Advantages Advantages Straightens hair with heats up to 230c

Disadvantages Disadvantages started to smell after a year of use

I have very thick curly hair which can be a mission to straighten. I asked my dad one year for some new straighteners for Christmas as my old ones were broken. The hair straighteners:These babyliss PRO 230 Elegance are different from the photo. My dad bought me the electric blue version which came with sectioning clips,a heatproof mat which also doubles up as a handy wrap to keep them from getting broken and a pouch to keep them in.The problem with the pouch for me was the straighteners didn't actually fit inside. I did wonder if it was a clutch bag but after looking on the box, the ... more

Advantages Advantages Look gorgeous, effective, easy to use, high but variable heat, accessories included

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me

My last hair straighteners were 'reasonable' but it didn't take long before they starting showing signs of wear. I don't see the point in paying a fortune for these, especially if it's mostly for a brand name, but I do like having something I think is a good investment, that's good quality and will be reliable. I've had these BaByliss ones for a little while and so far I've been really pleased with them. There are so many hair straighteners to choose from and consumer reviews, like on here, tend to help inform my decisions when it comes to electrical products. I was looking for something that ... more

Advantages Advantages Very fast heat up , longer plates Ionic technology..GHD look without the price tag.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Take a good fifteen minutes to cool , but its worth it.

After almost four months of using a cheap pair of hair straighteners I decided to take the plunge and buy a better set.I knew what I was looking for , something that would give me a salon look without the hyped price tag, so after a bit of investigative work on the Internet I came up with two choices, either buy the GHDs which had a price tag of £120 or take notice of positive product reviews take the plunge and buy the babyliss pro 230 elegance straighteners. Looking on Amazon.co.uk I came across the pro 230 elegance straighteners at the bargain price of £26.80 a 58% saving on the RRP so I ... more

Advantages Advantages Heats fast, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages None, apart from the breakdown

Up until early last year I had pretty long hair for a guy, but due to good advice from my hairdresser I took the plunge and had much of it chopped off - leaving only a substantial fringe (just enough to hide the fact I'm nearly 30 and suffering from a terribly aggressive receding hairline). Despite my hair getting thinner by the day, its actually still quite thick on top and I suffer (woe is me) from very fluffy hair after its been washed. If any men know the secret to nice, 'normal' hair, then let me know - but so far for my entire life my hair bouffants in an alarming way after a good wash ... more

Advantages Advantages Poker-straight results, Easy for travelling, Look attractive, Good value for money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None really!

I thought it was about time I wrote a review on these, as I have had them for over 3 years now! I got these for my birthday and was a bit skeptical at first because I thought that GHDs were the only straightners that work and my hair is quite wavy so never stays straight for long with cheap straightners. When I got these, I think my mum paid around £70, which is a lot but virtually half the price of GHDs. They heat up really quickly which I was impressed with because my old straightners made you wait for ages and even then they never got very hot. I was also impressed at how quickly they ... more

Advantages Advantages Good price, good product and good guarantee

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing so far

I have always had wavy hair which has been hard to do anything with so I have decided to have it fairly short and easy to manage. Once it is blow dried it is by and large OK – except for the fringe. This just decides to do what it wants and can either have a kink in at best or a kiss curl at worst. As a result, every day I have to straighten it. The first straighteners I bought were very cheap and while they did the job, after 8 years they failed and I needed a new set. I did not want to spend a great deal as it was only one small area that needed to be straightened each day, but I wanted a ... more

I was looking for a new straightener, one that would actually keep my hair straight AND give my hair a nice shine as well as keeping it conditioned. I was looking at a GHD straightener, however, I saw this straightener in Argos reduced from the reduced price of £79 odd to £31.32. There and then I knew that was the straightener for me!! What you get You get one blueberry straightener, a heatproof mat, blueberry clutch bag, instruction leaflet and four blue sectioning clips. Features *Up to 230 degrees *Advanced Ceramics for ultra fast heat up and heat recovery *3 temperature settings *1 Inch ... more

Advantages Advantages Good looking product, Great straight hair which lasts!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Less sturdy feel, the writing on them came off, Handle gets quite warm

I bought these straighteners on deal in Tesco for about £40 a few months ago before my GHDs broke (Embarassing - I trod on them and they fell to pieces, but I couldn't claim on insurance or send them off for a new one as it was obvious it wasn't normal wear and tear) They got put in the cupboard as some 'just in case' straighteners or for travelling, as the three women in the house shared one pair of GHDs The straighteners themselves: Admittedly, they don't feel as sturdy as GHDs but for the price I wasn't really complaining. They come in a lovely heatproof pouch which is very useful! The ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I received these straighteners as a birthday gift. I had orginally wanted some GHD straighteners but after doing my research on the internet I found out that these straighteners were apparently just as good and half the price. The hair straighteners come in a very funky case which has it's own heat resistant pad. The case is very handy and protects them if you take them on holiday or somewhere. The heat resistant pad is a extremely useful, with my old straighteners I used to place them on my desk whilst waiting for them to warm up which made a big mark on the top so this time I can just pop ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, heat up quickly, heat mat, three heat settings

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't think of any really!

I had had my old Remington straighteners for a couple of years, so the other day I decided it was time for new ones. I bought these Babyliss Pro 230 Straighteners for £36.39 (half price in Argos). The straighteners come with a little bag with a divider in the middle to keep the cord and plug away from the hot straighteners when you pack them away. It also comes with a heat mat which is ideal for resting your straighteners on in case you damage something. The four hair dividing clips are handy too! The straighteners are so easy to use. There are three heat settings, I use the hottest as my hair ... more
