Advantages Advantages Loads of cars, no hard selling

Disadvantages Disadvantages You might get passed from person to person in the show room

Hubby decided it was time for a new car, and seeing as we don’t have any spare cash at the moment it was definitely going to be second hand and preferably as cheap as possible at a standard that we liked. Having heard all the adverts for available car.com we thought we would go and have a look around one of their forecourts just to get an idea of what we could get for what money. Availablecar.com are also available on line although not all cars in their show room are on line so it’s worth a visit to see what new vehicles have come in. They deal with cars ranging from £3000 to £15,000 so if you ... more

Advantages Advantages Wide choice, low pressure environment, competitive prices

Disadvantages Disadvantages There's not enough of them about!

We decided to visit Availablecar.com one Bank Holiday "for a look" having seen adverts and driven past their showroom at Castle Donington a few times. We were looking for long overdue MPV having had no joy in Autotrader and local used car dealers in Derbyshire..... and we were pleasantly surprised by what we encountered. Having had only limited experience of purchasing cars through "dealers" as such, I expected to be pounced on and hounded into looking at what THEY wanted me to look at - but nothing could be further from this. You walk in and simply get handed a booklet with all their current ... more

Advantages Advantages Superb Range of Vehicles, Genuine Price Promise, No Hassle Staff

Disadvantages Disadvantages I really can't think of any !!

After reading a fair few positive reviews of Available Car Supermarket, I decided to travel from Blackpool to view a Nissan Almera Tino that I'd seen advertised. When entering the reception, I was immediately greeted and asked if I'd visited before as they gave me a full list of the vehicles available. I told them I was looking for a specific car, they found the car I was interested in and pointed me in the direction as to where the vehicle would be parked. I was told the car would be unlocked and could view the car inside and out at my leisure, should I need any assistance I was to only ask ... more

Advantages Advantages wide range for selection

Disadvantages Disadvantages sometimes long waiting times

I bought my "new" used car about a month ago and am very happy with it. And as well with the service of available cars in castle donington. Apart from a bit of bad luck when I tried to pick up my car. But more on that later. I'll first give you some info about this "car supermarket". Choice and availability Available car is a quite big "shop" to buy new and (mainly) used cars. They have more than 700 cars on site on the East Midlands, 10 acre car supermarket display, preparation, and distribution centre, located 1 mile from M1, Castle Donington and they get new stock nearly daily. That gives ... more

Advantages Advantages Good choice and no pressure

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fixed prices, short test drives

First off I must say that I didn't end up buying a car from Available Car, as they didn't have the model I decided to buy, but they impressed me so much I thought I'd write about my experiences with them. When I first heard of Available Car, the name put me off as I thought it would be another of these places more interested in the finance than the car. However after reading some reviews on Ciao, we decided to visit. First impressions were good - the showroom looks small from the front, but most of the cars are outside at the back. Everything was clean and tidy. We picked up a stock list from ... more

    Advantages Advantages Stress free!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too long a lead time for collection

I went along to Available Car in Castle Donnington a couple of Sundays ago looking to purchase a nearly new Ford Focus. It was overall an excellent experience and took the stress out of what can be a stressful transaction. The premise of Available Car is that there are no salesmen showing you around the cars and therefore no hard sell. You walk into a large showroom which has a few cars on the right hand side and seating areas on the left. You are met by a greeter who informs you of the procedure which is this: They hand you a stock list which has basic details of all the cars in stock, then ... more

Advantages Advantages Very tidy clean cars, no high pressure sales

Disadvantages Disadvantages optional extras can be had elsewhere for much less

We bought a car from Available car Sutton-in-ashfield 2 years ago and we are just returning to upgrade to a larger one due to a growing family! We have been looking around many garages/main dealers and this place stands well above the rest in terms of the quality of the vehicles and the no-pressure approach of the sales team. The cars are prepared to a very high standard and you never feel pressured at any time. The finance is a reasonable rate but you do need a lot of ID with you to apply. The prices of the cars are at the top end of the scale but you do get an "as new" car even if its 3-4 ... more

Advantages Advantages Friendly, relaxed sales staff; large choice of cars; reasonable, fixed prices

Disadvantages Disadvantages Questionable mechanical checks and valeting

I had come across Available Car on their website about a year ago. I was very struck by their prices and the wide choice of cars. I was particularly interested in a Ford Fiesta Zetec that they had, so after phoning, I travelled the 200 miles by train from Kent to take a look. Someone from Available Car had arranged to meet me at Long Eaton train station, and he had a very pleasant manner. Overall, I was very impressed by their non-pressurised approach to selling cars. They have a very large selection of cars on an outdoor forecourt, which are arranged in order of type and size. When I went in ... more

    Advantages Advantages None

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor service

Having purchased a 2yr old car for £7800 it was found to have very defective brakes, door locks inoperative and a steering problem, the 77 point check that they suppsedly do was obviously not done, after 3 months of being pushed around and fed lots of bulls**t they eventually fixed the brakes and lock but still couldnt fix the steering problem, the had the car back 7 times and it still wasnt repaired, it was sent to main dealers twice who said that the problem could not be physically solved. I went back to Available Car and asked for a full refund or a vehicle equal to the amount of what I ... more
