Fast, sporty but subtle, great handling

Fuel economy, lots of abused cars out there

I own a 2002 S3 225bhp. In a few words - fast, good mid range torque, sporty look without having the boy racer look. It's a classy car which is quicker than most on the road. The only down points, and this is being picky is the fuel economy, noticeable turbo lag (especially when more than 2...

“Audi s3 2001”

excellent solid package with lots of credability

mabye not wild enough for some

I bought my audi s3 in january, so after 6 months of ownership I`d thought I would write a review. Cost of the s3 was expensive compared to most other hot hatches I paid £13k for a 2001 with 34,000 miles with full service history. Options wise the list is almost endless you can have the usual...

“2007 Audi S3”

Performance, handling, 4 wheel drive

Expensive, rear leg room

I have just collected my 2007 Audi S3....in one word "amazing". The cost price of the car was approx £29000, which to be honest is overly expensive, but you get what you pay for. 265bhp, 4 wheel drive, 2.0 litre turbo engine and 0-60mph in just over 5 seconds. I ordered the car in Dolphin Grey...

Fast, fun, great drive!

Getting into the back seats

This review is written by a female, so if you want all the stats, get a car mag! My husband has an S3 for 3 years as his company car and I have to say it was the best car we've ever had! Drive wise it was fabulous - it's very quick, steering is responsive and it sticks to the road like glue, just...

love the car have owned it for over 2 years, at 1450kg is a bit too much for a small engine, hate the fact the Haldex system is working only when it wants to, Haldex controller to P 4WD coast around £600! fuel economy is a pain. when pushed it returns 10mpg. Clutch replacement cost £900 in parts alone. so watch out. gears are delicate, and could have a knock sound. unless Re-maped the engine coughs out from reall power at 5500RPM. lots of smooth torque. can be as fun as TDI on the motorway. and also as refined as anything in town and from a stand take off. over all still a sweet car and hold their value above average hatchbacks.

I looked at getting a mark 1 Audi S3 when they were new. I still have a copy of the brochure I've had a look at the standard equipment and isofix was an optional extra on all A3 models including the S3. Hopefully you will be able to find one with them fitted!
