Advantages: Makes your hair smell and feel fantastic Disadvantages: Can be pricey.
Aveda makes a large range of hair care products. They are not tested upon animals and are made from natural ingredients.
I have already tried the Aveda range before, and was impressed by this product when I saw it on QVC. You can also buy it from Aveda hair salons and over the internet from Aveda.com.
This is a pricey product. It comes in a range of sizes from 250ml to a full litre pump bottle. Prices start at about £10 to £40 for the litre pump. ... ...long way. I have a friend who bought the litre bottle and it lasted for 6 months of daily use.
I bought the 250ml bottle as part of a special offer that included the conditioner for £20. The secret of the shampoo is that you leave it on for a few minutes for the moisturising benefits of the Sap Moss to take effect before you wash it off. The conditioner is simply a detangler.
The fragrance is unusual and woody, but I quite like it and find that ...

Advantages: very moisturising ideal for post-treatment (colouring/perming/straightened hair) Disadvantages: can be too heavy for those with fine stright hair
I generally find aveda shampoo's and conditioners to be something of a hit and miss..some are either very very good and others leave my hair looking straw like and my scalp itchy... in the case of sap moss I would firmly put this into the former catergory. It was reccomended to me when my hair was at its driest and this certainly softened it up. It comes long tubes and the shampoo has a very unusually thick texture. It is actually thicker in consistancy ... ...this line has discontinued at aveda shops I thik you can still buy the litre bottles from Ebay and other online shops - try a google search and quite a reasonable price too and considering how long a litre worth of shampoo lasts its a good investment - the best thing about aveda its always good value for money when you buy in bulk! ...

Advantages: Softer hair Disadvantages: dull and fluffy hair!!!
...lover of nearly all things Aveda this is hard to write.
I saw Sap Moss being promoted on a well known Tv shopping channel and it sounded like it was the answer to all my hair woes.
When I purchased the shampoo I was impressed by the pearly gold coloured appearance, and simple packaging. It looked truly expensive, and having used many of Aveda's products before I was optimistic of it delivering all its promises.
The very next morning I decided ... ...that I noticed was the dreadful pungent smell. I followed the instructions of the shop assistant to leave it on longer than normal shampoo to allow it to penetrate and "work its magic".
I used my usual conditioner, and admit my hair combed through well with no tangles. But upon blowdrying it, it became seriously puffed up and frizzy, something which I had never experienced in my lifetime. I can't deny that the condition was a bit better than normal, ...

Advantages: Extremely conditioning Disadvantages: The smell!
This shampoo and conditioner saved my hair. After years of blow drying and straightening my hair was left frazzled dry like straw at the ends and my naturally straightish (but with a kink in it) hair would dry all poofy without any heat. After initial uses – I did notice my hair to be softer but it wasn’t until I finished a whole bottle of both (the shampoo and coditioner) that I realised that it had really nourished and added sooo much moisture ... ...it was beginning to go back to the way it did before I destroyed it. The shampoo has a wonderfully thick creamy texture. It is different in that it is the shampoo that you have to leave on for longer before washing off and the conditioner you can apply and wash off immediately. The only downside I would say is the smell – it kind of smells a bit ‘earthy’. But you do get used to it. It is expensive too (cost me about £18 for the shampoo and conditioner) ...

Advantages: No detergant, not tested on animals and great for coloured hair Disadvantages: not a great smell
...about this shampoo. There are aveda salons in the uk but the shampoo is double the price. Some online hair dressers sell it but the price generally is about Fifteen pound per 250ml.
I bought the large one litre bottle and gave it ago.
Sap moss shampoo is available in 250ml, 500ml and the litre bottle.
I admit after the first wash I was not impressed but after two weeks I noticed a real difference.
The shampoo does have its drawbacks it is on ... ...only half way through and that Is washing my shoulder length hair every second day.
There are benifits from using this shampoo. It leaves your hair very soft and very shiny. The hair does not tangle when it is brushed when wet. I also colour my hair and my colour lasts much longer when I use sap moss shampoo. The consistancy of the shampoo is very thick and creamy and you do only use a little.
the sapmoss shampoo has more conditioning properties ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: My hair resembled straw
Having watched this product being advertised on QVC, I couldn't resist trying. It promised shiny silky hair....hhhmmmm....OK, so I do have very dry curly frizzy hair and could probably not expect mine to be as soft and silky as all you people out there with lovely soft straight hair. I followed the instructions and used a small amount on hair, which did not lather, smelt pretty nasty and left my hair feeling like I had applied honey to it !! My hair ... ...it and had a terrible job trying to blow dry. I ended up looking like Worzel Gummidge, my hair did not feel soft and silky. I have used much less expensive products and had a much better result.
Believe it or not, I do have one good thing to say about this product, I have coloured hair and it did seem to bring out the colour. Maybe I too got a duff bottle !! not one for my future shopping list !! ...

...after that (I use another Aveda product - Shampure the rest of the time - and I have written a review on Shampure too). I have not considered changing from Aveda products since I first used them and would recommend them to anyone. I know everyone is different, but I have very fine, flyaway hair, and it has never been frizzy since. I also use the volumising finisher and styling tonic too - so you can see I am a total convert! ...
