We have used the card to make larger purchases on the interest free credit scheme which has until now worked fairly smoothly. I was looking at buying some new bedroom furniture so me and my partner thought we would get an argos card to spread the cost a little. We succeeded in getting the card and was asked by one of the store workers if we would like to pay by direct debit i said yes she said she would set that up for me in store. i was on a buy now pay 3 months later all was good till i got a letter saying that i had been charged 12 pounds late payment fee and also had 300 pounds taken off my credit limit reason being because the lady in the shop didn't set up my direct debit. customer services was no help at all to me. ...

I took out an Argos card to pay for a sofa because i'd get two years intrest free credit. If only I knew what I know no, I wouldn't have bothered, even if that meant taking out a loan!! Their customer service is the worst i've ever come across, they made it as difficult as possible to set up direct debit, the they failed to send the odd statement out and keept adding additional charges at £17.50 a time if i was a few days late on payment.
