Advantages Advantages Does a good job

    Disadvantages Disadvantages aftertaste

Drinking a lot of coffee and tea, probably more seriously smoking, has done little to keep my pearly whites looking their best. Over the years such substances have taken there toll, and my teeth are now less pearly white and more a dull yellowy colour, or at least they were. There are numerous miracle wonders on offer and I have tried many of them to no avail, however a while back my wife after hearing nothing but good vibes about Arm & Hammer bought a tube at our local Poundland, for a very reasonable…………….yep £1. I was none too convinced after having several previous failures, but thought ... more

Advantages Advantages Leaves teeth feeling very clean

Disadvantages Disadvantages Paranoia about grinding sound when brushing

Years and years ago back when my nickname was Jaws, thanks to a double set of braces, I was left with some damage to my teeth. Over the years they had discoloured where the braces had been welded on, and had really begun to look quite bad. In an effort to at least slow the problem down I picked up a tube of Arm and Hammer Baking Soda Toothpaste. If ever a product seemed completely in tune with the 1950s then it is Arm and Hammer. The packaging and design is simple to the extreme, with little regard for overall looks. Primarily white, with a red logo and blue text, the only concession to the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Healthy teeth

Disadvantages Disadvantages none in my opinion

Smile and say cheese :o) Your teeth can be called buck teeth, crooked teeth, missing a few teeth here and there. I don’t really care, as long as they are clean. It really makes me bad, when I see people with dirty teeth, weeks of slime that is slowly turning a greenish brown. Ugh. There really is no need for it especially if you use: Arm & Hammer Original Baking Soda Toothpaste. 100ml costs £1.89 (Tesco) The tube is just like any other tube, soft plastic with a lid on top. The tube is white, silver and navy, on the front of the tube is a red circle going around the circle are the words ... more

Advantages Advantages Arm & Hammer fulfils its promises to clean & whiten teeth with their Bicarb paste

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey, some ingredients not natural

Dental Care Baking Soda Toothpaste ~ In Parts! Lack of dental hygiene doesn't just give us halitosis (bad breath) it can lead to far worse health conditions that can even affect our lives..... ~*~ Dental care - Why? ~*~ For example, in May of this year, Health Day News reported, "A genetic link between gum disease (periodontitis) and heart disease has been discovered by German scientists". Although the relationship between periodontitis and coronary heart disease has been known for years, an actual genetic link had not been confirmed. Dr Schaefer, one of the scientist warned that due to this ... more

Advantages Advantages neutralises acidity, bleaching and whitening effect, cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages not great taste, doesnt lather bubbles much

Well it's not my favourite but I use it because of the whitening effect and it's cheaper to get hold of.Right I use two toothpaste and do try others sometime,so that I can compare which is better.I have been using this one lately with a colgate freshmint one. Advantages: Cleaning action. Baking soda neutralises the acids generated all over the mouth after meals.Acid is produced by tiny bugs and bacteria feeding onto the food debris between your teeth. So baking soda is quite efficient in doing that. Whitening and Bleaching It's also a whitening and bleaching toothpaste offering gentle deep ... more

    Advantages Advantages Very white teeth

Disadvantages Disadvantages Could wear your teeth out and nasty taste

Toothpaste is toothpaste as far as I am concerned. I take little interest in it, other than the fact that it can change your stinky breath into a somewhat nicer smell. Therefore, my girlfriend was delegated with the task of providing the toothpaste on our latest two week holiday. She brought along a 50ml tube of Arm & Hammer Extra whitening paste ‘with the power of baking soda’ ~The packaging~ White and blue and just like any other tube of toothpaste, simply average! Rating: 3/5 ~The Smell~ Again, nothing unusual, slightly minty! Not unpleasant, not unique. ~The Texture~ At last, something ... more

Advantages Advantages Makes teeth whiter, removes stains and helps keep plaque at bay.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Taste may not be to everyones liking and can be frothy and messy when used.

Tell me, do you like it exceptionally gentle, every day? I must admit I do. I've been trying it for over a month now and I'm well pleased with the results. In fact it's made me go about smiling at everyone all day long - which some of my office colleagues seem to find most disconcerting. But that's okay. If you've got it, why not flaunt it? So I do. I flash my teeth whenever I can, and the reason? Arm & Hammer Extra Whitening toothpaste, oh, and also because I'm a happy bunny as well. I spotted this strangely named tooth whitener on the supermarket shelf and it just jumped out at me. I somehow ... more

Advantages Advantages Fresh , great results , minty , lasts , good value

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me

As you may , or may not , have surmised I tend to chop and change a little when shopping . I like to find the best value product , but I don't want a poor quality , second best one . I have tried lots of toothpastes over the years and recently have been giving Arm and Hammer's Freshmint Gel a go . It is one of the baking soda range of toothpastes . I had tried the original and found it worked well but couldn't get used to the scouring feeling it seemed to have on my teeth . This Freshmint Gel variety works equally well but for me has a couple of advantages , so this is the one I shall review ... more

Advantages Advantages Leaves your teeth and mouth feeling clean and fresh. Also helps whiten your teeth.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

We have been using Arm & Hammer Baking Soda toothpaste since 1985 when we were first introduced to it during a stay at our cousin’s house in New Jersey. At the time, Arm & Hammer was not available in the UK. Actually, if I remember rightly, there was no comparable brand of toothpaste containing baking soda that we knew of on the UK market. By the end of our week’s stay, we were completely and utterly hooked on it. The untouched Colgate tube brought with us from home was left in the bathroom as payment and we found ourselves adding our new found Arm & Hammer to our shopping list to ... more

    Advantages Advantages clean feeling

    Disadvantages Disadvantages contains flouride

I no longer buy toothpaste containing flouride, but One of the last ones I purchased was arm & hammer dental care baking soda toothpaste. I have since been on the look out for healthier alternatives. More about that later. My opinion of the baking soda flavour has changed. When I first tried it I found it so sour that i felt a little ill when brushing my teeth. My gran used to tell me to dip my toothbrush in bicarbonate of soda, sodium bicarbonate, or as she would say, "bicarb" (baking soda is probably the American way of saying it?) in order to get whiter teeth the natural way. Yeeuch. Your ... more
