5 Stars Bjorn to be Carried Review with images 29/12/2008

    Advantages Advantages Easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Is quite tiring to use when baby is bigger

I used a baby carrier with both of my children, when my son was born we was given a baby carrier but found it uncomfortable and not very easy to use and I felt it didn't give enough support. I preferred to ‘carry’ my son to have him close to me, so I decided to look for a more suitable carrier to use. Whilst out shopping in Boots we looked at the different carriers and we noticed the Baby Bjorn front carrier which looked the best from the choice that was on offer, and it was reasonably priced at just under £50. It is suitable for use for babies weighing from 8lbs - 25lbs. I carried my daughter ... more

Advantages Advantages easy to use, adjustable

Disadvantages Disadvantages not good for heavy baby

I bought my Baby Bjorn before my baby was born as it seemed to be the carrier everyone was using and so I guessed it must be the best. It IS good - but there are downsides that you should consider before buying. This is a basic pouch type front carrier with excellent safety clips and machine washable. For a newborn baby a carrier is a very easy way of transprting the baby. My newborn loved this carrier and used to fall asleep as soon as I started walking (very handy when you want to actually eat your dinner when still hot!) The only issue I had with this is that because the baby is so small ... more

Advantages Advantages very comfortable for mum and baby, easy to use, easy to clean, durable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I bought this carrier for my second child. For my first child i had bought a cheap carrier and found it very uncomfortable and difficult to use, but then I had seen this when I was expecting my second and liked the look of it. I bought it from toysrus and at the time it was on offer, got it for £35 which i thought was quite reasonable. It looks robust and comfortable on people i had seen using them so couldn't wait to try it out. I started using it as soon as my baby was the recommended weight for using it which is around 8lbs, so i was able to use it almost straight away! At first it was a ... more

Advantages Advantages widely available. Looks funky

Disadvantages Disadvantages not good for baby's development or comfort,

I bought the original spirit in black shortly after our first child was born. It was a brand I had heard of but done little research into and I wish I had looked into it more before buying rather than going for what looked familiar. The fact that it was available from so many major retailers and a common design and shape gave me false reassurance. My money would have been far better spent on a less conventional-looking product that does the job properly. It is not particularly comfortable once your baby is anything heavier than a newborn and, no matter how much I adjusted the straps I just ... more

I have a 4 month old baby..i bought a close baby carrier when he was born but found it quite difficult to use..then i got given a baby bjorn carrier by a friend...i found it to very easy to use and be out and about without beeing nervouse about having to navigate the baby back into the carrier once i took him out for feeds..... My cousin is a physio therapist and works with babies and toddlers..when she saw me carrying him in this carrier she was horrified, apparently it is the worst carrier to carry your baby in as firstly it keeps your babys back straight where it should curve naturally like ... more
