    I am an Avon representative and before i go on, please note i'm not writing this to advertise or promote any of their products for fear of infringement of any kind! I am meerly writing this from a selling point of view to let you know of the 'pros and cons'. GETTING STARTED I first decided to start selling avon a few months before christmas for the chance to earn a bit of extra cash for partying. I started in october 2006.     Well it's been a few months now since I contacted Avon and became a Representative, so I thought it was about time I shared my experience with you. Firstly and very importantly much as Avon is a company that helps women to start up a small business of their own it is not exclusively for women and there are quite a few men out there who also sell the Avon products.     Advantages Advantages Getting to know your neighbours, Going to the presentations.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Time consuming, Not a very good earner

    I used to be an Avon Rep and gave it up after sticking at it for about 6 months just the right length of time to realise that it wasn't the right job for me. I got a knock on the door by a lady from the Avon looking to recruit one day, I'd got my little girl who was about 6 months old then and the way she explained the job to me sounded FAB! definately what i needed. * Work from home * In your own time * Be your own boss * Earn good commission * Meet new friends * Get discounts on Avon products for yourself.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Dishonesty of company, poor quality of products, and I believe theft

    I have been an Avon respresentative for 1.5 years and I have always conformed to thier rules and paid them their money on time. In the past 2 campaigns when I have sent back returns Avon claims that all items were not sent back after I have triple checked the return packages along with the shipping list. It seems funny to me that the most expensive items were claimed to be missing. Also I have had on several times received items that were leaking, broken and crushed but I am expected to sell these items. I could have sent them back but feared I would be told that I have never sent them. I did ... more

    Whilst saving up to move to Australia I decided doing Avon would be a good way to work on top of my full time job and it was to start off with but after a while that changed. Things started taking months to arrive and it was me who had to explain it to angry customers when I couldn't say why they were not arriving. I'm not going to go into lots of niff naff details bout the history of Avon etc but the point of m doing this review is to tell you my experience which was poor.     Advantages Advantages meet new people, gets you out of the house

    Disadvantages Disadvantages no sales no money

    Being an Avon Representive is a good way of earning that little extra or being able to treat yourself to pamper products. The problems is that you have your good months and your bad months but stick with and go with the flow. It helps if you have a small net to start you off with and then you can widen it. I always leave a book at my work place and always try to catch new mums in the playground or at nursery.     I have been working as a Sales Leader with Avon for around 12 months now and I absolutely love it. I earn a fantastic income and have a team of around 300 representatives. Sales Leadership has made a huge difference to my life. I would recommend it to anyone. Wendy Webb
