    Advantages Advantages Fun for kids, excellent for special treats.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Crazy prices on the accessories you can choose.

    To be perfectly frank with you the Bear Factory is not a shop I ever thought I'd be stepping inside. I'm not a huge bear fan, and I don't have kids so really why would I want to go there?! Well it all came about when my niece and nephew decided they'd like to come and stay with us at Easter a couple of years ago without mum or dad, this was a new thing for them, and at 10 and 12 we thought we could probably handle them, and them us.     Being the big kid that I am, I love teddies. Infact, I still have all of the stuffed animals I had when I was born! So you can imagine my delight at walking into the Hamley's store during the festive season a few years back and finding a factory full of bears! Yes, it is the unmistakable Bear Factory, which puts the fun back into buying stuffed toys!     You’ll never guess where I went at the weekend – only the Bear Factory at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre that’s where! I did manage not to buy anything, as I do have a houseful of bears and they were quite expensive, but I just had to tell you about them! This is an amazing shop where you get your very own bear made and dressed just for you.     The Bear Factory.. ******************** My own experience of this amazing shop.. My daughter and I were visiting my mam one day and my auntie was there too.. She was telling us of her other niece who had been given a gift of a bear factory teddy bear, she went on to describe the various items of clothing you could get for the bear to wear, and also how you choose the bear and actually have It "stuffed" while you are at the shop.     ...that's probably why you won't find any in this store!!! If you've never heard of the Bear Factory, then you're fortunate, as it's a very addictive thing. Although we had a store open in my local shopping centre a couple of years ago, I'd never really had occasion to purchase a teddy bear. Until my parents-in-law decided to leave the country to live in Spain and I wanted to get them something 'British' to take with them as a reminder of us - preferably something that looked like it cost a lot so they wouldn't hurry back either. ;o) Anyway, one wet December afternoon after a rather lovely ... more

    Have you ever wanted to know or even see how your favourite bedtime soft toy made? Well now you have the chance. Just visit the Bear Factory. It allows the customer to create their very own bears or cat or dog... oh just come along for a look. The shop in Peterborough Queens Gate Centre is fun. This is my local store. The assistants are friendly and helpful and there is even a guest book by the door, so you can even write your own opinion!     There are special moments in our childrens lives that we like to mark by buying them a special gift, something to treasure. Personally the best gifts I have given my children have been the ones that have been unexpected, the little treats that we have surprised the children with.     I visit Norwich quite a lot, and have often walking passed the Bear Factory store in the shopping mall. I've been in there a couple of times to have a look round. But - until today - could never really afford to buy a bear of my own. I really wanted a bear from there. You see, it's not just any old bear that you're buying. The bears you buy are different.     What do you get for the love of your life when they are celebrating their birthday? This was a question that vexed me, as my daughter Daisy (the love of my life in question) was about to turn six. She really, really wanted the Ready Steady Cook easy bake oven, but to be honest I didn’t feel inclined to pay £50 for a bit of plastic that probably wouldn’t work, when we already regularly do baking together using our real oven.     My son Carter and I took a trip only the other day to the bear factory in Telford, now this was not my first visit, however for my son it was.( 5 months on today) We took our time as we had all afternoon, and spent over an hour in the bear factory where we were well looked after. The staff were excellent and very friendly; well you might say it's their job to be friendly!
