    Advantages Advantages Cheap. Fairly tasty and not too unhealthy. Easy to use.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Gritty and unsubstantial. Can-opener needed.

    ~~*~~ Asda Smartprice Hotdogs ~~*~~ Before I begin, I have a confession to make. The Pig and I have a new member of the family. She’s lived with us for 9 long months and I feel she’s ready to make her debut on the internet. Her name is Puddle Permhead and she’s a very naughty Irish Water Spaniel. She needs stimulation (training of any variety) or she finds her own entertainment such as burying keys, opening doors, emptying bins… you get the picture. The reason the Permhead is so important to this review is because she’s the one that eats the hotdogs, and not myself. I reward my dogs with food ... more

    I've always liked hotdogs; I remember eating them quite often all cut up into cute little pieces whenever I'd go for tea at my friend's house. Though there was a time when, for whatever reason, I had not had any for a while. When I stumbled across the incredibly cheap tin of 8 hot dogs from Asda's Smart Price range, at a mere 32p, I couldn't help myself and into the trolley they went! A craving bubbling up inside me, I decided to have my hotdogs for lunch. I'd not bought hot dog buns (*slaps self on forehead*), so I had to settle for a brown-bread sandwich.     I like a Hot Dog in a proper little sub roll, with a nice splodge of ketchup and some Onions. Since I am still trying to economise, I have been trying budget brands more of late. It's surprising how much you can save on an item when you downshift a brand. Anway this is Asda's Value version of Hot Dog sausages. You get 8 in a tin and they cost a bargain 31p. The packaging isn't anything exciting. It is a tin which has a white label going round it and the writing is green on it (not like the picture that there is on here).
