i enjoy shoppig at argos and have done for many years but recently ive found that the check out girls are not as friendly when it comes to the fact that ive ordered online Only to be told instore that i should ring to ensure that the product is there , twice ive found after ordering online then going to the store has the item not been in stock and i would either have to wait or to go to another store 15 miles away! It has not put me off shopping ...

Placed an order online with Argos for the McGill skateboarding helmet - item 010/9695. It was a gift & it was purchased in part because of the graphic design on the helmet. I was sent something (although the same manufacturer) but TOTALLY different and not what is pictured on their website/catalogue. My sent itme was plain grey - not design. I contacted Argos to tell them it was false advertising to offre a product & send something else (it wasn't as if I said I would settle for a substitute) and they didn't apologise or say anything about this. I bought a vacuum cleaner for Argos just over a year ago. We broke the Hose assembly and decided to replace it. After much research and no sucess we called Argos and to our horror we were told that because the product was an import from the US there was no spare parts available for this product!!!! Do you think Argos would have included this on there pack or informed there customer before the purchase is made? Off course not, and now... Some time ago I purchased a lamp from a locla store and then realised I needed another one, but unfortunately they were out stock for nearly two months. Although the online purchasing and stock checker were a vast improvement the system still lacked the human element and from a customer services perspective this was very frustrating. And the only alternative was to go to the town center, but it was worth the wait as the chrone lamp did improve the lighting in my office and the price for these in other stationery office providers were twice the price.
