We acquired seven Mini Ones for staff of our development company to use as company vehicles and for advertising - they are covered in stickers! I run one of the seven as my own company car having covered 36,000 miles in thirteen months. When we went in search of staff cars, we were originally looking for a cheap option. We considered Nissan Almera, VW polo, and Vauxhall Corsa. We went for the minis because of the eye catching styling. For this reason ... ...mile daily commute which the Mini is not designed for. Aspects like the washer bottle isnt big enough for some winter trips can be a problem although 400 miles on 1 tank of gas is good - but not for a small car like this with a big 50 litre tank. I tend to get 37mpg from it although others tend to get less, closer to 30mpg which is poor. The reserve will do about 70 miles, which is excellent.

...This is an 05 plate Mini One, in Chili Red. We added a few options to the basic spec: manual air-conditioning; chrome lining on the exterior and interior; the 'storage' pack (whoever heard of a glovebox being an optional extra?); and, in a capricious moment of vanity, removal of the 'One' badge. All in it came to £11,300.
We had gone for this car for the simple reason that we wanted something 'fun'. Both of us being 'professionals' we found ourselves ... ...of car. The Mini and the Mazda MX5 were the only cars we really considered, and one test drive of the Mini was all it took to make up our mind.
The performance isn't really all that far down on the Cooper, so we decided the money saving was worth it, and at the time we wanted to see how the car went before deciding on a Cooper S.

We bought a Mini One in 2005 for my wife as a second car. We bought it on the lease purchase scheme that they ran at the time. It works by paying a deposit, we paid £2500 then for 3 years it was £199 a month with a final payment of about £5000 after the 3 years or you can trade it in for a new one and continue the monthly payments. We paid the final installement.
Anyway enough about the boring finance, whats the car actually like? Its great it feels ... ...keep everyone happy. Mini customer service is second to none and they are very helpfull. Its also worth buying the TLC plan, this is an upfront service plan and i think it only cost around £250, the service indicator in the car lets you know when the next service is due. We have had the car nearly 4 years and we have only had one service done due to the low mileage of the car. Money well spent.
Downsides: There isn't many, it's very hungry on fuel ...

...to preview the new BMW Mini which has the tall order to live up to and build on the reputation of the old Rover Mini.
One big difference is the new owner of the brand is German, though they keep it very low key, and there is infact no official BMW badge on the car. I did spot the words BMW moulded onto the petrol cap but that's hidden from view anyway behind a flap.
The intention is to sell these cars as Mini very distinctly from the rest of the ... ...the centre like the old mini and the Toyota Yaris and the rev counter is above the steering column. The dials are silver rimmed and the switch gear chromed. The chrome extends itself to the exterior grill, around the lights and door handles. The handles are the fridge door squeeze type. To do this they had a job. They had to keep the foibles and quirks that made the old mini so lovable. They had to inject modern styling and performance with the handling to match. They had to make it safe on today’s roads and frugal enough to pass tomorrow’s emission tests. They had to do all this at an affordable ... ...its ancestor that is what mini driving is all about. Handling too is crisp. A little choppy at times on uneven county lanes but that is to be expected as a result of its short wheelbase. On longer runs it is smooth and quiet. A vast improvement on the old mini.

When we purchased it we liked the look of the mini cooper S convertible but couldn't quite come to terms with parting with all that cash so we opted for the cheapest option. We ordered a red mini one convertible with 17" S alloys, pepper pack, cd player and sports seats with black fabric. Oh, we also asked that the one badge be removed from the boot of the car. When it arrived we were so pleased ... ...he had not seen a mini one with that spec (or so he said). Anyway since we have had our mini for 3 months there have been many fights over who was going to take it to work. The sales person could not have been any nicer. It was her first day and tried to answer all our questions as well as she could until the gentleman was available. Eventually we go to take it for a test drive with the fascination of mini's I thought that he would let me test drive it but no he had to have a go and well needless to say we are ... ...The mini one has an engine capacity (cc) of 1598 with the option of 5 gear manual or automatic the mini has a pwer output of 90/66 (bhp/kw). The car can go from 0-62 in 10.9 seconds and has a top speed of 112mph.
The mini one is 3626mm in lenght, including wing mirrors is 1925mm wide and has a height of 1416mm. The feul tank capacity is 50 litres and the boot volume is 150 litres. The car has an insurance group of 5 compared to 8 for the mini cooper ...

...me (having finally read the MINI owner’s manual) that I was now part of the MINI owners club, not being somebody who is used to waving at complete strangers I picked it up surprisingly quickly.
I absolutely love my new MINI!!! My last car was a new Ford KA Luxury with leather seats, air conditioning, alloys, etc and at £8,500 was brilliant value for money and I thought it was fantastic – that is until I had my first taste of the new MINI at the ... ...a personality. The old mini was a part of so many people’s lives; most people over 45 have driven the old mini, so BMW had a big job when they took on the MINI project. BMW were always going to have to deal with the extreme old mini enthusiasts that believe they have ruined an institution all I can say to them is that they’ve either never driven the new car or are too antiquated and stubborn to recognise progress.

Our Mini One has been in the family now for 3 plus years so we do know about this car. I admit that I fell in love with the car and although I would really have loved a Cooper, practical considerations (learner driver) dictated the One.
It is a fun little car to drive that exudes quality of build and really makes your 'feel good'. I always like hoping in the Mini to nip to the shops or for the long commute - I regularly did the Lake District to ... ...of this nature.
The Mini is not perfect - what is. The internal size is really pretty small - not much more than the original yet the car is big on the outside. The Mini was the same size as our LWB Mercedes-Benz A Class!
Overall though I have to say if space is not your prime concern then put this car in your consider list. It offers a lot of driver reward and that, in my book, counts for a lot.

We have had a MINI in the family since early 2004 and when it came to buying my first car I knew what my choice would be! So late 2005 my MINI arrived.
Since then car has been fine apart from a few rattles and issues with clutch which BMW eventually replaced under warranty. BMW service sometimes leaves a lot to be desired, but if you find a good dealership stick with them! Also being my first car the price of insurance played a part in what I purchased. ... ...at a stretch, our other mini which is driven nicely and does 10-20min journeys on average has a consumption of 32MPG! So as a standard it doesn't matter how you drive it you'll get 32MPG!!! Looks wise there is nothing else on the market like it! All the other small cars Corsas/Clios/Fiestas are usually the same specification, colours, etc. Whereas a MINI you can be completely unique! You can have a wide range of colours, wheels, mirror caps, roof ...

I finally got my wee mini convertible 18 months ago, then promptly left the country fot 8 months and had to leave it with a friend. Getting it back was not easy!! My friend did not want to part with it, understandably.
What can I say about this car?
- Its great to drive, a tyre at each corner means that it handles like a go cart - hugging all the corners. Its size means that it is easy to park in the town, very few spaces are too small. - It is ... ...car. If you buy a mini convertible be prepared for all your mates kids to want a spin. One extra bonus with the convertible is that when it gets dusty and dirty inside, take the roof down go for a spin and its (nearly) clean inside!
- The selection of finishes you get allows you to customize your mini as much as you want. Mine is HOT ORANGE inside and out. This is great when you want to be noticed, but if you are trying to hide somewhere you shouldn't ...

bmw mini one was the first car i ever brought and to be honest i wish i started with something a little cheaper then maybe changed car a few time to experience how other cars drive and then gone to a mini. only because i now know my next car WILL be another mini.
One of the best features is the run on flats. when your tyre pressure goes below what it should be, the car shows you a flat tyre sign and a beebing sound, so you know that there is something ... ...is the steering i find it a bit heavy compared to other cars but would not hold that against the car. The Mini is a simply stunning car, with great personality (if such a thing is imaginable in a car). It accelerates well and nips round corners with ease due to its Go-Kart-esque handling. The quirky design features cannot hide the sheer class brought to the car from the wonderful people at BMW. The interior feels solid and well built as we would expect but also is deisgned with style in mind. The speedometer is situated in the ... ...taking a look at the Mini Cooper S. This, as I'm sure Thierry Henry would agree, has more va-va-voom but this extra horse power will drive the price up further.
This is only my second review and as you may have noticed, the first one came in for a bit of criticism! Hope I've taken the points on board, let me know! ...

Great car! I have had one for four years now and it has never let me down to this day! Looks small from te outside but is actually not inside with lot of head room!
They hardy use any fuel i have to fill up onc every two weeks and i use my car at least once a day.
The new version has adevice fitted which means road tax is decresed dramatically, therefore total running costs will be lowe than average.
The only prolem which i have found is that the boot is extremly small. This can be overcome though if not traevelling with a full car as the back seats fold down.
The best car i have ever had an i would suggest this car to anyone living in the town! ...

...earned cash and bought a Mini Cherished 52 plate Mini One in Chili red from Halliwell Jones BMW in Warrington. The car drives like a dream and to coin a phrase "corners like its on rails" lol. Its nippy and reasonably economical fuel wise for its engine size. Its a small car on the outside and deceivingly spacious on the inside. The aftersales service from Halliwell Jones has also been A*, with it being a Cherished Mini I received a further 12 months ...
