Advantages Advantages Cheap to run, Looks great, Comfortable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Small boot, No leg room in back

It was time to replace my girlfriends car, and she had her heart set on a Mini Cooper S. Luckily, I kept my sensible head on and suggested that we go for a diesel model, better mpg, plus the added bonus of being able to fill it up using works fuel card! After lots of shopping around we found a one owner private sale of a 2009 Mini Cooper Diesel, slightly high mileage for the age, but it was fully loaded. As it's a diesel model, I will start by reviewing the engine. It's a 1.6 Litre turbo diesel engine, producing 110bhp. It's suprisingly quiet for a diesel engine and does run very well, the six ... more

I will be honest, I have never really been a big fan of Mini's. At school my best friend was crazy about them and she was certain that was what she wanted to drive when she was older, however personally I was not too fussed by them. Yes, they were a nice car but not top on my list! Then when my old car needed to go my Dad asked me if I would like a Mini. I thought long and hard about it and initially my answer was no but then I began to come around to the idea. I never actually picked my Mini. One evening, I mentioned someone was interested in my current car to my Dad but that they couldn't ... more

I bought a 2003 Cooper S in gunmetal (grey) a couple of months ago and have so far been more than happy with my choice with no regrets. As a new buy you need to be prepared to spend a lot to get the extras you want and I should think the first owner of my car spent well over 18k for the car, so that's around 4-5k in extras. Mine has the panoramic sunroof, cruise control, digital climate, full leather, steering wheel controls, chili pack including xenon headlights - these are the sorts of things you would expect a fairly expensive small hot hatch to have so with this in mind, buying used is ... more

I bought my MINI just over a year ago, and at that time, the car had only been unleashed on the unsuspecting British public for a couple of months. All the automotive magazines (CAR, Auto Express to name two) raved about the car; I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. That's where my 'MINI Adventure' began..... There is one particular, four-letter word that leaps into my mind when I look at the MINI. Cool. From the curves around the rear of the car to the styling of the front grille, you can tell that Rover's old Mini has been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. The ... more

My mini cooper – do I love it or hate it? I have had the little beauty now since the second week in January (so around 2 months as it is now mid March when I am writing this). Mostly I love it, what I hate about it at the moment is the cracked mirror, scuffed wheel arches and scraped door handle that I now have on the drivers side thanks to meeting a white van on a narrow bridge… (although estimates are around £180 all up to fix it) She is gorgeous – chilli red with a white roof and large, deep eyes… a drivers seat that you can position how you want to – hunched forwards or way back, up to the ... more

With my Beemer in at the menders, it is time for the courtesy car on offer at my dealership to get a spin. Im talking here about the Mini cooper I had last week while the car was having its main service. It went in on Friday and the mechanics at my BMW dealer dont work Saturdays so I had the joy of a Mini Cooper for the entire weekend. It was with mixed feelings that I took it back on Monday morning. Styling/looks. Well, I liken the Mini to the concept VolksWagen took to the Beetle. People like it so keep it the same but change it slightly to be fashionable. That is exactly what BMW have done ... more

Introduction ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Through my contacts in the motor trade here in Dublin I got a sneak preview of the all-new Mini from BMW that is due to hit the car showrooms both here in Ireland and in the UK most likely some time next month. (July, 2001) The car I got a peep at is the Mini Cooper version, and is tagged to enter the Irish market at around the £15,500 (Irish Punts) mark. What it will retail at in the UK is anyone’s guess, but it will unquestionably be less expensive than here in Ireland. There is even talk of the entry level version being priced at less than the £10,000 ... more

Ever wanted to know how famous people feel? Buy the new BMW Mini Cooper. Its drop dead gorgeous looks turn heads wherever you go. I picked mine up last week and nothing prepared me for the attention I would receive. Its a Chilli Red Cooper with white roof (a tradional Cooper colour). Wherever I drive people stop and stare. Wherever I park, I return to an audience, my girlfriend is gettin jealous. So what about the car. Well for a start its not mini in dimensions. Park it next to a classic Mini and you will be shocked at how big it is. Its in a similar class to a Fiesta. As I mentioned its ... more

Summary Its already a motring icon. Everywhere you drive it people stare, point, smile. 1 month after buying it is worth £1500 more than we paid for it - not bad depreciation. Compared to other cars on the market in the same price bracket there is no comparrison - Buy one now ! Looks The design detailing is superb. Every detail from the outside, to the engine compartment, to the interior has been thoughtfully designed. Build Quality Good build quality (as you would expect from BMW), no rattles, everything feels good quality to handle. All the controlls are wonderfully precise and light to ... more

Mini Cooper Background of the Mini. The original Mini was designed by one man, his name was Sir Alec Issigonis, as was primarily released in the United Kingdom on 27th of August 1959. In its first 40 years of production, there was almost 5,300,000 Mini’s made, many cars have tried to replace the Mini, such as the ‘9X’, however none have succeeded. After the Queen was sighted in a Mini in the early 1960s the cars popularity rocketed, with other famous stars such as The Beatles, Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood all owning the British icon. The original Mini’s made by were just over 10 feet long ... more
