Advantages: Cordless with wide indoor and outdoor range Disadvantages: Need to shop around for a good price
The synergy 4500 twin from BT is one of the most innovative home phones around, combining up-to-date functions with a sleek and fashionable outer design. This slim black handset houses some pretty useful features including a sim card reader, 255 name phone book and dialled calls memory as well as other features you may expect such as an answering machine and caller display. The fact that this phone is cordless is also a big advantage, especially ... ...got this information from the BT web site so I'm not sure what went on there. Anyway, here's a correct list of the features:
- Sim card reader - I have found this to be the most useful feature of this phone as not only is it convenient to have all you favourite numbers on hand rather then re-key them in every time, but it also makes a safe copy of all your numbers in case you loose your mobile phone.
- Range up to 300m outdoors and 50m indoors ...

Advantages: Lots of features, good range, battery life, text capacity Disadvantages: not keen on tones
The BT Synergy 4500 is just one more in a long line of BT produced phones, coming in a single, duo, trio and quad packages it is designed for homes and businesses alike. The phone is cordless with a separate docking unit for each handset, each handset is a good size fitting comfortably in the hand but not so small, like mobiles etc, that it is difficult to use properly. The sleek and stylish black handset features large easy to press buttons, they ... ...to sign up for the BT caller display service to be able to receive your texts, this is at no extra charge and of course also gives you the caller display feature that shows you the number dialling in to you on the LCD screen.
The answer machine has up to 11.5 minutes recording time which should be more than enough for the average family who've left the house for the day, even on a weeks holiday you're unlikely to rack up enough messages to fill ...

Advantages: SUFFICIENT FEATURES, LARGE MEMORIES AND LONG TALK TIME. Disadvantages: DOES NOT CHARGE LIKE THE ORDINARY MOBILE PHONES AND DOES NOT HAVE ALL THE FEATURES LIKE THE MOBILE PHONES.
BT synergy 4500 is a nice cordless phone with a lot of features. Actually I think that the laws of diminishing returns has caught up with me with the ordinary mobile phones so I have to this time give another phone brand a try so on doing so I bought this. it also has a great feature that is an answering machine without display of calling numbers and also the presence of loud speakers.
The cordless phone has served quite long for about a month although ... ...phones that seem lighter the BT synergy has a more heavy weight and I think that the battery contributed to the weight of the phone. The charger is a large plastic that has a big hole where the phone is being fixed for the battery charge.
It also has a black shiny colour with 12 buttons at the central the power and pick up call buttons has a silver colour.
Does not have any camera features but I don't even mind all I want from the phone is the ...

Advantages: Large phonebook memory Disadvantages: Ringtones
Bought a triple handset version from Tesco for £64.
When installing I simply plugged the lead out of my old phone and into the Synergy Base. It didn't work! Found on reading the online user guide that you MUST use the cable supplied with Synergy to connect to the wall socket. Doh! Then it worked.
Also the plastic lip under the base (which holds the power cable in place) snapped off immediately.
Other than these niggles, a good buy. Some useful ...

Advantages: Upto date technology Disadvantages: Having to charge the batteries before use
...years and so when our BT Response 123 plus stopped deleting messages I thought it was time to replace it. Off I went to Tesco where I found amongst the array of phones on offer a BT Synergy 4500 and at £59.99 it looked to be a decent deal. Most of the other phones appeared to come in 2's or 3's and I immediately thought "too confusing for me". The Synergy though, was a piece of cake to install - plug into the wall and plug in the connector and the ... ...instructions said "charge the battery for 24 hours before using" and so I had to disconnect the line whilst the battery charged. It is almost a mobile phone connected to the land line with an external range of 300m and an internal range of 100m - I could use it from my neighbours home if I ever needed to!! It also has a SIM card download feature so I could down load all my mobile numbers onto the handset - a capacity of 255 numbers! It comes with ...

Quick review of BT Synergy 4500
I bought the 4500 Quad from Argos in Ireland and like Lakeranger, I also had a problem with the phone lead. I set it all up fine using the BT lead and it all worked brilliantly until a new puppy chewed through the lead (and was starting on the power lead). As Lakeranger found, standard replacement phone leads won't work. Argos only offer customer service on parts through their suppliers whose numbers are all given as UK Premium rate numbers which cannot be accessed from here. Internet searches have shown up no suppliers. I've even spent a weekend with a box of jacks and a crimper trying to replicate the BT lead. If you can't get consumables it's an absolute waste of money ...

Advantages: Easy to use, ringtones, Good reception and clarity Disadvantages: None I can think of
I really like this phone it is neat and looks funky. The reception is good when you are taking on it even quite a way from the base. My favourite thing is how you can access everything from both phones so you can record your message from the phone and listen to new messages saves you having go back to the base for everything. I think the price is good as well. Never had the phone battery die on me and believe you me I can talk alot. Very easy to ...
