Advantages: absorbant, attractive, velcro tabs Disadvantages: not quite up to the standard of better brands
I am a mother of three children, and have always sworn by the best for each child. That includes my choice of nappies. SInce my first son was born, I have used Pampers. This week I found myself shopping on a REALLY tight budget, so all brand names just had to go. Usually, tight budget or not, I would still buy Pampers, but because my son is 18 months old now, and his little bottom is a little more tolerant, I decided to give Asda's Little Angels ... ...24 nappies, a great cost, but is it a great nappy?
Firstly, the packagaing is quite uninspiring. Lilac and blue in colour, they would not grab your attention when among other, brighter packages. The information is clear on the front, the size and type of nappy printed in large lettering for easy viewing. There are five symbols across the top of the packet, which tell me that the nappies are hypoallergenic, have a thinner absorbant core, use baby ...

...telling me for ages that Asda was very cheep and worth a visit (I'm not sure she's ever actually been herself!). There's a really big Asda not far from my home so I thought I'd give it a go and try and save a bit of money if possible. The shop itself was huge and I felt a bit lost for a while but I eventually found everything I needed. I went to the baby aisle last and saw a lady at the end of the row trying to tell people about Asda brand nappies. ... ...trying to raise sales of Asda brand nappies and was offering out coupons to shoppers which would make a pack of nappies cost only a pound. With my first child I tried Tesco nappies and they fell apart (bits from the lining seemed to come apart from the nappy and made quite a mess) and didn't fit very well so I was a bit apprehensive, but I thought worst case scenario I'd have to buy a new pack of Pampers post pay day. I got a pack of Asda Comfort ...

...legs.
I first tried Asda nappies through a free sample I was given. I thought, well, its one nappy, it was free, and if I hate them, I will know never to waste money on an entire package. I was very pleased at the performance of this trial nappy, so on my list it went. At £4.99 for a convenience-sized pack, it is not too terribly dear, but not all that much cheaper than Huggies or Pampers. 50 pence to £1 difference depending on where you live, and ... ...pence really add up. Also, Asda will take Pampers and Huggies vouchers for them. Yes, really.
As for discussing the quality and style of an Asda nappy, I am afraid Kimberly-Clark needs to look for a mole at their factory. It looks, fits, and performs just like a Huggies. branded nappy for the most part. It had the same bluish soft inner lining; the same soft double elasticised legs, and the little upside down pocket thing at the gathered back. The ...

Advantages: Cost effective, comfortable, reduce nappy rash Disadvantages: Sizes are smaller than other brands
...As you can see, Asda nappies are by far the cheapest. To make things even better, it is possible to by them in larger packets, approximately £6.50 for around 70/80 nappies (depending on the size). ABSORBANCY AND LEAKAGES:
Many people will use the argument that you pay for quality. But in this case you don't! When my lil' one started using Asda nappies, i'll admit is was pretty much because they were the cheapest. But then i began to realise that ... ...wasnt the case with the Asda brand nappies - due to the thick absorbant lining. When my baby started crawling around, i found that keeping a nappy up AND stopping it from leaking became a real problem. But luckily, Asda nappies had a solution for this too. Their Action Fit range (pretty much the equivalent of Pamers Active Fit!) have extra stretchy sides, and extra sticky resusable textile tape fasteners; meaning that builder's bum and undone nappies ...

...BUT...are they any better than Asda nappies.
Might just be my opinion here , but to be quite honest ...NO....they are not!
At the end of the day its there to do its job.
I'm not praising all cheaper nappies here, but the Asda ones are particulary good.
They are just as absorbent, equally as leak proof and keep all the smell in.
And this is the best bit....... they are miles cheaper.
I'm not calling anyone a snob here, but I have noticed that ... ...range of sizes to cater for everything from a newbor

...On a shopping trip to Asda I thought I would give their nappies a try, at first I was put off about them not being one of the leading brands but 8 months on I must admit I will never be using any other brand than Asda's.

The nappies are well packed and are branded 'ASDA little angels' 'Comfort Dry', ... ...are normally £3.95 yet you can purchase 3 packets for £10 giving you a saving of £1.85. I seem to find that I am getting through a lot less nappies now that I am using these.

...I was converted to Asda nappies (Little Angels NOT Smartprice!) after a friend gave me 5 of her sons to try out on my son after i complained of my son constantly weeing up his back whilst using Pampers.
COST: These nappies cost £3.97 per pack (of 32). Other brands can be up to a £1 more for the same, or even less nappies. They can also be found on special offer of 3 packs for £10.00 - the saving on this is massive compared to all other brands. And ... ...buy in bulk. If need be, you can also buy bumper packs. ABSORBANCY AND FIT
As previously stated, I started using these nappies as was told you get no leakages. It states on the packaging there is an extra lining inside to stop the nappy leaking. This works a treat. The only time we ever have leaks is when my son has a lie in and sleeps for over 12 hours (he does wee a lot!), and with poo's, this is the same, ...

These nappies cost £3.97 for 32 nappies. This is a lot less cheaper than other brands, and they contain more nappies per pack. My mum may call me a cheapskate and my sister's a huggies fan, but I swear by Asda's nappies. I have a 4 week old son and an 18 month old daughter who both wear them and I have never had a problem with leakage, splitting or comfort. As for absorbancy, my daughter could pee for England, and even throughout the night they stay dry and comfortable.
They fit extremely well, compared to huggies which tend to be too big for a newborn bum, and don't stick ... ...times huggies came undone due to the tabs only sticking on a certain part of the nappy.

To be quite honest when I had my son almost three years ago, I never considered using any nappies on him other than a brand name. When I had my daughter three months ago I intended on doing exactly the same with her, until fate lent a hand one night about six weeks ago. We had gone to our local Asda's store to do the weekly shopping and my daughter decided to dirty her nappy. Unfortunately I had forgotten to put her changing bag in and the only nappies ... ...own brand. I didn't really want to use one on her, but didn't have a lot of choice and thought that a couple of hours with one on wouldn't hurt her.
I was pleasantly surprised when I put the nappy on her as to how soft they felt against her skin. They were very easy to put on her and had deep elasticated legs, which fitted well. They basically have two velcro type tabs on the side which attach to a strip on the front of the nappy, which has cute ...

...our usual shoppping spree around Asda and we were finding ways to save money, then it came to the baby aisle. They did a jumbo box of nappies, by Asda George and at £9.97 for 93 nappies (working out at 10.7p per nappy) I couldnt grumble. Now for the baby dry test.
I was a bit dubious that they wouldnt hold much, but my my suprise she stayed dry for a lot longer than the other nappies. I was impressed!
To anyone who wants to try them out they come ... ...Baby on them. I suppose the different colours represent the sizes. They have cute little pictures of animals on the velcro bit of the nappy. What more could you ask for such a great price?? ...

Advantages: Great value for money, effective - does what they are supposed to Disadvantages: None
I first tried Asda nappies as my usual mainstream brand was out of stock and the price was extrmemly tempting too, and I haven't looked back since.
I found with my previous brand that leakages were common place and as a new Mum thought this was the 'norm', however once starting to use the Asda nappies I realised how wrong I had been. The cuffs on the legs of the nappies are so snug and effective they prevent even the slightest leakage.
The quality ... ...and my children have NEVER experienced nappy rash whilst wearing these nappies, despite having done so with the leading brands.
The patterns on the outside of the nappies are fun and bright and my children always enjoyed the different pictures and choosing which one to have next.
