Did you hear about the constipated accountant? He couldn't budget so he had to work it out with a pencil and paper. There is a dazzling selection of toilet rolls available nowadays - quilted, coated, scented, antibacterial, with added moisturiser , with pretty patterns, toilet rolls designed to perfectly complement your hat. Well, maybe not the last one . But our bottoms must surely be the most pampered they have been in years . Me, I'm not too fussy, in fact, with the credit crunch I'm downgrading most of my brands to save a little money - so, bog standard bog roll for me . Unlike the poor ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap to buy!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages don't last long!

when it comes to toilet roll it is something that I penny pinch on really as my belief is you flush it away so why spend pounds on the stuff? The packaging~ Comes in a white plastic bag with the Asda smart price symbol clearly shown. This pack contains twelve rolls, you can also get them in packs of four. This is made form recycled paper. Myself using it~ Recentely I moved out of a flat share that I was in with my best mate Melanie and moved into a flat on my own. Times are hard so i desided to make some cut backs and started buying basic shop brands this is when i came across this toilet ... more

    Advantages Advantages good price,

Disadvantages Disadvantages two ply layers separate, not overly soft

I'm always one for economising and making cuts where I can, especially in these times and I really hate spending money on 'essentials' anyway (especially when they just get flushed down the loo!) so when I saw this on the shelf in Asda and compared its price to that of the other brands on the shelf, I though I'd give it a try. At around 40p for 4 rolls, it was by far and away a snip! Ok, so when I got it home I was pleased to find it wasn't the cheap, tracing paper type toilet roll I remember from my school days (and public toilets) that is just painful to use, so that was a good start. It ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap and cheerful. Just about does the job.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not very absorbent. Bit rough when used.

Whilst doing my weekly shopping I came across the toiletries aisle, and with my relatively low budget, opted to peruse the cheaper wares. Normally when I buy toilet paper in particular I am not too fussy (the colour matters not as I believe it's all going to the same place anyway). I have to say that it was the stonkingly low price that first attracted me to Asda's very own Smartprice toilet rolls, at 40p for 4 rolls. A bargain you may think, but as to be expected, this is evident through the quality of the rolls themselves. The packaging is very basic (plain transparent wrapping with what it ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages hard and uncomfortable

We have been trying to cut back recently and loo paper is one of the things my other half has decided to cut back on - at the cost of our poor bottoms! We are now buying Asda Smartprice White Toilet Tissue. For twelve rolls we pay £1.26 which is really very cheap when you compare it to brand names but my goodness it is not a comfortable paper to use. It is white (well, off white really) and recycled.Itcomes very palinly packaged in simple white plastic paper with no pretty patterns on the front - well, what would you expect for that price? It is two ply and the sqaures come off fairly easily ... more
