I first bought this as a friend recommended keeping some in the house – ‘it’s like vaseline’ she said, ‘vital.’ It didn’t take too much to convince me, I’ve heard that it has a variety of uses and decided to give it a go. I bought my bottle from Boots - £5.99 for 450ml may sound like a bit more costly than necessary but a little does go a long way and I’ve had my bottle for quite a while and still not really made a big dent on the contents. Advantages Great for sunburn, reasonably priced if you shop around, leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, feels cool to the touch, spreads easily, lasts forever!
Disadvantages Can be expensive if you do not shop around, the kids keep pinching it!

I have recently got back from a two week holiday in spain and this is why I am writing this opinion! If it was not for this product myself, my partner and all the kids would have suffered terribly from sunburn! I bought this product as part of a deal, because it was on offer. If you bought this gel you recieved a dark tanning oil free. Personally, I think it was the oil that made us burn and that is why they sold this gel with the oil! We have just returned from a one week break in Majorca, myself, husband and the three children, it was half term so decided we would look for a holiday. My children are young so I didn’t want long flights, Majorca is just long enough for them not to get tetchy. Handy multi purpose gel 18/06/2012

Advantages Moisturises, soothes sunburn and after shaving, smells fresh, cools skin
Disadvantages Can't lock the pump bottle so can't take it in luggage, full price is a bit expensive

When I was in Boots last week I saw that the large 453g bottle of this Banana Boat aloe vera gel was half price, making it £4.99 instead of £9.99 so I decided to snap this up. This aloe vera gel really is quite a multi purpose product. I have had it before and used it as an after sun lotion to cool and soothe sunburn. Its not big and its not clever but every year I usually get burnt about once in the sun. Its usually the first time it comes out that year and I am not used to it and get a bit blasé with my sun tan lotion usage. I have pale skin and blond hair so although I can tan it takes a long time and usually I just go red first and can go quite badly red even if I am just out in the sun for half and hour or so. I know all my target points that I have to cover with suntan lotion to avoid getting burnt, nose, top of my legs, chest etc but sometimes I forget and they end up getting terribly red and hot. Disadvantages slightly on the expensive side, especially the smaller size bottle

I always have a bottle of Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel in the house, I find that it actually has a multitude of uses. With obviously the most popular one being sunburned skin. I will normally buy it from Boots here in the UK, or if we happen to have run out prior to a holiday I will normally wait and buy it from Walmart or Target in the US as it is much cheaper over there. Boots do currently have a 'buy one get one free' offer on Banana Boat and Hawaiian Tropic products at the moment though. There a so many different types and brands of lotions around and it usually takes a while for each person to find a lotion that suits their skin and that they are happy to use again and again. When it comes to my holidays and after sun treatment I opt for Banana Boat Aloe Gel as I have sensitive skin and need to take care. Banana Boat Aloe Gel helps my skin after a day in the sun as it soothes and cools dry sunburned skin. It also helps my skin rehydrate so that I do not peel and lose the tan. Summer has arrived! Well lets pretend anyway, you are de-sanding your suitcases, arguing over who is going to sacrifice their jeans so you can fit in those three pairs of new shoes you brought for your annual holiday. You have the sun tan creams in all factors and not forgeting the all important aftersun lotion. I discovered this product a couple of years ago and have to admit I use nothing else but this product now. I find that it is brilliant for use as aftersun, but has many uses other than aftersun. Banana Boat aloe vera gel is used to help soothe and soften damaged skin. It is has been around for a while, but some may not have heard of it as it is not stocked in many places. Only the larger Boots stores might stock it, and i have actually seen it in Matalan, in the sun section. This aloe vera gel can be used for a number of things.
