...got repeated phone calls from Bairstow Eves saying they had buyers waiting. We were putty in their hands having never before sold a property. We knew our private sale sign was annoying them- they were desperate to get their sign put in our road where few houses ever come on the market. The man from Bairstow Eves who came to measure up and take photos was well versed, personable and mature- not a whizz kid with a filofax, and he didn't smell of sweat ...

i have dealt with bairstowe eves on various ocasions and i feel they are not interested in selling houses only selling mortgages legal etc i had very few requirements in my search i wanted a 3 bedroom house for a certain amount not once have i recieved details about any 3 bedroom house the closest i had was 2 bedroom the most stupid a 1 bedroom flat. my sister who is also looking wasn't even allowed to view anything with them because she couldn't get to their office to see the motgage advisor they are worse than useless. ...

NEVER USE BAIRSTOW EVES. My buyer has been refused a mortgage and I have only just found this out from the person that I am buying from's estate agent! I am disgusted at the way that I have been completely left out of the loop by my own agent, Bairstows, I was left to believe that we were going to be exchagning in about a week! Having used Bairtow Eves to market my property, I would not advise anyone to do the same. Although a buyer was found reasonably quickly, that was all B.E. did. My wife commented "wouldn't it be good if you could hire someone to liaise between buyer, seller, and their solicitors to smooth the process through." I pointed out that this was the job of the estate agent, and how they should earn their money. They did none of this, and I resented paying ...
...I also echo another poster's problems that they did not return calls, and anything they did was delayed. They also told my buyers that we would accept an offer (the figure they gave me as a figure htat would help sell quickly, but as we were not too rushed, we put it on the market for more). I don't believe it was a coincidence that the offers we got we all at the same figure. ...
