Advantages Advantages Size and Gold medal

    Disadvantages Disadvantages ...scared

"With Hindsight-The Audley Harrison Career" By Scott Graveson With the Olympics fast approaching, and Frankie Gavin's dissapointment with the scales, lets remember out last big man to win the Gold Medal, the "Great A Farce" Audley Harrison. Roll your minds back to 2000, Sydney in fact you were probably sleeping, I know as Audley beat Mukhtarkhan Dildabekov (of Kazakhstan) 30-16 in the final of the boxing at the highest weight (Super heavyweight, 91 KG+). On his way to the final Audley had beaten: Defeated Alexei Lezin (Russia) TKO 4 Defeated Alexey Mazikin (Ukraine) points Defeated Paolo Vidoz ... more

Advantages Advantages Big Strong and fast

Disadvantages Disadvantages Suffered a broken hand as an amateur, could that cause him problems

After winning his gold medal with a convincing campaign (he even managed this with a broken hand). He has now embarked on his professional career. One fight against a mediocre opponent is too soon to really see what quality the man has. But I will give my thoughts on what I hope will be a successful career, one that should result with him getting at least one professional world title belt. Height.. At 6 foot 5 inches he will tower over most opponents. Weight.. His debut at 18 stone 8 pounds, is in keeping with his height and it will give his opponents a heavy punch. Movement.. Although his ... more

Advantages Advantages Potential to be good

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not preparing properly

I am a big fight fan so when Audley Harrison decided he was going to go professional, I like many others thought boxing was coming home. Britain hasn't had a new heavyweight boxer coming up through the ranks for a long time now. Even though Harrison is around 30 years of age he is still Britain’s new boy. Obviously he gets loads of hype because of it but is he playing up to it? In my opinion, yes. Admittedly I don't know much about his amateur career but I watched him in the Olympics and he looked alright. There was one particular fight, I think it was the Semi-Final of the Olympics where he ... more

Advantages Advantages Has amazing potential and could go far.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Cockiness

Three fights in to Audley Harrison's professional career and he still hasn't showed us what he is capable of. He may have a 100% career record, but he hasn't fought someone really capable of giving him a run for his money. His second opponent Derek McAfferty showed that Audley has weaknesses, but lacked a finsihing touch and Audley overpowered him. His first fight was a joke. We had barely settled down to watch the fight when Audley knocked out Middleton in the first round. His third bout against Piotr Jurczyk was not up to par and the referee stopped the fight in the second round in Audley's ... more

    Advantages Advantages fitness

    Disadvantages Disadvantages you get critisized

After audley harrisons gold medal spectacular he managed just to get damaged with a broken hand and nothing like paul ingle did a few months ago. Audley has also had several fights with other people but the most recent fight that audley had was a very bad performance, his fitness wasn’t as good and he looked to be in good form at the olympics but it seems he domanates the coaches. I think he needs more pushing so his career is successful and not a dead in a few months. Back in the olympics audlery harrison was the talk of the press. What happened to him when he fights now, noone heres ... more

Advantages Advantages A brilliant young boxer who shows world class promise and talent

Disadvantages Disadvantages There is a strong field of very good heavyweight out there

I am a great boxing fan and my two favourite boxers being British are Lennox Lewis and ofcourse Audley Harrison. Now Lennox seems sadly after his best I am looking forward to the rise into professional boxing of Audley Harrison and I am looking forward to his attack on the World Championship belt. Everyone saw him fight against Micheal Middleton which was extremely impressive but not much of a contest at all if it has to be said. Audley will slowly be fighting better and better people until in a few years he will truely be at world class level. He has made sure that he has not been contracted ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good right hook

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slower than other heavyweights

Should Audley Harrison get a title shot against the champion? I think that Audley Harrison is ready for the big fights now, he's been training really hard after he won the gold medal in the Sydney olympics. I think that Audley Harrison will do well because some of the best boxers have won gold medals in the olympics in there earlier years of boxers like Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield. Its about time that an English boxer should do well this year, and i think that Audley can do the business and get his hands on the world championship belt to prove the critics wrong. I think he should fight ... more

    Advantages Advantages strong, fast, smart

    Disadvantages Disadvantages inexperienced

Audley Harrion claimed Commonwealth Gold at the Sydney Games and makes his pro debut at Wembley Arena on May 19. His challenger is as yet undecided - but a victory in front of a partisan home crowd and shown live on the BBC is already a mere formality. The brutish bruiser will certainly come up with the goods and perform on the night and rise up the first rung on the ladder of heavyweight glory. His goal is to become world champ in the fastest time ever and oi my opinion he has a real chance of doing just that. He's fast, strong and intelligent (with a degree to his name) and likely to a be a ... more
