    5 Stars Ipod Shuffle! 20/09/2008
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages small with a cool little clip

Disadvantages Disadvantages screenless - but do you need all those extras features?

Introduction: Apple originally released the Ipod in 2001 and it was designed to be another mp3 player to rival all the others. It proved to be hugely successful and easily out witted all its opponents. It was designed to be small and sleek compared to all the then bulky music players you had to carry around. Since the launch in 2001 Apple has sold millions of Ipods across the world and it is recognised as the ultimate in music players and is seen as somewhat of a fashion icon - there is no way you could mistake an Ipod for anything else. Apple has also released a variety of different Ipods and ... more

Advantages Advantages small, sleek, stylish, has a built in clip, holds more than enough songs

Disadvantages Disadvantages When used as a secondary Ipod for the gym - None

My iPod classic was too big for the gym and costing in excess of £200 I was a bit worried that I might damage it. I needed an MP3 player that was small, lightweight, cheap but good quality and durable that I could use for the gym. Since my gym sessions only last for around an hour a time the memory size is not such a big issue. I didn’t need something that could hold thousands of songs since I just had no need for it. I considered an iPod shuffle but at £79 I considered it too expensive, despite knowing that it would be excellent quality, like all of the iPod range. It was during the same week ... more

4 Stars Review of Pink iPod Shuffle 2GB Review with images 31/01/2009
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages inexpensive, tiny, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages no screen, needs a 4 hour charge for full battery

I like to start my reviews with a personal touch. It is important to know how the reviewer came to own/use the product. When I read reviews I believe a little background info can go a long way. I am a music fanatic, I have a song for every emotion and moment of my life, the most memorable may have to be Bewitched 'The Weather Man' but I shall not go into detail about what moment of my life it was as I may embarrass myself (says she, as if she hasn't embarrassed herself already admitting she used to listen to Bewitched, and went to their concert). Anyways I like to have all sorts of music at my ... more

Advantages Advantages Clip, Music Quality, Build, Battery

Disadvantages Disadvantages Size, No Screen/Repeat/Shuffle, Price

Intro Like many, I tend to listen to music everyday, via television, radio, pc or mp3, I consider it important. However when times get tough at school, college, work, whenever, you're average mp3 player dies and you need to replace it. The Shuffle is one to consider for a specific type of person - someone who's far less bothered about having all the music they love, but for a sturdy selection of new songs. This tiny little player is best left to those who couldn't ever be considered music enthusiasts but instead fitness freaks who need a pumping bass line while they cycle up a hill or leg it ... more

Advantages Advantages Small, cheap, decent quality, space for enough tunes

Disadvantages Disadvantages No interface, white earphones

After years of stubbornly clinging on to analogue technology, my cassette Walkman gave up the ghost a few months ago. I decided, with heavy heart, that it was finally time to go digital. Not really knowing what to go for, I asked a few people. The answer was unanimous. iPod. The problems were a) my reluctance to spend money on anything; and b) my dislike of Apple’s branding. I resolved to go for the cheapest iPod I could find, but ended up getting the second cheapest: a second generation 2GB Shuffle. Not one of the fancy new ones that talks to you (why would I want an MP3 player to talk to me ... more

Advantages Advantages It won't take up much room in your pocket or bag

Disadvantages Disadvantages You may tear apart your pocket or bag with the frustration it causes

When my trusty old MP3 player finally packed up in 2009, I decided to buy something a little more up-to-date with the world. A very tech-y friend of mine was quick to recommend the Shuffle, as it was only £50 at the time, and, he said, had received great reviews so far. I didn't want a bulky thing, and my last MP3 player had been smaller than 2GB, so I decided to take the leap into the Apple world that everyone seemed to be raving about. I usually refrain from negative criticism and try to focus on the positives of a product, but besides the useful size of the Shuffle, I have been very ... more

Advantages Advantages Light, Compact and the range of colours.

Disadvantages Disadvantages The silver colour is bland

My First iPod A few years ago I had this iPod as a Christmas gift from my mum. I thought I was extremely lucky to have this. At first I found it difficult to learn how to put the songs onto it but then I found that if I read the instructions then it might help me. As I was young I didn't really put too many songs on so I wasn't too concerned about filling it up too quickly. I had the silver coloured iPod which I wouldn't of picked for myself as I thought it was a boring colour and didn't really bring out the boldness of my personality. I soon resolved this problem by buying plastic colour ... more

Advantages Advantages Convenient cheap easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Has no screen

The iPod shuffle is very convenient and easy to use. There is a clip on the back so you can clip it on you anywhere. There are limited buttons so even if your not good with technology you will still be able to function it. I used to use this when I went for my morning runs or bike rides because its small and handy and doesn't get in the way as I used to clip it on my waist. The iPod runs for about 25 to 40pounds depending on where u get it from and weather its first or second hand. 2 Gb holds about 250-300 songs depending on the size of the files you it on there. I think that it is a good ... more

Advantages Advantages 12 hours battery life, comes in different colours, very light,

Disadvantages Disadvantages does not have mains chager, can't store picture or videos, rather expensive

I'm the kind of girl who has never really liked anything to do with the ipod. But I must give them some credit for the ipod shuffle. I moved to University so I always wanted something small and easy to carry some of my music on rather than my normal mp4 player. I therefore bought a 2gb Blue Ipod shuffle from amazon for £45 which I thought was a lot. I only bought the shuffle as it's the only small mp3 player with a clip on it and is very light in weight making it easy to carry around, and can be handy for girls like me who don't wear clothes with pockets all the time or when I go to the gym ... more

    4 Stars Too small? 17/02/2012
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Small and has a surprising amount of function

Disadvantages Disadvantages Minimal use if you already have a smartphone

I was lucky enough to have a work mate with one of these he didn't want - and only asked £10 for it. When I checked online, they retail for £35 - and you can pick the up for about £25 if your lucky. I doubt you'd be as lucky as me, but if its any consolation, I'm rarely that lucky. So, the 4th Generation iPod Shuffle. -----FIRST IMPRESSIONS---- I had to squint to get a look at this, before I could even get a first impression. Well, thats a slight exaggeration, but it is tiny. Its slightly smaller than a £2 coin, but square in shape (also, 100% Queens face free) and about 1/2 cm in thickness ... more
