Advantages: Quick, Great Handling, fun and fuel efficient. Disadvantages: Expensive, Run Flat Tyres, rear leg and boot space.
I now own a BMW 120D M-Sport and after driving alternatives such as the Audi A3, VW Golf TDI and the Focus TDCI, i came to the conclusions the BMW was perfect for my needs. Out of the three the BMW had the best handling aside from the AUDi's Quattro system which i feel lacked the poise and preciseness a rear wheel car gives you(RWD is also much more fun). The BMW had more grunt than the other cars and is nearly half a second quicker than it's nearest ... ...The BMW is expensive especially if you are adding options of which i feel Parking sensors, Bluetooth and MP3 player are a must. But, what you do get is a fun car which can handle, is quick enough for everyday use and is fuel effieicnt. Above all it's a BMW. ...

Advantages: Well built, rear wheel drive, excellent handling, fast, good fuel economy Disadvantages: expensive to buy and fix, run flat tyres as standard
...have come to expect from BMW over time, I can't help but feel that the price difference in models presents you with a bargain when looking to the 120d. The 118d is a good car in itself, but the difference in grunt received from the extra £800 of going a model up is well worth it. Granted, the majority of what follows is not 'standard' equipment on the car, but when is it ever with BMW??
The m-tech extras are again worth the extra money, as the handling, ... ...seats, although widely criticised, actually didn't seem as bad as I had expected, unless you have giants in the front seats.
All in all, from the pick of the 'hot hatches' available today, I would go for the BMW every time, and would especially have my eye on the 120d. ...

Advantages: Superb to drive, BMW residual values, quality, engine, economy, performence Disadvantages: price, practicality
The BMW one series 2 litre diesel
The good
-------------
The bmw is a great and entertaining car to drive, as it should be bieng a bmw. Although the ride is a bit firm due to the one series having run flat tyres as standard, its nothing that u cant get used to, The engine is brilliant, it revs freeley and has very minimal turbo lag. The engine is also powerful and very tourqey with 163 bhp and 251p ft of tourqe. Economy is also very good for such ... ...golf or focus, then the bmw is a lot more, but similar to an Audi or Volvo S40. Also, due to the car being rear wheel drive and having a transmission tunnel to power the rear wheels, the cars limited practicality may be an issue to some people, although 4 can still sit in cofort, other cars in the sector do offer more room.
Overall
---------
I would recommend this car as it is great to drive, the diesel engine is superb, fuel economy is good and ...

Advantages: Economical, handles well, compact Disadvantages: Small in the back and small rear window
I was very wary of going from the 5 series to the 1 series not only in terms of size but also "driveability" however, I have not been disappointed. This car is extremely economical averaging approximately 45 mpg. It is exactly what you expect from BMW, well designed, well manufatured and a pleasure to drive. The rear is quite small but then it is a small hatchback and the boot is on the small side but again, this is classed as a small car. The handling ... ...We have the M sports version with seats that you "blow up" to fit around you which are great, a slightly different stearing wheel and different alloys (a man's thing!!!). I have to say I was very reluctant when purchasing this car but I have been very pleasantly surprised and would not hesitate in getting another. ...

Advantages: Looks great, lovely to drive, excellent build quality Disadvantages: Small rear windscreen, limited rear legroom, don't like the rear view mirror at night.
...with the stop-start technology that bmw are now introducing- if you put the gearbox in neutral at a junction etc the car engine will switch off, and then on again as soon you put your foot down on the clutch. this not only lowers carbon emissions but also the amount of fuel you use. It is actually amazingly instinctive to use. There's no denying that bmws are expensive but the build quality is excellent and performance is great, it accelerates strongly ... ...Having now had the BMW for nearly 2 years I thought it would be worth updating how happy I am with it, and whether any issues have arisen not covered in the review. In short I am extremely happy with my BMW 120D M Sport - it remains fantastic to drive, extremely comfortable and a pleasure to live with on a daily basis. I average around 45mpg and can consistently drive over 500 miles on a single tank. I remain happy with the boot space, which can ...

...is my third car from BMW and it has to be the best one!
The body work and the look of this car is amazing, one thing has to be said it's built to last.
The seat's them selfs are great because they fit around you and with a switch make them increase pressure around your sides or release pressure.
What i love about this car also is the radio with BMW's you do not get the cheap stuff the radio has everything you need including the handsfree button.

Advantages: Good looks, great engine and handling Disadvantages: Smallish in back, price
Fantastic car, really good handling and a powerfull engine once past 1000 miles. Quality and layout of the interior is top notch with all of the toys and gadgets that anyone would need.
Leather interior really looks the part but make sure you tick the box for heated seats in the winter.
MSport option gives a more purposefull body kit and bigger wheels (17") The interior is also upgraded with a fantastically tactile thick rimmed leather steering ... ...of the package.
The diesel engine gives average fuel economy of 49MPG and there is a real thump in the back as the turbo kicks in. Company car tax is not too bad if its the firms money that you are using to purchase the car.
Back seat space is commented on all over the internet and in car magazines, I find it fine, the doors aren'e the easiest to get through but once in the back there is plenty of room for two adults. The boot size and access are ...
