I ate 6 whole babies! That's right 6 babies!

Advantages: Tasty and chewy, don;t get stuck in your teeth
Disadvantages: Some may find too sweet

I am going to make a controversial statement now (ready?): war can be good. Of course I do not mean that war is good but rather war can bring about some good things. In the midst of all the death and dying medical advances can be made far quicker than they would have occurred in peacetime. Of course after a period of war comes the period when there is peace. During this period everyone is so happy and full of joy at the fact that it is peacetime ...
...things like there will never be another war. They also do various things to mark the peace. Governments declare holidays, new parks and things are opened and let’s not forget the food. So after the First World War Bassetts introduced a special sweet to celebrate peace. They called them Peace Babies. And indeed what better way to celebrate peace than chomp on a baby. A few years (and wars) later the Peace Babies became Jelly Babies which has to be ...

Who Is Your Favourite Baby?

Advantages: Good Fun and Great Flavours
Disadvantages: Lots of Icing Sugar and a bit messy

During a recent visit to a friends house I was offered a jelly baby which I devoured, followed pretty much it is fair to say by the rest of the packet. I did offer to replace all that I had scoffed but as usual my plan worked and my kind offer was declined. For you see I am a serial jelly baby scoffer but if the truth be told I have never actually bought a packet for myself, you see I just go around eating other peoples. It is not because I can't ...
...with the fact that these sweets are for kids and there's something a little bit taboo about a grown adult buying and eating a bag of babies. In the world of sweets and confectionaries and all things nice Jelly Babies are a good old fashioned success story. They were first introduced by Bassetts after the First World War under the name Peace Babies as a celebration to the end of the war before their name was changed to the Jelly Babies that we know ...

Evil Little Babies!!!

Advantages: taste nice, made with real fruit juice, can be bought from many shops
Disadvantages: leaves you thirst, unhealthy, can be expensive, the white powder leaves you dirty

I have to admit that these little jelly babies were the first jelly babies I ate in my life, of course followed by other random brands. These bassets jelly babies have always been sweets that I eat randomly I would possibly say a packet in six months because they are bad influence though they've got an innocent name and the packet is rather colourful mainly to attract you into buying them as they look lively from the outside. Of course bassets is ...
...than 70years now and they specialize in making all sorts of sweets, which some of them I don't fancy (wine gums etc). The company is rather popular and so are the jelly babies as more than a billion are made each year. I am most certain that I eat fifty of the jelly babies which is less than one percent so I am not that hooked up on them, though I would love to be. The little jelly babies are kind of sweet as they are small and all have a smile ...

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

Advantages: Real fruit jelly characters.
Disadvantages: None.

...end of World War 1, Bassett's called them "Peace Babies". Shortage of raw materials stopped production during the Second World War, but was resumed in 1953 when the sweets became known as Jelly Babies". I adore Jelly babies. There is something really fun about them and I love biting off their heads! They appeal to young and old and they really are cheerful colourful soft sweet characters. Made by Bassets, they are one of the biggest selling jelly ...
...the Jelly Babies are delicious. Bassett's use real fruit juice in this product and it certainly makes a difference to taste. The Jelly is nice and firm on the outside and softer to the inside. I like the dusting of powdered sugar they put on the Jelly Babies it gives the first bite a delicate flavouring before your taste buds get to grips with the full fruit flavour of the centre of the product which delivers a strong fruit flavouring to the mouth. ...

Tis An Art To Having A Baby

Disadvantages: You Can Get Addicted To Them

...got a large bag of Bassett's Jelly Babies from my chick. Naturally I got other stuff as well but I just love those wee babies. Ok so I am a big kid, sue me !!!……… Ok here is a quick question for you, how many different flavours are there?? To be honest I am not sure myself so I am emptying the bag out now. Off with your head!

Advantages: taste nice
Disadvantages: bad for your teeth

Sitting in my drawer at work is a large bag of jelly babies. It's not often I buy these, but the half price offer was too much for my sweet tooth mood last week when I really needed a pick me up. Jelly Babies come from many manufacturers and you will find a lot of imitations from other companies. I will buy the cheaper versions if Bassets aren't on offer, but there is something about the true original variety of jelly babies that makes me smile. ...
...biting off the jelly heads, and eating the poor defenceless mites limb by limb until there was nothing left, or whether it's the lovely fine sugar coating that surrounds these jelly sweets. Bassets packaging for jelly babies don't seem to have changed too much in the past. The packaging is still bright yellow and sports the little jelly people looking at you from their packet. The bags they sit in are standard compared to any other bag of sweets ...

Meet the Jelly Babies!

Advantages: Tasty, lots of flavours, real fruit juice
Disadvantages: Moorish!

Meet the Jelly Babies!! There's Brilliant - a lovely Strawberry Flavour Bubbles - The lemon flavour Boofuls - Lime Flavour Big Heart - Blackcurrant Bumper - Orange And Baby Bonny - Raspberry Jelly Babies are one of my favourite jelly fruit type sweets so I decided to find out a bit more about them. ...used to mark the end of World War 1. In 1953 the product was relaunched as "Jelly Babies". Like I said Jelly Babies are a gelatin sweet containing sugar, glucose syrup and apparently, according to the packet now made with real fruit juices. Like I've said above each sweet has a different flavour and a different name. They also have different shapes as well so I think it makes these sweets quite fun to eat. This was a new innovation around 1989 whereas ...

I Bit A Babys Head Off Last Night,God it Was Tasty

Advantages: Taste, packaging!
Disadvantages: Why Do I always love the one you love?

Jelly Babies. Who says they’re for children? Ok, the adverts and posters are aimed at children, but believe me – the taste is too good for children. Just give them the Mr Men Lollipops, and keep these for yourself! Jelly Babies have been around for years it seems, and each year the little men change their image (this isn’t because they do age, it’s because a new computer is invented, so they can do a better image!!), but ...
...The fact that these are so cheap, and so nice, is brilliant for me! Because I can buy them for a small amount of money, and then enjoy them! You see, usually when I buy something cheap it tastes like something I do when I go to the toilet (number 2, not 1), so this is a nice change for me! The Taste? Well, incase you don’t know (this is directed for thick people!) Jelly babies are made from gelatine. They’re not a bit like jelly though, ...

GaGa For Jelly Babies!

Advantages: Sweet & fruity flavour, good texture & consistency without being too hard or too chewy
Disadvantages: Addictive

Mmm Mmm Mmm... I can't get enough of these cute little babies! Jelly Babies are made by Bassetts, a very popular and trustworthy brand, and so you expect good quality products from them. I would say these are good quality, and definitely superior to other similar versions I've tried, such as supermarket own brands. A 215g bag of Jelly Babies usually costs around £1 - £1.40 (though they're often on offer, especially Morrisons at around 69p, so it's ...
...come in funky bright yellow packaging. For your money, I've worked out that you get approx 35 baby shaped jelly sweets. They're also available in treat size bags which are good if you only want a small amount, but they're definitely not value for money. Morrisons sell these at 25p, and you get a handful of mini-sized babies. Box versions of Jelly Babies are also available which would make a good present (anyone who bought me a boxful of these would ...

Jelly Babies - First I'll Eat Your Head, Then I'll Eat Your Body.

Advantages: A bit of a nostalgic treat.
Disadvantages: Not good for you.

'''Bassetts Jelly Babies''' Got a bit of a sweet tooth at the moment and as ever looking for things on offer. I saw these on offer in Tesco and thought I would buy some to take me back to my childhood. ===What are they like?=== These are individual jelly shaped sweets that are of course supposed to resemble babies! The packaging is nice and bright; it is yellow in the main with colourful graphics and some jelly babies on the front. It states quite ...

The flavours are: #Strawberry - Brilliant #Lemon - Bubbles #Lime - Boofuls #Blackcurrant - Big Heart #Orange - Bumper #Raspberry - Baby Bonny It was news to me that they actually had names! Calorie wise each baby will set you back 20 calories and whilst there are only trace amounts of fat and salt etc, be ...

NO MORE BABIES FOR ME

Advantages: enjoy
Disadvantages: just enjoy

I was in Tesco Alloa shop today and guess what I saw yes you all know by now what I love to see when I’m shopping BOGOF. They were basset’s sweets this week. There was a choice of Jelly Babies, Liquorice allsorts, Wine gums and Chocolate Éclairs. So I treated Ross to some. The bags held 225g and were 85p a bag but with the BOGOF lucky me got two bags for that. Now I am going to say something really daft here (but what’s new you say) When I opened ...

WHO ATE MY BABIES

Advantages: Tasty
Disadvantages: None that i can think of

...Jelly Babies are made by Bassett's and are small jelly sweets shaped like little people. They were orignially called Peace Babies and were introduced at the end of the first world war in 1918, it was in 1958 that they became known and still are as Jelly Babies. Should these babies come with a health warning?

Advantages: Can't think of any now
Disadvantages: The colourings may be hazardous to your health

...a bit of history. Bassett's was founded by George Bassett in 1842, and Jelly Babies were launched as "Peace Babies" in 1918 to celebrate the end of World War I. The name was changed in 1953 when sweet production was resumed after the Second World War, and Jelly Babies were born. All this would make them attractive to kids, I would guess. Also on the back of the pack is the dreaded nutritional information, but I’m going to tell you about that later. The taste test. When you open the pack, you get a very pleasant and fairly strong fruity smell. The jelly ...
