A Superb Game
Review of B-17 Flying Fortress - The Mighty 8th (PC) by so3003

Advantages: Excellent graphics & sound, Online Community, Overall an excellent slant on the air combat sim!
Disadvantages: No provision for multiplayer, Requires a fair deal of processing power

In my opinion, B17 Flying Fortress is one of the best computer games to have graced the PC in recent years. The graphics are superb (assuming you've got a powerful computer!), the sound blows you away (assuming you've got good speakers!), and while the gameplay isn't exceptional, even watching the "automatic" mode is enough to keep you entertained for hours and hours. The computer I run the game on is, admittedly, fairly high spec (P3 500) and ... Read review

Still not perfect
Review of B-17 Flying Fortress - The Mighty 8th (PC) by GodsTruth

Advantages: Superb Realism, Immersive Environment, Totally new idea
Disadvantages: Needs a monster computer, No multiplayer Support

...a crewmember of an infamous B-17 Flying Fortress, that alone will draw in all the flight sim fans, but, what is there to offer the regular gamer? You can participate in two game versions - Quick flight, where you are plunged into dog fights and bombing runs, and, Campaign, where you can either sit down and be part of a 10 man crew, or try out your leadership abilities and command an entire squadron. Yawn, still not convinced? B-17 also allows you ... Read review

REAL IMPRESSIVE if you have a good system
Review of B-17 Flying Fortress - The Mighty 8th (PC) by code_kev

Advantages: LOOKS REAL!
Disadvantages: system eater, bad menu

I'm not the biggest flight sim fan in the world, infact, I think they are utterly boring. B17 2 is different though, it has action in it, it has some substance. You can take control of any part of the plane at all, be it as a gunner, even as the piolt, or if your real sad, the navigator and more. So how does it play? Well much like any other flight sim, but it's alot more detailed. You can let the computer fly, and just do the shooting! Which is very ... Read review

The graphics are the first thing that hit you. the planes look glorious, Engines spit out smoke on start up, planes blow up and a malstrom of flames, you can recognise London and navigate using roads and rivers. The second thing that its you is the depth of game play. Want to fly the plane, no problem, drop the bombs, no problem, tail gunner, its yours. You ... Read review

B17
Review of B-17 Flying Fortress - The Mighty 8th (PC) by ber_ber

Advantages: Good Plot and playable
Disadvantages: Dated

The B17 Flying Fortress, alongside the legendary Avro Lancaster, was the ultimate bomber in WWII. While Lancasters terrorised German cities during night time, B17 fleets invaded the enemy airspace during day time. Legends were born during those nights and those days. Thanks to MicroProse UK, you can create some of your own with this superb flight simulation. Did I say 'flight simulation'? In the case of B17, that's a mild understatement. In fact ... Read review

Too difficult or not
Review of B-17 Flying Fortress - The Mighty 8th (PC) by JasperUK

Advantages: Best for the real B17 game player
Disadvantages: Too complicated for general play

I waited and waited for this title to be released and i must be totally honest with you all i was not as happy with the game as i thought i would be, maybe i just had waited too long and the final release just didn't live upto the amount of extra time taken by the developers. What ever the case is i really am dissapointed that the developers decided to take out the multiplayer part of the game, this would have make the game complete for me but it ... Read review
