Advantages Advantages The fastest road 50cc

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

The Asprilia is the most powerful 50cc bike money can buy for the road and even greater if your 16 you can ride it with no real hassel. as long as you take a CBT 1 which ually costs 70 quid or your own bike or 100 on a bike they provide. This takes afew hours and you come away with a provisional license for 2 years before you have to take a full license test. You are then able to ride the Aprilia RS50 which is a replica race bike and it can reach speeds of 60 to 70 mph. Although on your fist year until you are 17 you will by law have to have the bike restricted. This means the bike will only ... more

Advantages Advantages smart lookin for a 16 year old

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not fast enough

the rs 50 has got to be the best 50cc sports bike available it has the looks of a 125 but the power of an old dog. if you are looking for a sporty 50 this could be the one for you. if you are intending it to be used for cities the being restricted is o thes gives you a top speed of 30 mph but if you live on the outskirts you need it to be derestricted giving you 55mph. 50cc bike are cool for 16 year old teenagers. but if your older than that 125 is the size to go for the 125 bike can be riden on L plates and have a top speed of 75mph restricted and 110+mph derestricted. if your your thinkin ... more

Advantages Advantages This bike is definately the best learner bike on the road. The smart look and comfotable feel adds to the thrill of having the smoothest, fastest and head turning motorbike! This bike is very reliable and suitable for all ages of riders!

Disadvantages Disadvantages This bike has just one disadvantages and that is, aprilia parts. The parts are now ordered from italy its self and it can either take a few days or a few weeks! You may think this bike is to price'y but it is worth every penny!

THIS BIKE IS NO NORMAL BIKE, ITS BETTER THAN YOUR AVERAGE MOPED, AND FAR BETTER THAN ANY OTHER LEARNER BIKE ON THE ROAD! THE SPEED OF THIS BIKE RESTRICTED STILL HITS 60+ MPH SO WHO KNOWS WHAT SORT OF SPEED IT WOULD HIT WEN DE-RESTRICTED. THE RS50 IS A VERY STYLISH BIKE AND WITH THE SMOOTH EXAUST SOUND AND COMFORTABLE SEATS, YOUR SURE TO SEE ITS LOVE AT FIRST SITE! WHEN OUT RIDING MINE EVERYONE TURNS TO LOOK AND EVEN THE PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW ME EVEN WAVE BECAUSE IM DRIVING THEIR DREAM BIKE! I SAY TO MY MATES IM JUST POPPING OUT TO THE SHOPS BUT BECAUSE OF THE FUN OF HAVING THE RS50 I FINALLY ... more

    Advantages Advantages Speed, tuning ability

Disadvantages Disadvantages Parts hard to come by, expensive to repair

I have an RS 50. Buy one aswell! If you want a 50cc bike that will kick any pussy scrambler or mopeds ass, get one! Standard, these bikes can go around 55 mph, but tuned they can hit in the high 70's. Things that can be done are direstricting the carberetor, this costs about £60, when done by a professional, or you can add a race exhuast that gives the bike a wicked sound and rockets up the BHP by about another 7-11 BHP! Once you have done your CBT and had about 3 months riding experience, go for the tune! It is well worth it :) ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast Stylish you name it it has it.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I don't know where to start this bike can do it all. It's faster, better looking and greater than any other 50cc bike on the market. Up until a few weeks ago i had never been on a proper bike i only had a sit and screw moped but whe i climbed on tp i instantly fell in love. The sleek body work the stylish colour, this bike was gonna take some beating. Not only did this bike look fast but it was fast reaching speeds of around 60 mph this bike had it all. The gear change was smooth the brakes were good and the engine purred fantastically i was hooked. Now many of you may be thinking that this ... more

Advantages Advantages Smart, fast @ age 16

    Disadvantages Disadvantages bit, expensive

This bike is every 16 year olds dream. It comes in many colours, the design I recommend is the racing. you can ride this bike at the age of 16 if you have your provisional liscence and have a Compulsary Basic Traning certificate (CBT). This costs around £50-100, depending on whether you require the hiring of a bike to do the training on. To get your prov. liscence you need to go to your post office and ask for a form, and it takes a few weeks to go through. You can do it a few months before you're 16 so you can ride the day you turn 16, For more info. go to www.rs50.co.uk ... more

Advantages Advantages available at 16 years of age

    Disadvantages Disadvantages its only 50cc

This is the ideal bike for any 16 year old looking to get out and about. It is good looking and is available in a variety of colours. It has six gears (clutch and toe ‘n’ heal) and is one of few; 50cc sports bikes available and probably the best. To ride this bike at 16 it must be restricted to slow it down. If it is not restricted it is capable of speeds of up to 65mph. The rs50 is quite pricey at over £2000 new but second hand ones can be picked up from anywhere between £800 to £2000. The Aprillia rs50 is capable of over 60 miles to the gallon, which comes in quite handy with the ... more

Advantages Advantages Looks great, good fuel consumption.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Exhaust looks a bit weedy.

The RS50 really is a great first bike and can be ridden on just a C.B.T. It looks great; every 16 year old wants one. Unfortunately its performance is not great (top speed of around 30mph restricted) but it is only a 50cc and acceleration isn’t too bad. Although its great for going into town and short journeys. Comfort is a bit of a problem, but you wouldn’t buy this bike for comfort and its handling is quite good. Aprillia is a well-established company and know how to make a good quality bike. They also offer a good warranty, I’ve had mine about a year and had no problems yet. An alarm is a ... more

Advantages Advantages The looks, the fun, flexibility, chick magnet

Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive, unreliable, parts are nightmare to find

Starting in motorcycling? Dont want to follow the rest with a scooter? Then you need an Aprilia RS50. This bike is so flexible, click down too many gears, and it just revs, no skids. Accelerate too hard, and theres no chance of flipping your bike. And it is super light weight. It is small enough for almost anyone, and is light enough for almost anyone. This bike is the most fun you can have on a provisional licence (Or full). Its super light weight lets you flick it around, and those 17 inch wheels and sporty suspension lets you get away with anything on it. The brakes are excellant, but the ... more
