely new redesigned keyboard with a great "touch and feel", it is only a magnet that keeps the MacBook close when closing, a new multimedia centre called "front row" with its remote control that can also be used for other softwares as iTunes, etc... and a new "magnet" power cord to ... ...yourself trips over the cord.
I very much appreciated the ease of use of Mac OS X, and the nice feeling from a small, light laptop. I love the touch feeling from the keyboard (compared to the "less good" one on MacBook Pros). Front row and the remote are cool but I never use it (it is more cool than useful, of course it depends how you use your laptop). The power and speed are ok.
