Audi 100 2.0E

bought a 1994 2 litre 100 as a replacement for my mondeo. ok needed the bonnet sprayed all done now. paid a measly 300 quid what a car one breakdown in 12 months and 20000 miles only a fuel pump ,cheap from a vw/audi specialist and easy enough to replace with basic diy knowledge. flew through the mot with 2 minor faults,just turned 175000 miles and runs sweeter than most new cars ( loads nicer 2 drive than my wifes astra with half the miles) debaged it and fitted it with private plates no one knows what the hell it is. one of the best cars i owned and i ve owned over 40 cars in 17 years . ok ... more

I bought the 100 as a second car to my mk4 golf tdi, for occasional use (I like the old Audi's). I got it for £400 with 100K on the clock and FSH - it didn't run though but just needed a new ECU (£10 off eBay!). I decided on this car after visiting my local breakers yard and noticing that the B3 ('91 onwards) Audi 100 was extremely well built and was, it seemed, a mk4 Passat underneath! It's great to drive - much better than all previous standard family Audi's - mainly due to its updated front suspension. The Audi 100 is a spacious and luxurious piece of automotive excellence, and when you include the automatic transmission instead of the manual one, its as though you are driving in a big cloud of candy floss but not as sticky! I bought this after a disastrous affair with a VW golf and just wanted a car that could get me from A to B and not need me to try and coax it in to existence with promises of new foot well mats or a new exhaust! Quality car. Very large boot space. Quality finish. Try and buy one with the extra three sports dials which include oil pressure, clock and temperature gauge. Audi leather steering wheel is quality. I get 425 miles to a full tank of petrol about £63 to fill up at present 80p litre. Only complaint is that the two litre engine does not feel strong enough. Interior is very comfortable and great on long journeys. Suspension is the best I have had on a car. Very smooth ride and handles very well on cornering.
