The iPod Mini is essentially an MP3 player. An MP3 is basically a music file - each file or MP3 is a song or track, just like you'd get on a CD really. But the iPod Mini doesn't stop at just playing MP3's, it has so much more to offer besides!

This is where the iPod range stands out from other MP3 players. The picture ... ...bundled with a set of Apple in-ear headphones and two sets of foam covers to put over the ear pieces. All of these come sealed in foil packaging (for freshness??! or maybe just to emphasise they are hygeinically packaged). It also comes with a belt clip - useful I guess if you want to wear your iPod on the go but don't have a pocket or bag to put it into. I bought the Apple iPod mini 6GB in silver in summer 2005 for £124.99 from Curry's, and I was initially very pleased. The iPod looked sleek, chic, and very cool just as advertised on TV and the Apple website. However, within a few weeks of usage, I soon realised what a big mistake it was. Let's start with the good points...
+ It's small and slim enough to fit in your pocket. It also came with a detachable clip which allows the user to attach it ... ...had to register as an Apple user using their iPod CD and follow various inspections, which could've been confusing for those who don't understand computers well.
- The iPod has a ridiculously short battery life. I always charge it to full capacity every time (until it says BATTERY FULL), so it is bizarre that the battery goes down significantly after playing for an hour or two. Another problem is that if I use the iPod for an hour or so on one day, ...

...has to be said that Apple are very good at sorting out any problems and if they can't sort it, they do replace it with a newer version.
- The iPods do get very easily scratched, so I would suggest the buying of some form of a case as well to protect it. I have a nice transparent plastic case, which does the job perfectly.
I bought my mini iPod from the amazon website for a sum of £160, this included free delivery, a belt clip, instructions, iTunes ... ...to your computer. It did not however, include a charger to plug into the wall, you can buy these separately, but you can also charge your iPod via your computer.
To conclude, I personally think the iPod revolution is absolutely fantastic! If you are considering getting one, go for it! If however, you don't want to follow the trends, don't cut your nose off to spite your face...this is really not a trend worth missing out on!! ...

...my boyfriend bought me the Apple iPod 4Gb. He's a musician, so he is happy if I can listen music so much... I received the iPod about three months ago, and these are my impressions about this product.
At the moment, the best MP3 readers are three: iPod, Creative Zen and iRiver.
I tried both iPod and iRiver: they are similar about the price and the quality of the product. Good sound, good stuff, easy to use (iRiver is also advised for blind people). ... ...products and why I prefer Apple of Creative one.
Also if iPod is designed by Apple, it is not compatible with Apple machines only. It works with iTunes, the Windows Media Player's adversary. iTunes is a very good software that you can use, at its latest version, with both Mac OS X and Windows XP/2000. However, if you have Windows ME be careful. The Ipod box itself says not suitable for ME but you can find various patches on the Internet that may say they help. My friend tried all this and although working for a few songs, whenever he plugged his Ipod into his computer after that, his computer crashed. ...thanks fast internet connections and Apple have jumped onto the bandwagon with the ipod being probably the most recognized portable audio player on the market and now they have updated it even further with this stylish small version.
The player itself is made of anodized aluminum and is available in many colours (mine being pink!), it is very hardwearing and seems to be resisitant to both dirt,dust and scratches, it is much smaller than a mobile ... ...imagine it is very easy to misplace like I have done many times!!
Now the technical side, the ipod comes with USB2.0/Firewire Port which is located on the bottom and also comes with the neccessary cables to allow for transfer of songs from you pc. iTunes 4 is included which in itself is a very useful software package and it is fully compatable with windows.

...Fortunately the lovely people of Apple were able to honour my warranty. After I reported the fault on apples website, a UPS man came the next day to collect it. A new ipod was returned to me via UPS within days. I was not charged for this service.
So overall, the Mini iPod is an excellent purchase for those who can't afford the larger versions, and don't be put off by the many technical faults that have been reported with mini i-pods, as Apple do ... ...monopoly like status in the mp3 player market, so customer care is of paramount importance to them, and should you have a problem with your ipod they will go out of their way to help you.
Another great feature i have noticed with the iPod is that the earphones are reliable. As i like to listen to music in bed, my earphones often tend to break meaning I have to buy new ones. I am yet to face this problem with my iPod, which i purchased way back in ...

...number was an 0800 number. Apple were making money out of our iPods breaking, i was disgusted. It was all we could do though so we called up. After a ridiculous amount of time on hold we were put through to a man, in get this, india! He was a total waste of time, we wasted the first 10 minutes of the call on trying to get him to spell my surname right. Once we had got over that hurdle, he told us i would have to pay to have it fixed. With the iPod ... ...days. No, not according to apple it isnt. They call it 90 days. I was not prepared to pay any money to have my iPod sent to the Netherlands. No way. Thankfully comet took it to a place locally where the problem was solved. This was no thanks to Apple. They were the most unhelpul and time wasting company we have ever had to deal with.
Although i had a major problem, i still love my iPod. You can buy loadsa cute accessories!! Its especially useful, ...

The iPod mini.... I have some problems with this product! Firstly, the lifespan of mine is about 5 minutes! I charge it for lots of different lengths of time ranging from one hour, to whole days at a time and this seems to make no difference! There seems to be a problem with the battery in which it either stores no energy or gets drained amazingly quickly, however, this happened after my years guarentee ran out....
It is true that it holds an phenominal ... ...kida best friend! It really is/was a product i could not do without! It's just a shame its not water proof! It's tiny sleek design is ideal for many situations! However, it has now been outdated by the iPod nano and The iPod shuffle which are both ridiculously small, redering the Mini a giant! However this does not affect the quality of the sound which is still excellent, just missing a bit of base!

I had wanted an MP3 player for ages and when the Ipod mini came out I decided that it was the Mp3 player for me. I have had my Ipod mini for nearly six months now and it is still in perfect condition. I did have to buy a Iskin for it to keep it protected though. I think that one of the negative aspects to this design is the battery life. I find that it runs out quite quickly. You have to charge the ipod up fully before you can use it. I find that ... ...a cpule days later the battery life has already started to reduce and i need to charge it agin. Because I use my ipod mainly for in the use of a car when travelling - i have overcome the problem with the battery by gettiing a powerpod that fits into the cigarette liter bit of the car. This means that my ipod runs off of the power of the car and is fully charged when I come to use it. I have already hinted at some of the accessories I have bought ...

...and specs. i took my apple ipod home and couldn't wait to get started. It was quite easy to use itunes but my brother helped me for he has had his ipod for years. Some of my friends have said they have had a problem with Itunes in the past due to impracticality and confusing options, i myself have had a few problems of not being able to play my songs through i tunes on the computer, i have had to find my songs in my many my computer folders before ... ...merely able to do at the touch of a button. One of the problems with the ipod is that they scratch easily i have managed to keep mine in a rather good condition but others have not had the same fortune, also they can malfunction in the rain and there can be problems with the sensitivity of the controls circle and the durability of the screen. ...take it back to. Apple are very good at replacing or fixing the Ipod. I took mine back to the store i bought it from, and I received it back fixed within 2 weeks. This is clearly a strong negative point for the mini Ipod. It seems very susceptible to breaking down. However, it does have its good points. It comes with the Itunes package that allows you to easily sort your songs into playlists for different moods (for example i have one for when I'm ... ...Ipod it also very light and easy to carry. It has a decent battery life and charges up every time you plug it into your computer. You can also get chargers to attach to a mains plug. Other negatives of the Ipod are that its outer case scratches very easily, and also the backlight that lights up the Ipod when its dark does not stay on for long enough.
Despite the negatives, i do still love my Ipod and can't imagine living without it. It's so handy ...

i am unsure of price as i did not personnally buy it but i feel it is well worth the money if it is durability and the lightness and conveniency it has that you are after however it is not worth the money if the memory is not large ... ...one crucial downpoint is the battery length and it is awkward to replace if battery dies as you have to send it away which costs a bit. When i recieved the ipod mini i was given the usb cable with it which allows you to plug your ipod mini into your computer to charge it. you also get the choice of whether the ipod mini automatically updates when you plug it in or whether you do it manually.Unfortunately it does not come with a socket charger and ...
