Advantages: Many functions, clear sound, no interference, talk back Disadvantages: Temp sensor maybe a bit sensitive
We recently borrowed this monitor from a friend - it's on our wish list but we can't really afford to buy one, so we are trialling this one at the moment.
Due to us borrowing it, we were never given an instruction manual, but have still managed to figure out most of the functions with success! And compared to our Tomy Walkabout, this is a fantastic monitor, even if it is a little pricey (£69.99 I think)
The Baby Unit:
This unit has 9 buttons across ... ...is to record your voice but we haven't used this function)
-Page (to page the parent unit I presume if you've lost it somewhere)
-A button with three circles on - I think this is to increase or decrease the brightness of the nightlight
-Nightlight
-Volume up
-Volume down
-Play/Stop (the lullabies)
-Music (to select the lullaby)
There is a temperature sensor on this unit and the temp is displayed in the centre of the unit, and also it displays ...

Advantages: Works well, can be personalised a bit. Intuitive interface. Disadvantages: Poor battery life after a few months, combined with annoying low battery alarm!
...because: - We trusted the BT brand name - The digital (DECT) sound quality was supposed to be good - It had a couple of extra features we liked - It was quite compact - It wasn't too hideously expensive - The mains chargers work for both the parent and baby units (so less faffing around with plugs) - You can link an MP3 player to the baby unit and play music to them (ps we have NEVER used this function though we did think it was cool!) This is a ... ...for 18 months now! Hopefully that'll make the review useful! **Set up** This is very easy - just plug in the baby and the parent units, turn on both and the parent unit will find the baby one, with the light changing from a flashing one to a steady green light that shows it's linked. You do have to make sure that the batteries in the parent unit are fully charged before you start using it. And don't put the two right beside each other, or the feedback ...

===Why would you buy a Baby Monitor? === Well you need one if you have a baby on the way or you already have a baby. The reason being is that when your child starts sleeping upstairs in day or in they're own room at night, you need to hear if they are in distress or have just woken up from a nap. If you can hear these things quickly, rather than running at the bottom of the stairs every 2 minutes to check if you've heard something, then your child ... ...you will go to them if they need you. ===My thoughts behind buying this one=== I bought this one because it was rated very highly in all the Parent & Baby magazines when I was pregnant and looked to have allot of features.
