Just Weighing Things Up.

AdvantagesBasic but capable.

Disadvantagesmaybe you would not want to put these scales on show.

"...I had a couple of Argos vouchers that needed using and I decided to splash out on a new set of scales for the Christmas baking bash. The Argos Value range mechanical scales are basic but capable and they have one thing in their favour, they are lightweight, small and easy to store away. These Argos Value weighing scales are only £3.99 so you have nothing to lose by trying them out. The weighing scales are made in blue Perspex and the one thing ..." Read review

A great cheap set of scales (Argos Value Range Mechanical Scale)

AdvantagesStore away well, incredibly cheap and do the job

DisadvantagesUgly looking

"...I had a look at Argos online to see which ones they had available in my local store and I found a set for a massive £3.99, ok so they didn't look that pretty but that didn't bother me as they where going to live in a cupboard until I needed them, so off I popped to pick them up. On opening the box I was quite surprised to see that the scales actually felt a little more substantial than they looked in the picture, I expected them to be made of a cheap ..." Read review

Argos Value Kitchen Scales

AdvantagesCheap and do a good job

DisadvantagesQuite basic

"...and ended up purchasing the Argos value ones. As these are from the Argos value range, they are obviously exclusive to Argos stores and can be found under the code 840/0987. They are about as bog standard and basic as you can get and have a really cheap and cheerful look to them, but in my opinion provided they measure ingredients out to some degree of accuracy then they will be perfectly adequate for the amount of usage they get from my kitchen. ..." Weigh it up!

AdvantagesCheap, do the job

DisadvantagesThe dial is positioned in a slightly awkward place

"...of scales. == The scales == The Argos Value Range mechanical scales are exactly like the picture above. They aren't going to win any awards for being the prettiest piece of equipment in your kitchen, but they are basic and do what all scales are meant to do, weigh. The scales are made so that the body of the scales can fit inside the tray when not in use so that the horrid blue plastic cheapness is easily stored away in a cupboard without taking ..." Vivid blue scales - a cheap 'weigh' to brighten your kitchen

AdvantagesInexpensive basic model that works fine.

DisadvantagesFeels a bit cheap - bright blue

"...one. Some reviews on the Argos website say that this is not very accurate but we have found it to be fine, and to be fair most of their reviews are complimentary. It may not be 100% accurate if you need complete accuracy but for our needs it works just fine. It has an adjustable knob on the front to take the pointer to zero. We tend to use this scales quite often - for bread and pizza making mostly. Neither I nor my son has found any problem with ..." Read review

On a scale of 1-5 , these are a four.

AdvantagesEast to clean, calibrate, and read

DisadvantagesRather cheap and ugly looking

"...for £3.99 from my local argos store . These scales are quite small - and in fact the mechanical part of the scale fits nicely into the weighing tray to ensure this doesn't take up much room in a cupboard . This is a good thing in my mind, as the rather cheap looking blue scales are not an item I would choose to leave on display when not in use . They're not the most attractive device after all- but then, I purchased them to weigh food, not to ..." Read review

Bake me some cakes!

AdvantagesCheap, lightweight, look good in the kitchen, great for when baking & cooking

DisadvantagesNot the best scales ever

"...kitchen scales and I got Argos Value Range Mechanical Scale. They were a lot cheaper than other sets of scales in the catalogue and I thought that they would do until I could afford a better pair. They cost only £3.99 which I thought was quite good value for money. The scales are small and very lightweight which I liked as I hate having to lug big heavy things around the kitchen. They are a blue colour and I have found them to be brilliant ..." Read review
