A smartly priced and handy blender

AdvantagesAffordable, Makes lovely soup

DisadvantagesA little bulky, heavy and noisy, Might melt in high temperature

"...then). What made me chose Asda is because of the convenience. As I do not own a car, I usually do my online shopping especially when I want to buy heavy liquid stuff such as milk, detergent, drinks etc. So I clicked on Asda's website and got the blender - £4.18 I paid. The blender comes in a cardboard box with the usual green and white Smart Price logo on it. Inside the box you will find two pieces of equipment. One with an a blade and the other ..." Read review

Smart priced budget hand blender

AdvantagesCheap and does the job

DisadvantagesShort cable

"...got my hand blender at Asda and it was part of their smart price range of budget products and only cost £4.18 which is pretty incredible when you think about it as £4.18 wouldn't even buy me half a lip gloss. I think this is probably the cheapest thing I have ever bought for the kitchen as even my mugs cost more than this and it is certainly cheap for an electrical product. I was a little bit suspicious about how the quality for was going to be but ..." Read review

A brilliant budget blender!

AdvantagesGood price, works well, easy to clean.

DisadvantagesSlightly bulky.

"Those of you that regularly read my reviews will know that I had to live without a cooker for around five months... this was not a nice experience and since we've bought a new one I've literally been craving fresh, home cooked food. I am also attempting to save some money and when I made a spending diary one month I saw where a bulk of my cash goes - on my work lunches - a sandwich here and a fresh wrap all add up. So I decided, from now on I was ..." Read review

Ouch, should it get this hot?

AdvantagesWorked well for the first few weeks

DisadvantagesAfter a while the body of the blender became so hot it actually burned my skin

"...confidence) I took out this Asda blender and started blitzing. I knew I'd have to take it slowly as hand blenders aren't designed to be used as heavily as the larger type. I didn't think it would be unreasonable however to expect it to handle two small bowls before threatening to spontaneously combust! It started off just feeling a bit warm, and when I say 'a bit' I mean the heat was barely noticeable - until the handle of the blender suddenly became ..." Read review

Bargain blender

AdvantagesCheap!

DisadvantagesThe cord is too short

"...other extreme and buy an Asda Smart Price hand blender. I paid about £4.50 for this, which for the money was well worth a gamble. Inside the box there is the blender and one blade attachment. There was a simple instruction book but it did the job and within minutes I was ready to get blending! The blender itself is white in colour and not the prettiest, so if you are buying one I'd recommend finding a space in a drawer or cupboard to save ..." Read review

how is this hand blender this cheap?

AdvantagesCHEAP, works well

Disadvantagesnone

"I bought this Asda hand held blender for making soups when I started being a bit heath conscious and trying to drop a few kilos. -----The Asda hand held blender---- The blender comes packaged in a basic cardboard box together with a minimal instruction book that describeds the safety regulations (CE marking etc.) and how to operate the appliance. It plugs in via a cord that is around three quarters of a metre long which is reasonable for ..." Read review

A blendable bargain!

AdvantagesCheap, long-lasting, works well

DisadvantagesNone

"...I am reviewing is the Asda one however the other we have is from Sainsburys and is identical apart from the different coloured button so if you don't have one of those shops near than try the other! We have had this for a while so cannot remember how much it cost but according to Asda's website it is reduced to £4.18 from £4.96 at the moment. For just over £4 you can get a great blender for soups and smoothies! The motor is 200W which I will ..." Read review

Blender of Heat...

AdvantagesWorked like an average blender for the first couple weeks

DisadvantagesBurnt the skin of my hand after a while

"...confidence) I took out this Asda blender and started blitzing. I knew I'd have to take it slowly as hand blenders aren't designed to be used as heavily as the larger type. Great Value for Money

Advantagesgood value

Disadvantagesnone found so far

"I bought this to make home made soups but have used it for much more, I now make home made pasta sauces, I used to make the perfect mashed potatoes (no more lumps) and to blend my baby nephews food. You can alter the consistency of food, the longer you use it for the smoother something will go so after some practise you get used to how long to blend something for pasta sauce using tinned tomatoes I give it a 20 second blast moving it quickly around ..."
