A Tale of Two Curries

Advantages: Well priced and delicious
Disadvantages: May be slightly small for two people with large appetites

...under £16. This bag from Asda retails for approximately £5.99. Admittedly, you don't get as much in the bag per portion as you would from the takeaway, but its still a good deal if you fancy a curry. In fact, if you are of particularly large appetite, you could buy the whole bag for yourself, still spend less than you would at the takeaway, and get more for your money! :) +Heating+ The entire meal can be done in the microwave, or, luckily for me, ...
...to nuke it in the microwave than in the oven, but its decidedly more tricky. After all, you have five containers and one packet of naan breads to heat, and one small microwave. See the problem here? I tried it at my parents house, and it was practically impossible to get everything hot at the same time (and soggy, cold onion bhajis are really no fun). So, if you can wait that long, just stick it all in the oven - it makes for an easier life :) +Summary+ ...

The Takeaway to take home?

Advantages: A quick easy takeaway at a very good price
Disadvantages: It's not the real thing

...trot to our brand new Asda to see what takeaway meals I could find. There are several to choose from, with dishes varying from Chicken Korma, Chicken Jalfrezi and Chicken Tikka Massalla. If you're not a chicken lover, I would imagine tehre isn't much for you to choose from. The one that appealled to me was Asda's Good For You Indian Takeaway meal for 2. The contents of which are: 1 x Mild Chicken Korma 1 x Medium Chicken Jalfrezi 2 x Portions ...
...thought, and with a bargain price of 5.42 (reduced a whole 6p from 5.48), it was a lot cheaper than if those menus were not filling up some recycling plant. The whole meal can be cooked in the oven in 30 minutes. The meat dishes need 25-30 minutes, the rice 15-20 minutes and the Naan bread 6-7 minutes. All at gas mark 5 (190C/375F). You can also microwave the meat and the rice, but i didn't fancy this. For your info - the rice needs 3 minutes, and ...

just as good as an indian restaurant takeaway

Advantages: good value for money, good choice of curries
Disadvantages: none

...so when i went to asda i was pleased to see i could but a takeaway for two for just £5.70. My boyfriend has never really tried curries so we thought this was a great way to try a few different kinds of curries without spending a fortune. There are a few curries to try including chicken korma, chicken jalfrezi and chicken tikka massalla. Each takeaway for two comes with two curries, two portions of rice, two naan breads and two mini onion bajis. ...
...and i found that the asda korma was just as good as any other one i have had. It was lovely and creamy. The onion bajis were delicious as well however they are very small but with all the rest of the items you get it doesnt really matter that they are small and they are not really ment as a starter more as an accompanment to the meal.they are easy to cook as you just put everything in the oven for about 20mins. The meals can be found in the chiller ...
