    We have all had an Argos book in our time and lets face it we have all been in and queued forever waiting for a assistant to help with our order only to find that they have been working there for all of an hour and you know more than they do - well Argos .co.uk cuts out the middle man and makes getting the good value shopping experience back on track. I have just recently registered with Argos.co.uk and I have to say I was supprised to find that it was so easy.     I wanted to buy a Reebok Fusion Cross Trainer from Argos as a gift for my wife on our wedding anniversary and for delivery the baby. I placed an order for the same on 13th April 2008. Total payment was : £154.84 because the item was on half-price sale. The delivery should have been within 28 days (on or before 13th May 2008). However I get a letter from the Customer Service department at Argos on 10th May 2008 saying that they don't have the item in stock and they "hope" they will receive the stock before 6th June 2008. I made a lot of calls to the customer service dept but got no helpful ... more

    Argos is one of those stores that has a bit of everything which makes it appealing whatever your needs are. Let's face it, they're huge! When you want something big, it seems an ideal place to shop online and get your stuff delivered. The website is user-friendly, and the automated customer service is prompt and concise. But!!! And for me this is a major "but". When they say an item will take up to 35 days to deliver, you kind of plan around it.     Argos let me down very badly on their home delivery service this Christmas and ultimately could not honour the sale they had made to me. Some weeks before Christmas.I wanted to order a bike that my son had his heart set on. It was out of stock but I was told there would be a stock delivery prior to Christmas.     On 15.11.09 I ordered Beko WM6167 washing machine with Collect and Connect option in Argos store. It was delivered on 18.11.09. The driver was in a hurry and pushed drainage hose onto the pipe with such a force that the plastic pipe sytem came disconnected. I noticed it only after he left. Tried to fix it myself but could not. In the store I was told that Argos and Argos Direct were two different organisations and the store would not deal with complaints, I had to call the number provided on my receipt.     Hi all, having ordered on-line and received confirmation of such you can imagine how disappointed I was on opening the parcel only to find that they had delivered the wrong item (Limited edition hello kitty bindeez) for my daughter. The box was also damaged. Eventually managed to get through their 'choose this choose that option' and after hanging on for 5 mins an agent answered. She took my order no. said she couldnt find the transaction then put me on hold only to find myself back in the hanging on. Not very good customer service and it gets worse!     Advantages Advantages Very curtious delivery drivers and mates. The bed is off excellent quality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages In my opinion there is a distinct lacking in who the important people are.

    We ordered a bed and mattress from Argos Direct. The price was right the product was right for us. Only thing was we didn't expect the following onslaught of problems. Firstly they rang and informed us of the delivery date. So we booked time off work. They gave us a slot of between 7 and 12 (bear in mind the delivery guys don't work to morning or afternoon delivery slots they work to 2 hour delivery slots). then we had a call to say that the day would have to be changed. Cancel day off and rebook. They informed us that the delivery would be between 12 and 6. cancel that they then rang and ... more

    Ordered a Zoostorm computer online (cat no.507/4598 ) which turned up on time but the specification was incorrect. Wrong OS, Cheaper lower performance graphics adapter. insufficient power supply, no dedicated Antivirus etc. Called Argos explained the situation after which point they collected the item and told me i would get a refund within a week. All i recieved back from Argos to date is a string of lame excuses, apologies and promises to pay back my money (£649.99!!) and a load of stress gained in the process.     Very easy to order on line, but dont expect to get it. We ordered a leather 2 piece suite on line and paid with debit card and was told in stock delivery within 28 days. After waiting 26 days and hearing nothing from them I sent them an email within 2 hours of sending the email I received a phone call saying that they had cancelled the order and they give no reason why the order was cancelled as the suite was on line but at a higher price. They said they would give me a refund after 22 emails to Argos DIrect I eventually got a refund in my bank still waiting for a letter of apology and ... more

    So I placed an order for a new iPod on day announcement, delivery was supposed to be 10 days later due to it not being released officially until 10 days later, straight after placing order I received an email confirming details and delivery date of 10th along with a tracking details.
