...each! Whilst I like Archos as a general rule and think their products are durable and sleek looking, this idea of having to spend £15 to get a specific format add-on is a bit of a con.
The 405 does not come with a kickstand and so while I am watching media on the train this is not a problem but at home it can become tiresome to hold it or have to prop it up against something.
The navigation keys on this device are not the easiest to use. The 605 ... ...have come to expect from Archos and the dimensions are excellent (99.6x78x13.2) which means this really can fit in a pocket. It only weighs 146g as well so the "portability" is excellent.
The main plus for this little player is the quality of the audio. Bass is excellent and tunes sound crisp and sharp. To get the best out of it though you will need to dispose of the standard headphones that come with the player in favour of something with a little ...

This product compares favorably to all other mp3 players. It holds an amazing amount of information from photos to video's to music of course. Its is also easy to copy and paste files directly onto the player with out the arkward set up of a music library and having to follow restrictive guidelines.Photos can be transferred from other programs with a simple "send to". Advantages: Good screen size for the price. Easy to use. Good sound quality. Not too heavy or bulky. Disadvantages: Takes a long time to charge. Battery life could be better.
I bought the Archos 405 as I had used the Archos 605 at college and really enjoyed using it. The 605 was out of my price range so i settled with the archos 405. I was surprised at the screen size,(3.5"), compared to other similar products of the same price,(1.5"-2.5"). Now because i had used an Archos system before i was aware of the instructions and how to use it, nevertheless, it is extremely easy to use. The buttons are clear and easy to use, ... ...a cable that charges the device from the computer/laptop, as this is quite inconvenient for me. Although you can buy adaptors pretty much anywhere from about £5.00. All in all i would recomend this product to anyone who hasn't got a budget for the newer Archos systems or iPod touch. ...
