Advantages Advantages Simplicity, looks, sound quality, robust.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery, Formatting, iTunes.

Oh how I love me gadgets. For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with small electronic devices. Some were very useful, others not so much (still don’t understand why I thought I would need an electric hairbrush….) however this latest addition to my gadget collection most definitely fits into the former. What is it? *************** Basically, it plays MP3 files. When you download a song on the internet, or burn a CD onto your computer, this is the format (with a few others similar ones) that is used to store them. The files are a lot smaller than they are in CD format and this ... more

Although I’ve had a number of MP3 players. Apple’s iPod mini really does top the lot! If you’re looking for an MP3 player that’s sexy, but sophisticated and small, but packed full of wonderful surprises than the iPod mini is the MP3 player for you! Apple have cleverly packed all of the originals iPod’s best features into this mini version, oh, and when I say mini, I mean mini! The iPod is fashionably compact and it’s sleek shape fits right into your back pocket. Or if you don’t have a back pocket, then why not slip your iPod into your belt clip and look even more stylish? The free components ... more

Advantages Advantages Sophisticated, sleek and sexy

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery life, and cost

Is it just me or is everyone sick of hearing about the iPod? Everywhere I look someone has one, or there's *that* advert on TV. I turn to my boyfriend for an iPod free zone, and what does he do? He goes and buys one! Being the lovely girlfriend that I am, and a dedicated ciao reviewer, I just had to try it. I owe my fellow Ciaoers a review on this 'wonderous' piece of machinery to see what all the hype is about. Despite my cynicism, I was pleasantly surprised…. ***What is it?*** For those like myself without the technologic splurb, it is basically a digital music player. It plays MP3's ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages slightly unreliable, expensive, security issues

Well guys, here I am fulfilling my consumer duty and providing you with my musings on the very latest word in cool – the iPod mini. iPod’s baby sibling is just about to hit UK shores and I’m pretty confident it’s destined to be even more popular than it’s predecessor. But first, for those of you who either detest technology with a passion, or simply live in a bubble, what is an iPod mini? Basically, the iPod mini is a portable music player that can carry large amounts of music without the need for tapes, CD’s, minidisks and the like. The music is stored digitally through a wire that leads from ... more

Advantages Advantages Great sound quality, easy to use, cool colours, small and easy to transport

Disadvantages Disadvantages bad instructions, battery life isn't great.

I originally bought a Rio MP3 player in Birmingham. This was great, though the memory wasn't very big and I would have had to buy a memory card (which was reli expensive)! However, after having had it for approximately a week, and it played up, then wouldn't turn on. I couldn't take it back to Birmingham, so I had to go to my local store. This was a smaller store and had not got a replacement in stock, so they gave me a refund. Woohoo! A hundred pounds to spend. I was happy. I had always wanted an iPod. Fact. Unfortunately though, they had always been just out of my reach on the cost front ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Erm.... people see it and mug you>?

I got myself an iPod mini because everyone else I knew was getting one. Not a good reason, I know but it is the truth. I've read a lot of reviews both online and off about the iPod mini and have seen that a lot of people have not been happy with theirs. I, on the other hand, have never had any problems with it at all! Let's take a look at it in closer detail… An iPod mini is… A smaller version of the iPod. So, what's an iPod I hear you shout! iPods of all types are small devices that allow you to store music in digital format (MP3) and play it back at your leisure, on the move, at the gym, in ... more

Advantages Advantages Size; Style; Storage capacity; Sound Quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Initial outlay; Accessorising could be addictive

The iPod mini is enclosed in matt anodised aluminium, measures 5.1 cm x 1.3 cm x 9.1 cm and weighs just 103g. There is a dock connector port in the base, which allows the mini to be connected directly to an optional docking station or to a USB2 port using the lead supplied. On the top are ports for headphones and optional remote control, together with a Hold switch that, when showing a bright orange bar, disables the controls buttons and prevent accidental pressing. The front of the mini holds the display and controls in the form of a 'Click Wheel'. The display is LCD, monochromatic and ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery life decreases, My Itunes is broke.

~ It’s Kind of Magic ~ Short review!! I have had my Apple Mini Ipod for nearly five years now and I think they are brilliant. My ex boyfriend brought me this back in 2005 for my birthday and I am very happy with it. I don’t use it as much as I use to now as I have a car but I do use it in there sometimes. I remember wanting one because my sister had got one a few months before and I thought they looked really good. They weren’t the newest Ipod’s out but it just sounded what I needed at the time. When I first got the Ipod until the last year I would listen to it every day to and from college ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages ER cant think of any!

I got a mini ipod – l got it at a bargain price - £102 (plus tax) when we were recently in Toronto. Now in the UK you can expect to pay anything from around £160 plus. Now l had not really considered buying one – but for travelling they are fab – saves carrying around your cds and when l saw the bargain price l was getting it for how could l refuse! Now l simply import all my music onto the PC and transfer over onto the ipod. So what is a mini ipod – well made by apple and is a baby version of the ipod. The mini holds either 4GB, which is the model l, bought or you can ... more

Ipod mini ------------ Ipod mania has hit Earth hard, you can't go anywhere without seeing someone with those white headphones and ipod (whatever type) in there hand. And yes I have been sucked in. ~~~What is it?~~~ It is an MP3 player which plays music which you put onto the ipod from your computer. It is small, lightweight and looks flashy but the bottom line is that it's an MP3 player. ~~~Why are MP3 players so popular rather than the CD player?~~~ MP3 players tend to be lighter and less bulky than a CD player. Also they store more songs and there's no track changing. Here's the naughty bit ... more
