Advantages: do not know hat to say honesty Disadvantages: always the same not enough variety, there are so many characters leaving and new one entering,
Eastender, one of the biggest if not the Uk biggest soap opera and it seems that the national cannot get enough of this show.
the thing that bothers we with this soap is that they alway seems to repeat their storyline (am sorry all the eastenders fan) or copy something from another soap.
ok, take this for e.g. in emerdale there was a storyline in which victoria sugden fell in a pond at home farm, eastenders then went and used the same storyline.
... ...is really up with that, quite a while back laura was running when she fell down the stairs and died, janine was then arrested for murder, then came max and tanya although tanya didn't die it's pretty much the same thing, even when all the slaters ladies was in the soap you saw all that too.
then again there's hardly any more orginality with these soap, as they are not coming up with anything new and exciting, more time it's soap predictable that ...

Advantages: great characters Disadvantages: too many good ones are leaving
I am a great fan of Eastenders. I watch it every time its on, know the story line and the characters inside out so I think I have enough to write a great (I hope) review.
Here I am going to give you a bit about each character and who plays them. There are so many I can see this taking forever Its not going to be completed in just one day so I’m giving you the time and date that I started. Here goes.!!
Wendy Richard AKA Pauline Fowler
***************************************
... ...Middlesborough, England as Wendy Emerton.
Wendy first joined the screens in the 1960's as Joyce Harker in the TV sitcom " The Newcomers". But it wasn't until she joined the sitcom "Are you being served?" in the 1970's playing a slow-witted sales representative Miss Shirley Brahms that she really found her fame. When the sitcom finished Wendy joined Eastenders playing her part as Pauline Fowler who she has played since 1985 when the very first show ...

Advantages: Good Characters. Some Good Storylines Disadvantages: Some Completely Crap storylines.
== My Opinion == This is a show that I love and hate all at the same time. I can find just as many bad things to say about it as I can good ones. I think that the bad points by far outweigh the good ones though. I avoid shows that are constantly negative because I believe what we see and do effects how we feel. This show is quite depressing at most parts and I think its the sort of thing that if you have had a brilliant day, you sit down and turn ... ...will more than likely soon fade. I also have been irritated by recent storyline's and how they have turned out. I especially disliked the story with Ronnie Mitchell and her daughter. I think that they dragged that storyline out way to much. They did it to a point were by the time it had got to the climax. I had thought it would at least eventually turn out good and become more interesting but it didn't. I don't know what they were thinking when they ...

Advantages: Fine Acting and Action Disadvantages: Can be depressing
Can it really be almost twenty years since Eastenders hit our screens? Twenty years of murders, affairs, fights and laughs. I for one remember the first scene as if it were yesterday; Den Watts, Arthur Fowler and Ali Osman kicking down the door of Reg Coxes bed-sit with Den uttering the first words in the BBC Soap, “Cor, stinks in ere”, as they discover Reg dead in his chair. Little could anyone know that this was the beginning of one of the best ... ...countless awards and made stars out of everyone who acted in it. We’ve laughed and cried along with the folk of Albert Square as they lurch from one disaster to the next, we’ve cringed as illicit affair after illicit affair is discovered, and we’ve cheered as the latest ner-do-well is run out of town. But who’s who in Albert Square and how is thingy related to whatsit? Without further ado lets discover the families that contribute to the show. ●The ...

Advantages: I'm an addict - too many advantages for me to list Disadvantages: It's on too often - 2 hours a week is a bit too much
"Ello Mum!" ah those welcome words to Peggy Mitchell's ears as she's about to get a thrashing by a thug hired to give her a real scare. For the uneducated in all things Eastenders, the Mitchells have been around for about 15 years. Here's a bit about the Mitchells, past and present and their loves and lives, intermingling some other key characters, also past and present:
~*MITCHELLS*~
Peggy (the matriarch of the Mitchell clan) is played by Barbara ... ...moved to the Square. Initially she was played by another actress (whose name escapes me). Peggy is a tough woman who believes the Mitchells are a force to be reckoned with. She's tongue-lashed many a girlfriend or wife or boyfriend or husband of her children and slapped more than her fair share of characters on the soap. She's a tiny woman but has an amazing presence about her and I'm sure she could shatter glass with her screeching! Many older readers ...

Advantages: Really Good Plots Disadvantages: A little bit miserable and a bit violent.
Storylines like Spaghetti Junction, Characters as deep and unknown as the deepest sea, Scenes as familiar as Monday morning. Yes, this is Eastenders. If you turn the television on at 7:30pm on a Tuesday, Thursday, 8:00pm on a Friday and Monday you will find yourself watching the delightful Eastenders. It opens with it's usual theme tune over an aerial view of the Thames and of the area of London ... ...white letters spelling 'Eastenders' slide down the screen. THE STORY
The story is ongoing and continues from the last episode. If you have not watched the show before or are unfamiliar with the characters you will most probably have no clue what is happening however, if you do keep watching it is not too bad and easy to follow as the characters are always changing and discovering new things. The stories very original and have plenty of twists. There ...

Advantages: Easy Watching Disadvantages: Its Not Real
Is There a Name Fowler Than Arthur……………………
Twas a lot of years ago that I first starting watching Eastenders and Arthur Fowler was just one character that I hated with a vengeance. Ok the poor guy had to put up with a wife like Pauline but it's no excuse for dire overacting. But let's just look at Walford and all the people that grace that place that is the eastend of London…..
First up the Mitchell's and what a family this lot are, god could you ... ...Mitchell, she who gave a really good Shaun of the Dead impersonation last week. So you have witnessed a murder and have said nothing for all that time, so let's go get totally blitzed and dig up the body, wise move Sam. And oh look a pickaxe just happens to be lying in a handy place, I will just throw it over my shoulder and walk over to the Queen Vic like one of the dwarfs from Snow White. I think it's the reality of this soap that gets to me….

EastEnders is on BBC1 four times a week. On Mondays and Fridays, it’s on at eight o’clock, and if you want to switch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you’ll find the screening takes place at half past seven. You get a little break on Wednesday and also Sunday.

Why It’s On…
Many of you will never have watched EastEnders, or at least in heavy quantities, and will have this stereotype in your mind that the whole programme is actually about East Endd yobbos beating each other up for half an hour a day. I admit, there is some truth there!
But EastEnders is a thought provoking, and also interesting to watch drama. It is meant to deal with important ...

Advantages: Great acting, interesting, tackles "issues", consistently high standards Disadvantages: None really
It seems an impossible task to write an opinion on something like EastEnders - a soap with a history of some fifteen years, a national treasure, a part of the country's culture which has inveigled its way into the British pysche. But I like a challenge, so here goes. I remember watching the very first episode. That was the one where Reg Cox's body was found in his house. Pete Beale and Arthur Fowler were in it then, and although they have since left ... ...now, as they did then. I grew up with the soap, first empathising with the teenagers, being sixteen or so myself in 1985. I was a fan of Susan Tully and Todd Carty from Grange Hill. I could well understand teenage angst, the dangerous thrill of unrequited or unobtainable love, and that unique relationship between teenager and parent. These days, I identify with the characters in their thirties who are mothers. I seem to have forgotten any teenage ...

21st February 1985. 7.30pm. A door is knocked down and two men break in to find the body of a dead man.
And so began Eastenders. A soap opera that was to become a national institution. Originally broadcast twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, a third episode was added on a Monday a few years ago, with a fourth episode added only a few weeks ago.
Much has happened over the past 16 years in Eastenders – births, marriages and deaths ... ...still surviving from that first episode. So what is it about the show that keeps people’s interest?
Eastenders is set in the fictional East End district of Walford. The local pub is the Queen Victoria; there is a launderette, a local shop which has taken on many different guises, a square where everyone sits if they have a problem (Albert Square), a bookies and a restaurant. The families make up the heart of Eastenders. It all revolves around ...

I've been a fan of EastEnders for, i'd say, about 6 years now.
Before then i'd been watching it a little bit (secretly in my bedroom) - why you may ask!? Well because i'd been thinking for a few months that it seemed quite good. Advantages: Escapist fun Disadvantages: Having to miss it sometimes
I have been watching this soap on and off since its beginning 15 years ago, although I missed it for long periods when I was backpacking. Then again when I was in Australia I had the pleasure of seeing my favourite old episodes, and telling my colleagues at work what was going to happen.
In the time it has been running, I think this soap must have featured every subject under the sun that is possible, murder… homosexuality… kidnapping… ... ...I can remember (I stand to be corrected on this) hinted at threesome/fetishes. (Episode broadcast 17/05/01) It is a shame that the scriptwriter could not have done more on this scene, but we know the constraints the BBC have at this hour of the evening. *grin* The sight of Kat’s face last week when she realised that the “small” party she had been invited to was for more than two, cracked me up.
There are many more mundane issues ...

Eastenders has always been a regular soap in my household, my mum and dad have always been avid fans and I have followed suit. When is it on?

Albert Square - the hub of the East End community. Well maybe not, but this is the impression that Eastenders gives you, and I love it! Set in the heart of the east end, the daily life of the characters revolves around Albert Square, a thriving market place that ... ...Vic pub, Launderette, local store, Night Club etc. It combines a wealth of stereotypical east-end accents and reflects the community that they live in. There are many complaints about how all the cast seem miserable all the time, but this is daily life in the East End of London - I'm sure that reflects reality, not everyone that lives there is going to be throwing a party every day. Anyway, all the best dramas are about misery - it is a sad reflection ...
