I have been driving for over 4 years now and I have been quite lucky when it came to having my first car. It wasn't all mine but I got to share my mums BMW for a while, which was great. It wasn't the newest but it was a BMW.After driving that I couldn't really got for anything else as the sheer...

Small rear spaces, Poor rear visibility

This review is meant to focus more on the car's performance on the road, and not so much on the financial aspects and inusrance details. The BMW 1 Series, is BMW's 2nd attempt to create a small, hatchback car, the previous one being the 3-Series Compact, which accroding to popular opinion was...

Good price

Heavy; Poor visibility; Pointless starter button

BMW first attempted to sell their souls to the Devil in the 1990s with the introduction of the 3-series Compact, a sort of half-arsed attempt at making a hatch-back version of their market-domineering executive saloon. The problem with the Compact was that it wasn't at all like the 3-series and...

My wife and I have had our fair share of cars over the past 5 years or so - about 12 in total - and each one was very different to its predecessor. For example, we went from a Ford Escort to a Peugeot 206; a BMW Z3 to a VW Golf; from a LandRover Discovery to Porsche 911; and from a BMW 330d Sport...

Indicators

I brought the 1 series after testing a huge range of other cars in the same group size such as the Golf and A3. I choose the 1 series as overall it had the best drive, it looked stylish and just appealed to me. When I first test drove the car I was amazed at the quality of the ride. I took it...

hard on road , and expensive tyres

Having owned a few vehicles in my life, I Purchased my firs Bmw. Yes a Pre-owned 2004 Bmw 318 M sport. The through search and rescue mission to find a relatively priced, Second hand vehicle , that still has the “one in a Million look” to it , came to be Very Successful. This is my First review...

I bought my 166 high executive edition just 1 week ago ,and my experience so far has compelled me to write this review . When i first enterd the car , i wasn't impressed by the space the power of the engine was not as good as i expected , so i felt a bit disappointed , but after an half hour of...

Had a thirty minutes or so with this model, it gets my green light despite its quirky looks & daylight robbery price tag. Good road handling, inspires bullish cofidence on the road, nice motorway cruiser, good braking system, practical, good lights, firm ride but not for the oldie goldies though, good m.p.g., feels bigger than it is, able to fill most roles from Tourer, day shopper to rep running. However the design fault with the indicators may drive you made, & the once middle class lable has now become, dare I say it "a little common." Expect to see Kev & Tracy stickers on the windshield in the future.

Brilliant drive

Lack of power at low speed

I LOVE MY 1 SERIES! The first time i saw them, i wasnt sure of the back bit, and thought it came down too quickly, but now i wouldnt swap it for any car in this price catagory. It is quick when you get up to motorway speeds, but at lower speeds, it is not very quick as it is a heavy car, but...

Excellent handling and very reliable

Heavy steering at low speeds

Ok, generally, there's nothing wrong with this car. Although the engine is slightly noisy (which is common for 1.6 litre engines), the handling is extremely superb!!! When tackling corners, the car is fast and make you feel very 'high' though. The ride very smooth, especially on open roads. Now...

Not for me

Body Styling and Pedigree

Overdeveloped, Underpowered and Unreliable

I had bought a BMW 116 ES in June of this year and this car regardless of it's good looks and pedigree has been nothing short of a dissapointing, frustrating and hugely inconvenient experience. The car has intermittent problems with starting and will cut out when idleing which has done since it...

After having previously had a Chrysler voyager, I had reservations about the space and power that would be present in the new 1 series. It turns out that these reservations were unfounded, and I have no regrets about making the switch. I found that the styling is the most aggressive of any of the...

This is a pretty nice car its great for family it has a lot of space if you want to go in vacantion with your friends or children. If you have the money this is a verry good car it can get to a pretty big speed but that's isn;t the only thing cars are made for.So overall on a scale of 1-10 i would give it a 8.5 because this isn't a car made for dinamic drivers its a more casual family car

BMW holds it's price, great sexy bodywork.

Fuel consumption, not enough power in the 116i

I currently have a 116i M Sport. It is a lovely car to look at and usually a lovely car to drive on the A roads or motor ways. I find it can be a bit sluggish to pull away but can more than hold it's own on the open roads. This model sits 1.5mm lower than the others due to the M Sport suspension...

If asked to choose which of all the cars we have owned I would recommend the most, I would say that depended to whom the recommendation was being made.
