...might have to have an Apple computer before I could use it, but my fears were unfounded as it runs on windows software as well.
So, delving into the goody bag I was given, I found a cube-shaped box which, on careful application of pressure and fingernails, opened like a shell to reveal the treasure within - an iPod 60GB photo! The elegant, smooth white casing, the shiny metal posterior, the gorgeous little screen, the fondle-and-click control... ... ...*dribble*
Sorry, where was I... oh yes. Also inside the box was a strange looking plug with an adapter to clip it onto, a USB connector, earphones and the instruction manual and CD ROM. The CD contains the software to put on your computer in order to add songs to your iPod. Mother (Gawd Bless Her) also bought me a carrying case, a dock and a doughnut-shaped speaker system to go with it. In order to use your iPod, you must first install the software ...

If you are a music/photo junkie like myself and need to have a device to have the thousands of songs and photos always with you, look no further than this cigarrete-pack-sized storage box. If you are unsure how many songs this can fit, I can help work it out. I currently have 7100 good-quality songs on my iPod, and they take up 31.63GB. It helped me greatly to pass faster whole day's work of garden weeding and Over-Atlantic flying without fully discharging. It is amazing how such a device can help pass time! ...One thing I've found with Apple products is that no matter where I look, there never seems to be a great deal of difference in price, so I ended up just buying the iPod from a local store. Having bought the new iPod, setting it up and installing it was as easy as one might expect from an Apple product. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Apple still do not appear to have addressed the headphone problem in this version of the iPod.
The new iPod photo's 40Gb hard drive should last me a long time, even with all my photos now stored on there as well as my music. The ability to store, browse and watch slideshows of your photos is useful, albeit not an 'essential' feature for many users. However the iPod now being in full colour itself does add to an already excellent ...

...is there to say? The Apple ipod has always been the leader of mp3 players, and now with the newest addition to the pack - the ipod photo, things seem to have got even better. Still keeping the same sleek design, clickwheel, and size, Apple have managed to cram in a superb 2inch colour display, capable of displaying upto 25,000 photos (that's if you have 25,000 photo's?!), and furthermore it's primary function, an mp3 player, is still fault-less.

An iPod - proabably the peak of mp3 player design... you can imagine how happy I was to get my hands on one of these! And I wasn't dissapointed.
The colour screen produces a sharp and vibrant display, even in bright sunlight. The clickwheel reacts to the slightest touch and the whole thing slips beautifully in to my front pocket. I can't complain about the capacity of the iPod, 60GB should really be enough for most people - and with the option to partition if as a hard-drive with which you can store (and view) contact details (in vCard format) and quick notes (in Simple text format), the space can all be put to good use. Finally, I know everyone loves the touch wheel, and indeed it is fun as a novelty, but I find it at times irritating. well to be honest having bought the ipod 60 gig recently i dont realy think it is.
