Advantages: Straightforward, easy to setup Disadvantages: Admin is slow, manual is too technical
...others. I decided on the Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router. At the time, it cost me quite a lot of money but it was important that it did everything the old one did; 4 wired ports (I have 2 computers, lucky-old-me), wireless (for my laptop and kids computer) and a good firewall. The wireless feature must have a good 50m range (inside the house) with WPA with pre-shared key (PSK) encryption.

... ...the review. I ordered the Belkin router and waited for it to arrive. It was very easy to setup, just like most routers these days. Plug the cables in and switch it on. It has a DCHP server, which means it will give your computer an IP address automatically and allows it to connect to the router and any other computers linked directly to the router, or even printers etc. The lights at the front tell you if you’re connected to the router itself and ...

...heard of it before. The Belkin Wireless G Router was recommended in store by one of the advisors (PCWorld), and my brother reassured us Belkin were a reputable brand, highly praised in several of his computer magazines. We bought ours for about £50, and I've seen them on Amazon for about the same price. It does seem quite pricey. However, it was cheaper than some (more inferior, or so I'm told) rival brands, plus the one-off charge of the router ... ...available. The first is a Belkin USB Network Adapter, costing around £20. This is what I use on my desktop computer - a small, tidy stick that fixes to the back of your computer, or in any USB port. For laptops the Belkin Network Card is the better option. Although the USB will still work providing your laptop has a USB connector, it's a cumbersome thing to have hanging off the side of your laptop! The Network Card, which costs a pricier £30, is ...

I have owned this Belkin Router for nearly 15 months now, So far I have found this router to be not to my liking.
The installation was very easy as it comes with a CD containing an easy set up wizard which was very helpful and got my network up and running within 10 minutes, this was the best bit of the whole package.
The Router looks very standard; it is a plain dull grey colour with two black aerials sticking out the back.
The power supply that ... ...of a pain to hide out of view, The router itself on the other hand is very light and easily moveable but doesn’t look like it would last a 2ft fall to the floor, So I would recommend it as a durable router.
I have one cable plugged from my Modem into the back of the router and another cable from my PC to the back of the router, So the internet runs through my modem then through the router so that my PC in my bedroom can also have Wireless internet, ...

...and my confidence restored with Belkin for the moment though I will be happy with being able to use the internet freely.
One big issue for me though with Belkin not the router is that in the instruction leaflet there is a "free phone help line" however the "free phone: is not free at all the number is an 0845 number than is premium rate and costs a lot the nice little* by the free phone I think is telling of the poor level of customer service that ...

I bought my belkin router just over a year ago when i got a laptop that i wanted to get an internet connection on. i bought it from PC World and it cost just over £50. As far as i know the price hasn't really dropped that much. My main reason for buying it was due to its wide range and high speed. The sales advisors advised me that its ideal for most houses as the signal is quite good. In the box you get the router, rj45 ethernet cable, power supply, ... ...getting wireless very easy. There are other features with the router which include parental controls, pop up blocker and manufacturers lifetime warranty. The router has 4 ethernet ports which is ample for myself.
The setup of the router was very easy, it was just a matter of running the installation wizards which gives step by step instructions. The wizard is great for people that don't know much about computers. Unfortunately the wireless range ...

...the same thing.
The belkin router is a good solution for a family as it can offer 4 wired connections as well as up to 99 wireless connections. This gives plenty of scope for connecting up more pcs. The range is certainly more than adequate for a modern family even in a decent sized 4 bedroom semi, the wireless covers all rooms in the house as well as to the bottom of the garden and probably quite a way up the street. Although as they say you pay for what you get. And what you do get is of the highest quality. Customer suport is vague in places especially concerning older systems, which is a shame but doesn't really concern most people. SOme of the set up and ...

Quick review of Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router wireless router
I have owned this router for 7months. I bought it after the power supply on my previous Belkin router failed.Intallation was simple and through put is very good. Unfortunatly the wireless transmittion range is worse than my old belkin router, often failing to connect between adjacent rooms (in a standard brick built house). More annoyingly as indicated by other reviews it continually drops its internet connection. Often when this happens the router does not allow access to it's home page 192.168.2.1 either by wireless or ethernet connection which means the only way to restart the router is to switch it off and on at the power socket.
I would not recommend this product. ...
