Advantages Advantages Stylish, durable and the sound is superb.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Possibly too expensive for some, and headphones are a poor fit.

If you haven't heard of iPods by now, then you must have been living under a rock somewhere as these things mp3 players are hugely popular all over the world. The first one debuted in America in October 2001, and at the last count in October last year Apple has sold no less than 67,635,000 of the device. Apple the creaters of this hugely popular media player did however come under a large amount of critisism for their devices. It was found that the player's battery life wasn't as good as they claimed it to be, and the previous generation of the model I'm reviewing was slated for being easily ... more

Yeah ok, so Apple have bought out a whole 3 new generations of the Nano since I bought my little 2nd generation one, but ya know what? I still love it and I am more than happy with it, and I don't see myself changing from it for a very long time. I have the 2nd gen Nano in hot pink, and it is the 4gb version. It is very slim and light and just damn well perfect. Heck I even got matching pink ear phones to go with it. The Nano, as I have said is very slim, coming in at 0.26 of an inch thick and it only weighs 1.41 ounces, so it wont ever be weighing down your pocket or your bag. It has a 1.5 ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Aluminium scratches easily, limited capacity

I purchased the Ipod Nano 4GB nearly 2 years ago for £120. It's a great little piece of kit, and in the years since I've not been tempted to upgrade it to one of the newer models. Main features It's got a colour screen which although is quite tiny, is perfectly adequate for viewing album covers and photos if you choose to upload any. As the title suggests it's got 4GB of memory which is around 1500 songs. Compared to other models this may seem fairly small but the size of the Ipod Nano means that it's also much more potable so it's perfect for short holidays or exercising. I wear mine on my ... more

Advantages Advantages Sleek Design, Very managable, small size, large memory and good sound quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor battery and very easily scratched.

The iPod. The defining, most revolutionary piece of affordable equipment for the "noughties generation." It is undoubtedly acclaimed by all, but is it worth the hype? You recieve it in a streamlined box, and recieve an iTunes installation CD, your iPod, a computer charger, a set of headphones (with 2 ear muff things) and some manuals. It's simple enough to set up, just charge, then install the CD, then connect the iPod using the charger cable and drag your music files. The 4GB capacity will hold roughly 1000 songs depending on the size of your mp3 files or the amount of photos you also add on ... more

I was looking too buy a new MP3 player after my older one decided it wasnt going to work too well. I needed something that looked good coudl hold enough music and wasnt ridiculously exspensive. The i-Pod seemed the most obvious choice to me, so finally after a long while of searching I settled for a second generation nano in silver. Not once have I regretted the choice I made. Stylish sleek and it slips in the pocket with real ease. The wheel is excellent for navigating the different menus. Really simple but really effective anyone could use it.the soudn quality is amazing and when I run with ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Apple iPod Nano 4GB Second Generation by davidnoquet 24/08/2007
Where can i start the ipod nano is great to store music as that is its primary use. I could listen to any music that i want to and have no problems with hearing it. The earphones are great to hear music through and the ipod itself is great for handling music. As an extra feature the ipod has some entertaining games that will keep you entertained if you have a long journey. Sometimes listening to music can get boring so as well as being able to listen to music you can play games. It is a great product and definately ... more

Advantages Advantages Functions, Slimline look, easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Wearability, capacity

As a music lover, I could safely say my nano is my desert island must have. Personally, my favourite aspects of the Nano are the easy to use menu layouts and different display options and the included games are a nice touch if you're waiting for a bus etc and you want something more than just music to pass the time. I love the genre menu as you can choose the style that suits the mood but my most used part is the 'shuffle' function. I also love the fact that you can add playlists to your nano as i've had other mp3s in the past that don't allow this. But on the negative side, I got my iPod for ... more

    Advantages Advantages very slim design

Disadvantages Disadvantages doesn't hold as many songs as some others

The ipod nano (4GB) can be bought for around about £120. It has a slim design with a bright, photo-friendly screen. It Is easy to use and holds up to 1000 tracks. I love how small this ipod is (3.5 x 1.6 0.26 inches). It is very light as well only weighing in at 1.41 oz. This means it fits into my pocket well. It takes about 4 hours to charge fully but it doesn’t come with a AC Adaptor so you can’t charge it up away from the computer but you can buy these for about £5. Updates for the ipod can be found in itunes and are essential for keeping it up to date. I have had problems in the past when ... more

The ipod nano is quite good its definatly worth the money i paid for it. The sound is excellent, the screen is excellent it looks very good and its extremly slim and small. I am very impressed with mine but i do find that the battery life isnt very good for very long. After about 4 or 5 months the battery starts to go very quickly and i have had to take my ipod back under apples 12 month garentee. I was pleased however that apple changed the battery free of charge and didnt make an issue over it. I find that the ipod earphones are very good they can be brought seperatly for a price of £19.00 ... more

    Advantages Advantages Looks

Disadvantages Disadvantages LOADS :Price, manual is pointless, problems all the time, too thin, targeted by muggers etc

I do not understand why Apple Ipods have got such a good reputation. My personal experience with my ipod nano(s) has been absoloutely ridiculous. I have had three ipod nanos. The first one broke down within 2 weeks. I had cared for it well, and followed all the instructions given in the tiny manual that was given to me by Apple. I paid over £100.00 for this ipod, but personally feel I was robbed. I tried everything to repair my ipod, resetting it, ringing up the help line, going on the website and asking friends. Thinking that it was just a one off, I sent this ipod back (under warranty) and ... more
