...is it's reliability. Although BMW maintenance is extremely expensive ( we're talking $50 oil changes and $500 for major services (brakes, filters, valves, checkover and moditech) but it never breaks down or has problems. However, the steering head bearings do wear out after fifteen thousand miles and they cheerfully put it on your excellent BMW warranty at no cost! Advantages: Comfort, smoothness Disadvantages: Gears, indicator position, lack of power
OK, a review based on 40 minutes rideout at the BMF bash doesn't count for much, but it left some strong impressions in my mind.
1. The indicator is NOT a thumb stretch from the clutch - very awkward and potentially hazardous
2. Smooth delivery but underpowered - I learnt n a CB500 and that would eat the beemer for breakfast
