The policy was automaticlly renewed without my knowledge. As soon as I received the notification I went online and found the SAME company quote me for the same insurance for £43.00 less. I called immediately to question this and was told there are web discounts. I asked if I could cancel and take out the web insurance with the SAME COMPANY. Auto trader car insurance,DO NOT USE THEM.I decided to change my vehicle to a larger car due to towing concerns.When i spoke to them about changing the vehicleand to ammend the policy i was told i had to cancel the policy and start another which i did but only got a small amount of the premium back.I then insured my wife on the old car paying on installments just over the school summer holiday period,imagine my surprise when aftrer paying 5 monthly instalments i asked to cancel and was told i had to pay 195.00 +35 admin fee to cancel,due to what they say is small print,even tho the underwriter do give autotrader a full discount. ...

big con DONT do it, they lie steal and cheat, when i decided to cancel my policy because they asked for a rediculous amount to change to a vehicle, i was told i would get £116 back minus a £35 cancelalation fee wich i thought fair enuf il get just over £80 back, then they decided to charge £66 for absolutly nothing leaving me with £14 which realy annoyed me so i told them to shuv it, if they are that desprate for money that they need to steal it then they are welcome to it. let me no your thoughts at phil.kerr@hotmail.co.uk ...

I chose to email my NCD to the same address and did not get a response. They have since wrote to me and said that my NCD has not been received and they will be charging me extra as a starter. I too have 9 years NCD. This company is BISL ltd and underwrites many insurances. Mine is under the "Post Office" name, but they also sell under man other high street brands such as M&S etc.. ...

DO NOT USE AUTOTRADER INSURANCE!!!! They may seem cheap (not that cheap when you look around) but they are cheap for a reason. I went to cancel my policy after 18 months (they automatically renew) and despite the wording in the very small print "you MAY have to pay upto 80% of the remainding policy" they wanted 80% plus £35 admin charge to cancel the insurance after I sold the car.
