Advantages: Great stuff for calming spots and skin irritations Disadvantages: None
When Little Miss woke us with an outbreak of spots, which increased in number as the day progressed, we decided that it was indeed chicken pox. A quick visit to the doctor confirmed this, and we braced ourselves for the itching which would follow. The doctor advised a combination of calamine cream, antihistemine medicine and calpol, so once we had procured all of these goodies, we were ready to tackle this ailment.
The cream did in fact prove to ... ...The cream comes in a small white 100ml tub, and once the seal is broken, the lid can be lifted off easily. All of the instructions and ingredients are clearly stated on the tub.

Open the lid to reveal the cream which has a slightly pinkish tinge with a slightly chalky smell although this is obvious only if you really have a good sniff of the cream.
To use the cream, all that is necessary is a finger in the tub, to scoop out the required ...

Aqueous cream is a light, supposedly non-greasy moisturiser that leaves an oily film over the skin to prevent moisture loss. It's made from a mixture of emulsifying ointment (which contains paraffin oils) and water with a antimicrobial preservative to help keep it fresh and bug free.

I was introduced to Aqueous Cream after a visit to the Doctor. Few years ago, when my daughter was few weeks old, I noticed dry skin patches on several parts of her body. I was not sure what it was. However, with the Aqueous cream we noticed a difference straight away. The skin softened up and began to become smooth and regular. The cracks dissappeared and now we have a perfect baby with perfect Skin. All of this happened less than a week after we started using it. Some caution should be issued though. Aqueous cream is one of many emollients available on the market.
Emollients hydrate, soothe and soften the skin and can be used for all dry skin and scaling skin problems. The effect is somewhat short-lived though and one needs to re-apply as necessary to maintain that effect.
The main ingredients are emulsifying ointment and phenoxyethanol base added to freshly boiled and cooled purified water.

Aqueous cream is a non-toxic, externally-applied substance so there is no limit to how many times it can be applied if you unforunately suffer from more than a mild case of eczema (usually in conjunction with stronger preparations) or dry skin, nappy rash, contact dermatitis, itchy skin, etc. It can be used on all external parts of the skin area, used as soap (it actually leaves a thin film after washing off with water ...

Advantages: quick results, cheap, effective, gentle on all skins Disadvantages: has been known to make symptoms worst
I was first introduced to Aqueous Cream after my son was born 5 months ago. As he was a week overdue, his skin was fairly dry, a common problem in late babies so I've been informed.
My midwife recommended I invest in a tub of Aqueous Cream as she said this would help clear his skin. So I went straight out to our chemist and bought a large tub (500g) for £1.15. At first I rubbed it into my baby's skin after his bath and almost immediately I saw some ... ...begins.
I have found Aqueous Cream to be very versatile, it can be used to treat exzema, sunburn, sensitive skin, or as a daily moisturiser. I have been known to use it on my skin after shaving my legs and it leaves them feeling gloriously silky smooth.
A friend of mine recently recommended I use it on my baby instead of a soap at bathtime. It doesn't irritate or dry the skin out like soap does so this is now used all the time. I use it in the ...

...wasn't really heard of.
Aqueous Cream Is a water based emoillent, therefore very good for dry skin conditions,Its non greasy and absorbs well into the skin.
It has no added extras ie fragrance.
But works well as a moisturiser and also a soap.
It then came in 500g tubs..which for sufferers of eczema and other dry skin condtions this product was brilliant..as it was easy to use It was easy to administer.
But not brilliant if you only used it occasionally..
... ...I buy it as I only use it for small areas on the skin!
Its made by various pharmaceutical companies and believe me they differ loads in the thickness and smell(honest)
I typically use the Boots own brand (as I work for them) and my customers get quite annoyed when we have to "buy" in a cheaper brand,as it is quite inferior....there words not mine.
****WHATS GOOD**** Its CHEAP....about £1.60/£1.80 for 500g about £1.00 for 100g(not such a good deal)

So trundled down to Boots with babe in hand and searched the skin products down the various aisles but couldnt find it, I presumed it would be where the E45 cream and Oilatum were kept but to no avail. The cream itself is Lanolin free and not perfumed so the smell is pretty non-descript and shouldn't irritate the babies skin like some products do.
On the side of the tube it say's it is suitable for symptomatic relief of dry skin conditions.

Aqueous cream adds water to the skin and relieves the symptoms of dry skin and chapped skin. It is £1 for a 100ml tub which is excellent value.
It is obviously like most creams it will either work for you or it will not.
