USB is for me

Advantages: Have plenty of USB ports at any time
Disadvantages: Can be a bit of a pain when it comes to the power supply.

...choose? I chose the Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub; this was based on the price, availability and looks. The price and availability of the USB hub were my main purchasing considerations. What did I get? I got the main USB hub, a connection cable (one end plugs into the hub and the other plugs into a USB port on the computer), a transformer (this supplies power to the hub via a cable that plugs into the hub, more about this later in the review) ...
...£25. What does it look like? The hub itself is squircle shaped (a cross between a square and a circle) on one end are four USB ports, at one side is a socket for connecting the USB lead that connects the hub to the computer and another socket for the power supply that comes from the transformer. On the top and directly over the USB sockets are LED's that tell me when any of the USB sockets are in use and another LED that tells me if it is connected ...

...up and running. The Belkin Hub plugs into a USB socket on your computer. It is hot wired (you can plug it in and take it out while the computer is switched on, the main box recognises the hub. It can derive its power from the computer or through its own mains adapter. This hub has four sockets that allow the connection of four USB devices (there is a model that will accept seven). Hubs can also be daisy chained. Each socket has a green LED status ...
...as high as 12 Mbps. Belkin also produce a whole range of cables to link other devices to a USB port. I could consider moving my parallel printer onto the hub. Let’s see, the manual says you can plug in any USB device: mouse, keyboard, joystick, even another USB hub. What’s this? You can daisy chain up to 127 USB devices into one PC USB port? Saved me from the world behind the hard drive!

Advantages: Saves alot of messing around, can add more than one.
Disadvantages: One of the connecting cables is facing the wrong way.

The Belkin Hi-speed Usb hub has made using Usb devices almost a pleasure instead of the usual battle with wires and cables which inhabit the dark recesses at the back of my hard drive! The hub allows you to connect up to 4 Usb devices at the same time to your computer or laptop. What To Do With All Those USB Plugs

Advantages: Easiest Possible Installation
Disadvantages: Uses Yet Another Mains Socket

...Cry? No! You get a Belkin 4 port hub. It basically plugs in to one of your existing ports and allows you to then plug a further 3 extra devices in. No installation is required; it is a straight plug n play job. You can "daisy chain" these devices to connect up to 127 USB peripherals to each socket on your PC. The only downside is that you do have to plug it in to a mains socket, meaning yet another one to find. ----====What Does It Look Like?====---- ...

Also on the back is the socket in to which you plug the power adaptor, and the USB cable that goes to the computer. The cable to connect it to the computer is included in the box and is about 1.8m long. ----====Anything Else?====---- Not really, it’s an easy to use/install device, which makes connecting more ...

Belkin USB - Expansion made easy

Advantages: Good Quality, Easy to use
Disadvantages: A bit pricey

The Belkin 4 port USB hub is the ideal way to add additional usb ports to your computer. It plugs into 1 usb slot on your machine, and gives you 4 new ports. With it's own power supply, it can provide proper 500 mA per port power, and each port comes with it's own overload setting. As USB becomes more and more popular, this is an easy expansion method, enabling you to chain up to 127 devices together. Although a little bit more expensive than some ...

USB Hub:- Reliable USB Connection

Advantages: Small,stlish,value for money
Disadvantages: Plasticy. But all it will do is sit on a shelve.

...found the solution in a Belkin 4 port USB Hub. Sylish design and a good brand name made this product the only real choice for me. The product comes complete with a power brick,USB cable and a set of instructions. Adding this to your system couldnot be simpler. Plug one lead into PC USB port, the other end into hub. Plug in your USB devices to the hub and errrr thats it. No drivers to install,no PC to take apart , no nothing. In my case , some ...

In these cases , the supplied power brick can be used although if your devices can survive ok , the hub will grab its power from the PC I have had this device running stable for a week and have been running webcams/scanners/PDA and a wavefinder digital radio with no problems. Well worth its price in my opinion, ...

Plug it in and that's it!

Advantages: Easy to use, can be combined with more hubs to connect 127 devices!
Disadvantages: Needs another mains socket

...isn't going to be enough, Belkin also do a 7 port version, though this costs more. You can even connect these into each other giving anything up to a maximum of 127 devices per port! Now that would be a lot of wires! This hub is USB 1.1, operating at an impressive 12Mbps, though if you really need faster than this, Belkin also do a USB 2.0 version for a little more of your money which runs at 480Mbps. Very easy to use, stylish design and does what ...

Very Reliable Product!

Advantages: Good Range, Reliable, Easy To Use
Disadvantages: Sometimes Losses Signal

I found this product an excellent item! Around 6 months ago i was looking for a wireless router for my computers around my house. I needed a powerful and reliable router because my house is fairly big with lots of walls inbetween the computer, hense affecting the signal. I found this router on the internet and after reading through the specification i found it worked over 100m in distance to each computer. I bought it and have had no problems with ...
...and took around 10 minutes to fully set up. The only problem i sometimes have with it, is that the signal weakens at random times of use, this is easierly solved however, because you just search for the network again and once found, it will re-connect with no problems. Overall a very pleasing product! ...
