Bambino Mio and all they have to offer.

Advantages: Can be used with more than one child to save extra money , 100 % cotton
Disadvantages: Quite costly

...nappies and one stood out, Bambino Mio, it was easy to use, the design was nice and it looked to be the most comfortable for my baby, it wasn't bulky either, so I went out and purchased a few more wraps and nappies and claimed back £30 of my spend. ...till the next change. Bambino recommend that if you are using only cotton nappies, you will need to purchase 24 Mio Nappies , 3-6 soft covers and 1 role of Mio Liners initially. Personally, I have 4 covers and 10 nappies, obviously the liners you will just need to keep buying as needed. Also it will depend if you will be using solely cotton nappies or a mix of real and disposable. I use cotton nappies most of the time, but if I know I am going ...

...nappies but finally settled on Bambino nappies. Now I am not going to tell you they are really cheap as they are not but in the long run you will be saving money, it is all to easy to think of the initial outlay but you have to consider that you have to buy disposables weekly. So what are Bambino nappies well I'll tell you now, there are three main parts to a Bambino disposable nappy the outer cover which consists of a plastic waterproof outer shell ...

Happy rash free baby.

Advantages: Minimal Nappy Rash, very Economical and Environmentally Freindly
Disadvantages: Early Stages & at teething need extra wraps, need more changes than disposables.

Bambino Mio Reusables - These are brilliant for my sons bottom. He rarely gets nappy rash, and this has tended to be when he has been in disposable nappies rather than the Bambino Mios. We put he was in disposables recently whilst he was teething and had runny poos – he still has runny poos but in back in his reusable and the nappy rash he got from the disposables has nearly gone now! My son has rarely suffered from nappy rash whilst using Bambino ...
...I was first learnt about Bambino Mios on the internet when they were on offer – however when we tried to buy them they were all out of stock. (Offers do not happen much for them, but the company Bambino Mio based in Northamptonshire have offer days, give good discounts at the Baby Shows and do a “birth to potty” offer which can be bought via local and internet retailers and direct from them.) I was about mid-way through my pregnancy and hadn’t made ...

Reusable Nappies- Bambino Mio

Advantages: eco-friendly, economical, no nappy rash
Disadvantages: you need to keep on top of the laundry!

...first two. I went for Bambino Mio because a) I felt very strongly that I wanted to be eco-friendly this time b) They had good consumer reviews- and I did a lot of research and c) I lived near a local stockist at the time, making it easy to get supplies and sample packs. Basically, you have an outer nappy shell with velcro fastenings which looks a bit like a disposable. It has a waterproof inner and a cotton outer. You can wipe down the waterproof ...
...all (disgraceful!!) Mothercare don't sell Bambino Mio but do stock an alternative eco-friendly brand which are fine. You have to watch that the velcro doesn't rub the skin, but it shouldn't if you have them in the right size nappy fitted correctly. Likewise, they don't leak unless it has been on too long or you need to move up to a bigger size. The elasticated leg is not too tight and is cotton so it never rubs or marks the skin. We are preparing ...

Bambino Mio - Great for 'My Baby'

Advantages: Cheaper Long term, No Nappy Rash
Disadvantages: Big Bottoms!!!

...You can also buy from Bambino Mio training pants and swim nappies if you wish. *****How Many? It really depends on how often you wish to wash them. I typically washed them every 3 days and had 12 nappies and 4 covers per size and this was adequate. *****How do they perform? They are brilliant!! You can also buy secondhand cheaper - after all you can wash them. You can buy complete 'birth to potty' packs which are about £225. You will also need a nappy pail for putting them to soak in these are about £5. *****Conclusion: I love them. I really wish I had used them ...

A great product but beware of mio soft covers!

Advantages: Cost saving, environmentally sound, natural product next to bots!
Disadvantages: Mio soft cover

I started using Bambino mio with my first child and now have a baby; both are in Bambino mios'. I originally looked around at great length prior to the birth and found the bambino mio range to be the best. I liked the mio soft cover as it is cotton like on the outside and waterproof on the inside. It also had some nice patterns on it! The cotton prefolds themselves are not different to many on the market; rectangular in shape they fold into multiple ...
...or via telephone direct from bambino mio. I originally bought the birth to potty pack and the only option is mio soft so please beware. It hasn't saved me any money doing it this way as I have replaced the wraps! As for performance, I love them; using the mio ultra wrap on the whole I have no leakages. However I did/do breast feed and yes there are leakages from breastfed poo, although I know from experience and others that disposables leak too! ...

Bambinos not for Me-o

Advantages: Enviromentally Friendly, Cotton against Baby Bottom
Disadvantages: Too many leaks

...me some hassle! The Bambino Mio system works with cotton prefold nappies, and a waterproof outer wrap. Prefold nappies are lots of layers of cotton (4 on the edges, 6-8 in the centre) made into a rectangle shape, that you then just fold into a pad, sanitary towel type shape, and then put the wrap around it - like a big pair of knickers that do up with velcro at the front. Prefolds are quick drying as there are no folds in them to slow it down, ...
...value on ebay. The bambino mio website (which I think is the only place you can get them from) is easy to use, and delivery was very fast. Everything comes with instructions on how to use it, and everything (wraps and prefolds) can be washed at 60 degrees. You need to remember to seal the velcro, and preferably turn the wrap inside out to stop it snagging anything in the wash. They didn't work very well for me, I needed to use a more all encompassing ...

Good value, but possible leakage

Advantages: Very cheap, environmentally and baby friendly
Disadvantages: leakage for small, breastfed babies

...the wraps. I chose Bambino Mio, because it was well advertised and easy to order, and also because prefold nappies (=just a square of absorbent cotton, to fold and fit with a wrap) are the cheapest option for cloth nappies (see previous comment for details). To begin with it was a bit difficult: you need to get used to fold the nappy, place a liner on the top (in order to catch the poo), then place it over a wrap, and finally push that under your ...
...Also, I found that the Bambino Mio wrap (small) I used were not really good: I had problems of leakage, that extended to the external, cotton part of the wrap, and then to the cloth. All these problems were for the small size only. So I would advise, for young breastfed babies with runny poos, to rather use shaped nappies such as Kooshies or even better Sam-I-Am (that I discovered later), which are much better to avoid any leakage. However, for the ...

Works for me

Advantages: Saving money, Enviromentally friendly
Disadvantages: not for people who don't like a lot of washing

When my second son was born I decided to try and be more enviromentally friendly by trying reuseable nappies. I tryed several brands by using trail offers but found the Bambio Mio to be the most cost effective and easy to use. This is a 2 piece system of nappy with the cloth nappy and an outer cover, which means you don't have to have a clean cover every change. The nappies are 100% cotton and you fold them into three, then you place a liner on ...
...you lay it into the outer cover, they do up a bit like a disposable as they have velcro fasteners on the cover (you can also purchuse covers with press studs on for more security). The cotton nappies come in packets of 6 which cost around £12, The outer covers cost from £6 each, you will need around 18-24 nappies and 3-4 covers, these may seem to be expensive but compare them to how many disposable you will need to buy for a baby and you soon see ...

Yet another change of clothes!!

Advantages: Soft outer lining that didn't appear to rub.
Disadvantages: Would not contain a less than solid poo

...I however decided to use Bambino Mio reusable nappies when my child was born. I believed it to be cheaper in the long run even when washing expenses were taken into account as they could be used for subsequent children. As well as being better for the landfill. The system comprises of 3 parts, an absorbant square that is folded to form the basis of the nappy, a linner that can be flushed down the toilet and an outer cover that has velcro fastening ...
...with the system however was not a success. I found the absorbant square too bulky and despite trying different reccommended folding techniques it would not contain the contents of the nappy when my little boy soiled. This resulted in needing to change his clothes several times a day. The package that I had puchesed had 3 outer covers for each weight range but I found this insufficient due to the leakage as they needed washing each time he solied. ...

Disadvantages: Time consuming. Bulky. Messy.

...reusable nappies. I opted for Bambino Mio as I was impressed with the information provided about them. I used them for 4 months, however during this time I found several disadvantages despite following the manufacturers user guide. 1) Although the nappy was fine when it was wet , it frequently leaked with solids. I had to use clean outer pants after each poo so was using 2 or 3 prs of pants a day, not the 1 pr which manufacturer claims. 2) The ...

Due to the electricity consumption & detergent needed, I don't think these are as eco friendly as manufacturers claim. 3) The nappies were bulky & sometimes didn't stay in place. It was hard to get my son's trousers up over the nappy. 4)They were messy to wash (transferring ...

Fantastic for money saving and the environment

Advantages: Really easy to use and much cheaper than the lowest priced disposables
Disadvantages: Not really any but would probably be a bit difficult if you don't have a tumble dryer

...'Birth to Potty' set from Bambino Mio, the nappies are excellent quality and as yet we haven't had any leeks! I looked into several different brands before deciding on Bambino Mio and found they had the following advantages; -easy to wash and quick to dry, the nappies and covers all wash at 60 degrees, the covers dry quickly as they are quite thin, the nappies take a little longer but as they are simply squares of material they are quicker than ...

Every purchase from Bambino Mio comes with a leaflet for trouble shooting and care instructions which cover washing instructions and different options for folding the inner lining (we have always stuck to the simple folding into thirds and that works fine). Bambino mio nappies are great!

Advantages: Save on cost of nappies
Disadvantages: When worn and washed a lot may be less durable

I have used the Bambino mio nappies now for about 2 years. The cloth inside is very easy to fold and can be used a number of times for a number of babies, is very good at holding liquid, after a few washes in the washing machine or by hand. You can wash them in the washing machine on 60 or less, but can also wash by hand and soak. But you do not have to soak as you can bye nappy wash to go into the washing machine. I have used this method and it ...

Saying that, once I got home it didn't take long to get used to them and for no 2 I will definitely be using them from day 1. He also rarely gets nappy rash, and if so it disappears within a day or two and he hasn't had it to the extent of it bothering him. I am lucky - his nursery are happy ...
