Disadvantages Disadvantages very expensive to run jarring ride

Introduction~ Hi. It's must be obvious now I am an motoring fan so another motor review now! Motoring can be boring with the speed limits congestion charges parking restriction!? Living in England means there are plenty reason to go mad and to get even you need to get around much faster and easier and also comfortably than any other form of transport even public. It is even better if it free as well. A better way to travel around is not possible than the BMW M3. I have a brother who has the use for the past few months of such a car. I know you must be wondering why that and not another well ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good motorsport feel

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey, can get stiff neck, driving at speed

At first glance there doesn't seem anything special about it, but I have to admit it does look better than the average BMW. That's when I noticed the lower front spoiler, the wider wheel arches that hide the wider axle. Believe, I couldn't go wrong with 20 18 inch rims,...can I ? Then there's that little hump on the bonnet to make sure there's enough room for the bigger engine. At closer inspection I noticed the M3 nostrils on the front fenders...and the emblem on the back on the car that says EMMMM 3 !...but the most distinct characteristic I like lies below the emblem...it's the beautiful 4 ... more

Advantages Advantages Speed, Decisive Handling and that M3 badge.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Possibly a tad expensive, some rattle.

I slot the key into the whole and it doesn't just start it purrrrrs. The BMW M3, 2003 edition is, in my view, one of the best cars on the planet. Thse styling of the 333hp beast is, in case you havent seen it, brute like. It looks tough in its purpose of getting from A to B, with the possible max of speed, of course. Because 0-60 in 4.8 seconds is very very fast. If it's a question of speed the M3 would be the answer, and at a max of 140mph its a damm good anwser at that. Although don't take the M3's 140mph as a max, because the good boys at BMW had to put a limiter on the car (because of ... more

Advantages Advantages the paddles are perfect size, perfectly positioned. Other manufacturers take note

Disadvantages Disadvantages Better style suede seats or suede ricarros would be tremendous

The car being reviewed here is the 2011 BMW M3. This is the one...the don...this is the vehicle that helped build a segment. Can you believe this car has been around for 25 years. Back in 1986 codenamed the E30...the first M3 came out with a 2.3L inline 4 producing 195hp...but for 2011 this car now has a whopping V8 that produces 440hp. You will probably read alot of reviews about what his car can do....I sure can atest to it. You know what I love this car as a daily drive too. This car is the epitome of what this segment is all about. What type of segment is it ?....we're talking Mercedes C63 ... more

Advantages Advantages Car is built for performance !

Disadvantages Disadvantages looks are not that good.

I have had my E46 M3 for about a year now. My car is equipped with the Sequential Manual Gearbox. Coming from a Subaru WRX this car is a completely different experience. Before driving the M, I had always thought that most luxury sports cars are gimmicks. While I can't speak for AMGs or Audi's S line, the M is a gives the driver a very unique driving experience. The M3 can be two very different beasts. With a redline of ~8k, being below 4k RPMs can fool one into thinking the car is soft. But once you punch the acellerater and the revs start screaming to 8k you truely feel the genius of this ... more

Advantages Advantages So easy to drive well

Disadvantages Disadvantages So easy to drive badly

Warning -this is a bit of a racers review. But it makes sense on this car.............................. E36 M3. So, why would anyone choose one of these cars? Answer:- a/ You're a bit of a chav-type poser b/ You're a serious trackday-type driver. You decide????????? It's cheap to buy, reasonable to run (Specialists abound) expensive to insure and a serious risk to the owner's NCB! When I first enquired about insuring an M3 to teach on-road advanced driving techniques you could hear the laughter even holding the telephone at arm's length! They are one of the highest "no other vehicle involved" ... more

Bmw E36 M3 evo saloon I love my M3 evo, 90k on the clock so far FSH and still on the same healthy sounding vanos unit. Ive always had quick cars but this thing is awesome. There are a few updated items on the 3.2 E36 M3 including bigger brakes from the M5 6, speed box and bigger 3.2 twin vanos engine giving a massive 321bhp. Beware though this car cant be run on a shoe string budget. my spends so far 1) new suspension and bushes standard boge set up £1000 2)gear box selector seal £150 3) inspection 2 service £850 which has highlighted that the vavles will need re-set in about 20-30k at a cost ... more

Unparalleled passing power. Not enough O's in smoooooth to describe this engine. Handling is simply out of this world. FUN FUN FUN. STYLING: M3 touches are beautiful. Ground effects look great! INTERIOR: Super-comfortable seats that offer incredible lateral support (especially the M-sport seats). You know that face that you would pull if Catherine Zeta Jones came up to you in the street (or maybe Brad Pitt in a womans point of view),yes that PHWOOOOR FACE,thats the face that I pulled when I first set eyes on the BMW E46 M3. As I looked more and more, the german curves just so perfect I realised, this wasnt actually that flashy and it wasnt a posers car, just pure class. You start to know that it is something special when you see the M3 vents on the wing, the M3 badge on the boot, the standard 18 inch wheels, the power bulge in the bonnet, the extended arches and thoose quad exhausts dont just ... more

Advantages Advantages Ride, Stonking performance, fab engine, wonderfully luxurios.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's not a Rover

Want the best BMW ever? Then look no further than the new E46 BMW M3. It's got 343 bhp at 8000rpm! A 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds, and is faster than every current Porsche but the 911 Turbo. It gets an imposing new m5-ish understated body kit and alloys that don't even so much as hint at it's performance potential, and at the same time steer it away from boy racer image of it's predecessor. The interior is as you can expect from BMW, with absolute top quality materials used, mixed with some incredible details as well. Like the new M seats that adjust in just about every way possible including a ... more
