Advantages Advantages Good Top Speed, Great Handling, Great Brakes.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very Unreliable, Expensive Replacement Parts.

I bought my RS50 in september of 2007. It was a 2006 model ( NOT the under-seat exhaust one ). First of just to clarify, RS50's are fast - FOR A 50.. they do not go 80mph.. you will be extremely lucky to get one that does 70mph without a bore kit on it.. my bike does 65mph, however this is when the needle is past the redline, and if you do that for long enough your engine will seize/blow. On that note, if you don't warm the bike up for a couple minutes, you largely increase the chances of seizing the engine. Good points: -The handling is second to none. You won't find another 50cc thats got ... more

Advantages Advantages Incredible power for such a tiny engine, amazing handling

Disadvantages Disadvantages Comfort and practicality are nothing to boast about

The 2007 RS50 was, at first sight, a bit of a disappointment. After all of the reviews I had read on the internet about the 2006 model, I expected the new one to be perfect in every way. Maybe it was all of this hype about the bike that led to my initial disappointments with the bike. When I first saw it, I couldn't help but notice just how cheap the plastic looks - and those flames. The seat is horrible, after a couple of hours of sitting on it while the bike's screaming away beneath you, all you can think about is whether your arse is going to have to be amputated afterwards. I've never been ... more

Advantages Advantages Freedom, a proper motorbike of only 50cc

Disadvantages Disadvantages it requires a lot of tmaintenance and TLC to remain reliable...

The Aprilia RS50 is a highly desirable bike for the young novice motorcyclist and provides a great sense of freedom to the teenager looking to get about. Hopefully I will be able to give you a good idea of what you can expect from this bike. Performance Most speed-crazed teenagers leap at the bold claims of high top speeds and amazing performance and buy one. The rs50 IS fast "for a fifty". However, that does not mean it is fast. Nippy enough to get you about, and the engine is very, very willing for a 50, but we're talking 60mph absolute tops with a race exhaust on pre-2003 models on the ... more

Advantages Advantages good looking, well fast!

Disadvantages Disadvantages sounds like a wasp and drops out of gear

My search for a new bike started when I turned 16 and was looking for a bike rather than a scooter like all of my friends. It took me aprox 6 weeks to find my perfect bike but when I did I fell in love. If you want to learn to ride a bike then I would recommend that this or its big brother the rs125 is the BEST bike to learn on. The clutch is like a feather, (you barely know that you're holding it) and actually releasing the clutch itself, as it is not a very sensitive, there is plenty of forgiveness if you slip and let it out a bit fast you wont end up on your ass. The ride itself is not a ... more

Advantages Advantages Good mpg, Stylish , A real head turner, 80 mph de-resricted

Disadvantages Disadvantages slips out of gear sometimes, Hard to find parts

Hi i am writing this review from first hand experiance with this great 50cc motorbike. The Bike Itself !! The bike offers alot more than your average scooter reaching top speeds of 80 mph if derestricted which realy turns heads. The fun I have had taking over my friends on there scooters. The bike has wicked ecceleration and can quiet easily pull a wheelie at the lights or wheel spins on gravel. The syle of the bike is an exact copy of a bigger aprillia exept for the tiny exhoust pipe which I think is the only letdown on its design. The handling of the bike is exellent its all so smooth ... more

Looks & Sounds- For a 50 cc motorbike this looks like a proper superbike it is very stylish, great design, good layout of accessories and looks bigger than it is. Doesnt sound too bad either for a 50 cc bike. Comfort - the bike is comfortable and you could go for long rides, the only problem i found when riding it was that becasue you leant over your wrists start to ache. Handling & general- the bike has got great handling and you can really hit it hard round corners even when my wheels locked up and i was doing abt 50 mph i managed not to fall off or crash. It is great when it hits about 7000 ... more

Advantages Advantages The best looking 50cc around!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

I am the proud owner of an Aprilia RS50. I purchased it on my 16th b'day, and have no regrets what so ever. My friends were instantly jelous when i pulled up on it, and even more upset when i pulled off leaving them behind. The bike was 2nd hand but only had 1 previous owner, who i knew well and i knew it had been well looked after. It was restricted when i got it and it only went 37mph tops, but that soon changed. I had it de-restricted, had a full "Arrow" racing exhaust put on it, the gear ratio changed, a K & N air filter, and... wait for it... custom made clocks. After this work was done i ... more

Advantages Advantages Good Handling, Comfortble, Smooth Throttle

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite Pricey

I was pleasently suprised, when I found an advert in the paper, for an Aprilia SR50 for £850. I read a bit about it and did my research into the scooter and found that for £850 there must be something seriously wrong with it. As it was, the seller had bought a brand new 250 version of the Aprilia RS50 and was just trying to make a quick sale. Once I had bought it and taken it back home, I began to inspect it, once again I was pleasently suprised. The addvert was obviously very undescriptive in so far that, there was far more features than the advert had stated. An electric start was one ... more

So are you board at home and always struggling to get about from a-b? Well the answer is a motorbike now that they are available to you then once you have one there is no worry to get somewhere. If you are ready to travel with the others on bike then the best bike in my opinion is the RS 50. Its engine is: Type single cylinder, two stroke, liquid cooled. Fuel tank hold: 13 litres Gears: 6 Speed Not to mention that the aprillia Rs 50 is sex on wheels. The acceleration wil beat most cars from the traffic lights. What to do to get on the road is. Find a bike. Take a CBT. (test to get on the road) ... more
