If you buy shares on the stock market and do so with the intention of receiving a certificate for the purchase then you should be aware that it not produced by the stockbroker who is in the same position as the purchaser - awaiting delivery from the registrar after the transfer relating to the purchase has been registered.
If the purchase relates to a company registered in Ireland it is possible ...

...with the Share certificates with Barclays and they offer an exceptionally easy service and you do not have to pay any money out for at least two weeks. The problem I have come across is if you buy a new PC , you actually need to take a copy of your digital certificate which Barclays use to verify you are who you say you are.If you have not like I did you need to re-register and they cancel your old account.Obviously if you sold your PC and did action ...

Quick review of Barclays Stockbrokers Review ofBarclays Stockbrokersby
harptree
As a Barclays stocbroker customer of 8 years duration I have noticed customer service quality has plummeted and have recently moved my accounts elsewhere. The Service center has become almost customer hostile, non-responsive, intransigent and bureaucratic. If you fail to respond to a particular notice or requirement for some signature or paper work in a limited time eg because you are on holiday or travelling, woe betide you since you are likely to find your accounts frozen and non-tradeable. Go elsewhere!

In my case the closure fees amount to more than the value of the stock!
I tried to obtain details of my portfolio on line but my registration was repeatedly rejected and then I was told I was not ...

Advantages: 2 weeks credit, low maximum charge, get a quote prior to buy/sell. Disadvantages: need day time internet access, fairly slow to load from internet, no portfolio capability
I joined Barclays Stockbrokers recently as I wanted to deal in shares on line. The service at sign up was'nt that good, I had major problems with setting up my password. I wanted to use on that I already have for other accounts but they were'nt to happy. Managed to solve that problem.
Being able to buy shares on credit (14days) seemed good but the downside is that you also have to wait 2 weeks to get your money when the shares are sold. There ...
