Advantages Advantages Good deal for Fequest Fliers, unique discounts

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Average interest rate

The BAA Worldcard Visa is offered in conjunction with BAA, who run many of the UK's largest airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Southampton. Bank of Scotland is the issuer of the card. I initially applied for the BAA Worldcard Visa as an upgrade to my existing BAA WorldPoints card, BAA's loyalty card system which rewards purchases made at BAA outlets. The application was made on a form provided in the BAA WorldPoints mailout, and was processed quickly. (Applications can now be made on-line). The card subsequently arrived, with a realistic Credit ... more

    Advantages Advantages None in particular

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor customer services

I got a letter this morning telling me that my BAA Worldcard credit card account was being closed because I don't use it. Actually, I do use it, on a regular, but admittedly infrequent basis. In fact, I used it last week. I suspect that their decision to close my account was more to do with the fact that I pay the account as soon as I receive it, and therefore they don't make any money from me. The letter was extremely blunt in tone and in my opinion a very poor piece of corporate ... more

Advantages Advantages Free upgrades on Heathrow & Gatwick Express

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

This is a useful card as it gives free upgrades on the Heathrow Gatwick and Stanstead Express. You have to purchase your standard class tickets before boarding the train using the card but once on the train you can sit in first class simply by presenting the card to the guard. Other advantages are points earned when making purchases at Airport shops. These points can them be redeemed at a later date for discounted airport parking, fast track airport entry and other offers. Statements are sent monthly, and as with other credit cards it is possible to pay either a minimum payment or the balance ... more

Advantages Advantages Vouchers to spend at the airport

Disadvantages Disadvantages Possibly interest rate if payment is not made in full

I have now had this card for about 10 years, and have never had any problem with it, indeed, I get a lot of benefits. I pay off the card in full each month by direct debit, and this process works smoothly, so there are no costs, for me. I then get points for all the money I spend (double if at the airport), which I take in discount car parking (half price, and paid in vouchers), or in (cash) vouchers which I spend at the airport. I also distribute the vouchers to my children, which makes nice gift for them when they go away on holiday. This card may not suit the person who cannot pay his ... more
