Disadvantages Disadvantages None, these are the best phones I've owned

Telephones never seem to last long in this house, must be something to do with how much we use them. Anyhow, shortly after singing the praises of my previous cordless phones (made by Binatone) the batteries wore out and I'd generally got fed up of them and wanted something a little better. So I set myself some criteria while my husband searched the High Street, I hunted online, for something that would replace the old phones and hopefully survive a little longer. Just in case you're interested, my criteria were : * Had to use DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) technology * A ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice styling, well designed simple interface

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery life not the best

It seems almost everyone owns a cordless home phone these days. But if yours is old and tired, or you want to put phones in more places, this triple pack from BT is good value. What you get when you open the pack is: One master base station - this is the one that must be plugged into a phone socket. Two remote bases - you can put these anywhere you like. Three identical phones - curvy styling, choose from a silver finish or an elegant white. Two NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries for each phone. In terms of overall functions, the Studio 1100 is fairly basic, but does include caller display ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use - Looks stylish

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't have the latest BT features

Some people choose electricals and appliances to match the style of their house and the decoration, others look for the latest technology available without even considering the price. When my wife and I looked for a phone to put on our wedding list, all we looked for was for a phone we could use easily, wihout hassle and that did all we asked for: make phone calls and receive them. There are many brands and models but we decided for the BT STUDIO 1100 Twin. The phones are silver and very slim. They both come with their respective lithium rechargable batteries and instructions to set them up ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages only 3 melodies! no txt messaging/answerphone

Purchased from Argos recently to replace my existing BT Synergy 600 (4 handsets that have all now failed (died)) Bt, british telecom are well known for their high standards in the telephone and broadband industry. I was very happy with my old bt phone, it had all the features one could ask for CALLER DISPLAY, cordless, extensive phone book, secrecy, last call and redial buttons along with 'int' - intercom to communicate from one handset to the other - used to transfer calls as well. - the twin set cost me £35 and the single would've cost £19 from Argos. I did some hunting around and found the ... more

Advantages Advantages Simple to use, pleasant looks

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of synchronisation

I purchased my twin pack of BT Studio 1100 about 3 months ago. The cordless phone we had required a battery and we were in need of a cordless phone downstairs. The BT studio 1100 twin was good looking and reasonably priced at between £45 - £50. The phones are DECT phones meaning that although there are two handsets (and chargers / bases) on the primary unit requires a connection to a telephone socket although both need to be plugged into a power point. The units are easy to set up, just pop the battery into each handset, plug in the relevant leads and they can be used. The phone has a quite a ... more

Advantages Advantages Ringer can be turned off

Disadvantages Disadvantages if main base unit is connected to the same box as the fax machine then caller ID won't work

With a little one on the hip and lots to do this phone is great value for money and handy. I take it everywhere so that I needn't leave baby unattended. I even take it outside at the reception is still great. The battery life is good as well as I have left it off the chrage for up to 3 days and even though battery was low it was still useable. This phone is value for money, reliable and offers security. It is good if you have to be after the little nippers or for a person who lives on their own and want to be able to quickly call for assistance. Really handy to have in your pocket if you can't ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice shape and style. Easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I first started looking for a cordless phone as an upgrade. After completing a fair amount of research i stumbled across BTs Studio 1100. Its shape and stlye caught my eye. Its sleek and stylish, standing out from the other cordless phones in the shops. The shape also appealled to me, fitting comfortably into the contours of my hand. For such a phone i felt the price was very reasonable and could easily have been a great deal more expensive Once i got the phone home, and started playing around with the features, i found the phonebook extremely easy to use. Its set up being very logical, with ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not many functions

I bought this phone about a year ago now for around £20. At the time we just wanted the cheapest phone possible that was cordless and found this one. It's very easy to use and we haven't had any problems at all with it. We didn't bother with an answering machine because we use 1571 answering service. We could pay for caller identity but we haven't and you don't even see the number of the person calling when the phone rings which is a bit annoying. The menu is easy to use as there aren't many functions but you can change the ring tone and give your phone a name and I understand that you can add ... more

great if you do not want all the whistles and bells of the other more confusing phones, this has all the basics you will ever need and more. It has caller display, now free from bt, 3 different tones for different callers, a name and number phonebook. If you do not want to be confused by a real techie phone then this is brilliant. The sound is really good and it is a good sized handset with volume controls so you can raise the level of the ring and the volume of the person on the other end of the phone. No good for using in a power cut but that is the same with all cordless phones. A good ... more
